38. Kioni
Kioni
Sam snuggles up against me with her legs resting in my lap and a blanket draped over both of us as we watch the sunrise on my porch.
“This is life,” I mumble against her head, kissing her hair and resting my head on top of hers.
“If Nyx was at our feet, it would definitely be,” she replies, reaching over to grab her coffee cup.
I groan dramatically, and she elbows me in the stomach. “Hey,” I laugh. “My abs are sore from fucking you all night.”
She smiles and hums, leaning in to kiss me. “Your dick game is on point, babe.” I laugh, kissing her back harder. “Can I use it on you one day?”
“No. Dick, even a fake one, is not my cup of tea, love.”
She puckers her bottom lip, and I lean in, sucking it into my mouth. “That won’t work this time.”
“Fine,” she drags out the word, her voice light with humor.
When she places her cup down and snuggles back into me, my heart aches it’s so full.
Is it normal to love someone so much that it hurts?
I pull her into my lap and hug her until it’s time for her to go home and swap out with Ryker.
He stayed at her house with Nyx so we could be as loud and crazy as we wanted without bothering either of them.
“How soon is too soon to move in together?” I blurt out.
She pauses while getting dressed and scrunches her face in thought. “I don’t think there is a right or wrong timeframe for that. Nothing we have done thus far follows any social norms.”
“I don’t want to go to sleep or wake up without you anymore,” I admit.
“We’ll just take turns sleeping at each other’s houses until we figure it out. I’ve never lived with someone before. Other than family, that is.” She chews on her lip nervously.
“Would it help if I told you I’ve basically been living with you for months so nothing you do will be of any surprise to me?”
She rolls her eyes and sighs. “You know everything there is to know about me, but I’m still getting to know you.”
I nod. “You’re right. We will take it day by day. See you for lunch?”
“Mhm.” She nods, giving me a quick peck on the lips before leaving to go back home.
With a smile, I fall backward onto my bed to stare at the ceiling, thanking the universe for putting her in my path.
I’ve already told my mom that she’s the one.
I’m going to have to keep her away from my family for a while because they will start hounding her about wedding dates, and I don’t think my pup is quite at that point yet.
Soon. I can feel it. Once part of your heart lives in another, you can’t resist the pull.
When I’m dressed, I send her a selfie of me in my uniform, and she responds with a drooling emoji.
“You want to know something? That dog didn’t let me pet it not one time while I was there. She would either walk away or move her head away from my hand until she fell over. Ridiculous. All dogs love me. Why doesn’t that one?” Ryker complains on the way to the station.
“She loves her owner, and that’s good enough.”
“Of course you would say that. I’m going to buy her treats. Or maybe a steak. Then she will warm up to me…” He’s still talking as we walk into the station, but I half ignore him. He sees a challenge, and he’s going to take it.

The smile that graces Sam’s face when I walk into the spa to retrieve her for lunch makes my heart skip a beat.
I pinch myself, making sure I didn’t fall asleep watching her on my laptop and this is a dream.
Without a second thought, she walks straight to me and falls into my embrace.
I smile against her neck, squeezing her back.
When she pulls away, she leans up and presses a kiss to my lips before grabbing my hand.
Well, okay then. She’s perfectly fine with everyone knowing we are a couple. Thank fuck.
Emily is walking back towards the door when we open it.
“I left my door open and now my battery is dead,” she grumbles.
Sam looks at me, and I nod. “Come to lunch with us. We’ll deal with your car later,” Sam tells her, grabbing her arm and tugging her along with us, not allowing her to decline.
“I’ve never been in the back of a cop car before,” Emily whispers to Sam in the backseat.
We didn’t have time to go back to the station to swap vehicles before Sam went on break.
We take them to eat next to the water again after stopping to grab our to-go orders of pasta and breadsticks.
Sam mentioned yesterday that chicken Alfredo sounded good.
She beams at me when she opens her container to discover just that. What my baby wants, my baby gets.
“Xan said he will come jump my car when he gets off work. I’ll just let him do it so you two can get back to catching bad guys after you drop us off.”
“You sure?” Ryker asks with his mouth full of lasagna.
She laughs, nodding and hands him a napkin.
He hasn’t once tried to flirt with her or make any teasing remarks. As much as he won’t admit it or even talk about it, I’m pretty positive he has a thing for Taylor. I caught him covering up a hickey the other morning while mumbling, “She’s fucking crazy,” to himself.
“We need to create an outdoor spa,” Sam tells Emily. “Wouldn’t somewhere like this be nice to relax in?”
“Mmm,” Emily hums, studying our surroundings. “We could have our boss buy the lot next to us and create a version of this there. She could have retractable walls and stuff for when it rains and close it off in the winter.”
Sam scrunches her nose. “It wouldn’t be the same.”
Now I’m determined to buy her a sanctuary like this for her to run her own business.
Just for her, so the environment doesn’t get tainted by noise and distractions.
As much money as we have obtained over the past couple of years, she wouldn’t have to work for anyone else. She can do whatever her heart desires.
When she closes her container, I spread my legs so she can lie between them and rest her head in my lap. I run my fingers through her hair while I finish eating one-handed. Emily giggles, watching the interaction, and takes a picture of us, and then Sam’s phone chimes with the incoming message.
“I’ve never seen her so happy. Just thought you should know,” she says to me, and I smile, looking down at my love who has her eyes closed, so content and relaxed.
When it’s time to leave, Emily and Ryker gather up the trash, and Sam seizes the opportunity to climb into my lap and straddle me as we hide behind the tree.
“You look so edible in your uniform,” she purrs into my ear, and it goes straight through my ear to the apex of my thighs.
“Will you wear it for me tonight? All of it?”
“Handcuffs included?” I ask, giving her ass a squeeze.
“Well…I’ll be wearing those,” she laughs, nuzzling into my neck. I hold her to me like a clingy koala bear until Ryker blares the siren.
“We have to go, love.” I kiss her on the cheek, and she stands up with a groan.
“I don’t like going back to work once I’ve seen you. Maybe I’ll become a detective so I can ride along with you guys all day.”
“Love,” I sigh. “If you knew how many times I was in your house while you were also inside before I made myself known, you would understand how shitty a detective you would be.”
“Hey!” She elbows me. “I could learn.”
“No. No, you couldn’t.”
She climbs in beside Emily. “I could be a detective, right?” she asks her friend.
“Absolutely!” she agrees and I roll my eyes, laughing to myself.
I need to work with her on that, though. I’m the only monster allowed hunting her down.
She connects her phone to the car, and Taylor Swift’s voice comes through the speakers.
Ryker jerks his gaze towards me, and I shrug, turning up the volume for her.
They dance in the backseat and sing along as if they are in a karaoke bar.
I can’t help but laugh and watch them through the rearview mirror.
My heart hurts when I have to say goodbye and watch her walk away, but knowing I get to see her tonight eases the ache a fraction.
“I thought I was in love before,” I state when we are driving again.
“That wasn’t love. When Sam’s not with me, it’s like a piece of my soul is being pulled from my body in a desperate attempt to get back to her.
It feels good and bad at the same time. While it hurts, it also makes me feel whole.
It’s hard to explain. Missing her creates a pit in my stomach, but the thought of seeing her again has excitement thrumming through me and makes my body feel fuzzy. I’m a fucking mess, Ryk.”
“So…I’ll be your best man at your wedding, right?”
A laugh bubbles up my throat. “Yeah, bro. You’ll be my best man and maid of honor. Are you wearing a suit or a dress?”
“If you call me your maid of honor, I’ll quit.”
I slap him on the shoulder. “This will be you soon. Unless it already is, and you won’t tell me for some reason,” I tease.
“She’s crazy, Ki. But I’ll admit, it’s kind of thrilling. That’s all you are getting.”
It’s enough. For now.
When I’m finally off duty and on my bike, I have tunnel vision the whole way to her house.
Nyx only growls slightly when I walk through the door.
“I’m growing on you, demon,” I tell the black beast and attempt to pet her.
She dodges my hand. I hear the shower running as I’m jogging up the stairs.
She’s getting a shower without me. Little brat.
I swing open the door and she screams, covering her breasts with one arm and her pussy with the other.
“Damn it, Kioni! You startle me every time.”
“Sorry, love, I figured you’d be used to it by now.”
Her lips twitch, and she drops her hands to give me the most perfect view. She melts the closer I get to her, and when I wrap my arms around her waist, she wraps hers around my neck and kisses me.
“You should be naked every time I come home,” I say, not necessarily joking.
It would be nice. I reach around her to turn the water off, sneakily pulling out the handcuffs with the other.
I click one around her wrist that’s still wrapped around my neck and swiftly turn her around, securing it to her other wrist. She yelps, and I position us in front of the mirror so she can watch herself and wishing I had the harness on so I could fuck her from behind and watch her tits bounce. Next time.
I wrap my hand around the front of her throat and massage her breasts with the other before continuing lower to her cunt that I know is already wet for me.
I hum in approval against her ear when I discover just how wet.
Her ass presses into me when I make a come hither motion, hitting her sweet spot.
I fist the back of her hair and drag my teeth over her neck, biting her gently and quickening the speed of my fingers.
“You are such a needy little whore, aren’t you?”
“Yes,” she moans, her lips parted and her eyes heavy.
Her fingers explore my jeans, but I have a belt on, and she’s in handcuffs. She’s close. Her walls clench around my fingers, and I snake my hand back around her throat and cut off her air. Her orgasm ripples through her so beautifully.
“Look at yourself, Sam. Look how beautiful you are when you come for me.”
She forced her eyes to open, watching the last of her climax rush through her. When she slumps into me, I loosen my grip, allowing air to enter her lungs. I keep my hand loosely over her throat and the other around her middle, holding her until she catches her breath and can stand on steady legs.
I kiss her shoulder as I remove the handcuffs.
She turns around and begins stripping me down, then pulls me into the shower with her.
The water is already warm when she turns it on.
She drops to her knees, and my heart feels like it may give out when she looks up at me through wet lashes.
She doesn’t speak as she grabs my ankle and motions for me to rest my foot on the edge of the tub.
The way she spreads my lips apart and spears me on her tongue while holding eye contact has me gripping the wall, the curtain rod, anything to keep myself from toppling over.
The heat gathering between my legs is hotter than the water creating steam around us.
“Fuck,” I groan. “You feel so fucking good.”
I grasp her hair and she hums around my clit, causing my hips to snap forward, grinding against her tongue. She’s not gentle anymore. She devours me until I’m a blubbering mess, trying desperately to hold on to something.
“Goddamn, Sam. F-fuck.”
Unable to take it anymore, I force her head back, and the look on her face is one of pure triumph. Control is not something I have anymore with her. Never have I completely crumbled for anyone else. I drop to my knees and pull her lips to mine, licking myself off her tongue like a madwoman.
She fucking owns me.
