Epilogue
Daruka
“Why, hello there, my sexy lust demon.” I strutted onto the back porch, my gaze latching onto the superhot demon-slash-elf standing over one of the grills, basting an amazing smelling meat.
He glanced up, smiled widely, and waggled his eyebrows. “I see you’re able to walk again.”
An hour ago, that had not been the case. He’d turned me into a limp, sated woman who could barely gasp for breath let alone walk, and then left me in bed so he could come down here and prepare dinner.
We’d returned from the elfin forest yesterday evening, after spending two nights not sleeping in the same treehouse, let alone same bed.
Asmoday had been nervous about impressing his dad. Especially when he’d decided he was finally going to tell his father that he wasn’t going to take on the responsibilities expected of him.
The elfin forest was a lovely place, although I could see why Asmoday didn’t want to commit to managing it. It wasn’t nearly as interesting as Arrythmia.
His dad had been surprisingly thrilled by Asmoday’s announcement that he had moved to a small town in Texas and opened a bed and breakfast. His father thought that’d be a perfect career for Asmoday. And then he promptly named Asmoday’s younger sister as the new manager of the elfin forest.
Now, not only was Asmoday secure in his career with his father’s blessing, but we’d also recently broken his twelve-hour streak.
We also broke a few pieces of furniture.
It had been worth it.
“That’s a lot of meat for only the two of us,” I noted.
Asmoday wrapped his arm around my middle and hauled me into his side.
The close contact immediately began warming my core.
You’d think I’d be good after what transpired over the last twelve hours and seventeen minutes, but I’d finally figured out that the fact that Asmoday was a lust demon was not the reason I was so attracted to him.
It went much, much deeper than that.
“We have guests checking in later,” Asmoday announced.
“The centaur who works at the pub has taken over running the coffee shop, but he can’t do it on a permanent basis.
He’s just too big. Every time he turns around, his tail is knocking something off a counter or bumping a customer holding a cup of scalding hot coffee. ”
“I can see where that would be an issue.” I hadn’t yet experienced this, since every morning when I woke up, Asmoday was there with a steamy cup of my favorite coffee.
He doted on me. And I loved every bit of it.
“We’ve finally resorted to recruiting outside of Arrythmia,” Asmoday added. “And the potential proprietors are coming to town this evening. Should be here in time for dinner.”
Abruptly, he pressed his lips to mine. I opened, welcoming his forked tongue and all the pleasure it induced. When he pulled away, he was panting, his purple eyes glowing brightly.
Stroking my hair, he murmured, “I am seriously the luckiest guy on the planet.”
“You’re just saying that because of the boob sex earlier,” I teased. Although, admittedly, the boob sex was hot.
“That’s definitely part of it.” He winked. “Are you going to take the position River offered you?”
Asmoday had suggested we could run the bed and breakfast together, but I knew my talents were better put to use elsewhere.
River’s tattoo parlor would soon be a tattoo and piercing parlor. Asmoday had promised to be my first customer.
He wanted his mini dick pierced.
“I am.”
He cupped my face, staring into my eyes, all playfulness gone. “I want to spend the rest of my life with you. As mates.”
I offered up a wobbly smile. I had to blink rapidly; for some reason, my eyes were watering. My lust demon was such a romantic.
“I love you, Asmoday.”
“Daruka, I love you too. So much.”
He curled his arm around my waist, hauling me flush to his body. “You and me, Daruka. We’re a great team. And you know what?”
“What?” I was already breathless, already ready to shag him again. This man of mine. He claimed he was obsessed, but so was I.
“We’re going to live happily ever after.”
