Title #2

Silent now, Bane reached back into the box and pulled out a remote.

He gave Spencer no real answer but said, “We play, of course. Well, you are the contestant really. Just think of me as your host.” He leaned close to add, “...Of pain. Here are the rules: If you tell me the truth you won’t get zapped, but if you tell me a lie, you get a little bit of frying.

This remote goes to level five. I’ll start at level one and work my way up.

That’s only fair, ya know? Somewhere around three, is all I’ve ever had to go before the creeps I’ve used this on, crumble.

” He narrowed his eyes at Spencer and added, “But just so you know, three is very painful.”

James simply watched in utter curiosity. He loved to learn more about Bane as his levels and depths didn’t seem to stop.

“Now, shall we begin?” Bane gave Spencer one more chance as he paced back and forth. “What are the government men going to find in your warehouse?”

Spencer pressed his lips together tightly and just glared at him.

Bane moved closer and stared at him coldly. “Dare it is.” He hit the remote.

With a huge intake of breath, Spencer screamed in pain.

His body twitched as an electric current ran through him briefly.

Its main targets were the man’s nuts and lower belly.

The zap was strong enough to take his breath away and when it stopped he breathed hard in order to catch his breath.

“What— the actual fuck?” he whispered as he lowered his head.

Spencer screamed as his body started swinging.

Sam laughed like he just got to ride the best rollercoaster in the park. “What the hell?”

“I call it Elvira,” Bane explained. “And she sure as hell knows how to jolt them knockers.”

Mountain looked puzzled as he asked, “What the hell did you just do to him?”

Bane nodded at the remote. “We’re playing truth or dare. For every lie he tells me he gets a jolt in his belly. And he just lied about his men coming for him.”

James just shook his head. “Yeah... none of you want to know where the other half of that remote is, trust me.”

Pappy looked at Spencer and nodded. “The Feds raided the warehouse, they got there about fifteen minutes ago. They only ran into a little trouble with your guys. Seems you didn’t choose your men carefully enough, as soon the shooting started, they ran away like the pussy’s they are.”

“They never did that.” Spencer growled out.

“You’re right, not all of them ran. Some of them stayed. Then the lead cop told them over megaphone that all your money was frozen. And that they weren’t going to leave there alive. Your men broke ranks so fast they left skid marks in their pants.”

Spencer growled then began to scream threats at them all. “I will have you and your families killed! You can’t do this! I will get out and you will all pay!”

Bane shut him up with another jolt.

Pappy looked at Bane then over at Spencer. “The Marshalls raided your house too and they found something very interesting at your place.”

“Oh yeah, what was that?” Spencer snarled.

“They found your sister hiding in one of the closets.”

Spencer paused as he looked perplexed. “No, they didn’t. I have never met my sister.”

Pappy nodded. “I know, but they found her anyway. They have her in custody. Mother dearest sent her on a little mission of her own. Miranda sent her daughter to your house to kill you. Mommy Dearest wanted your branch of the family empire under her control and with you dead, she figured she could just take it.”

The wolves are at the door....

Bane reached out and flipped another switch and suddenly the men outside by the gate froze.

Shay stared at the screen. “What the hell did you just do?”

Bane didn’t say a word but he did open an intercom.

“Gentlemen, I wouldn’t move if I were you.

You are standing on a platform that will blow up if any one of you moves in the slightest. You almost got inside but the Wolf tattoo on your wrist gave the lot of you away.

I’m surprised you’re still around. I thought you only stood by a man when you got paid?

Spencer Wagner no longer has a cent to his name.

The government froze his bank accounts and the government found his spare cash as well.

That man can’t even buy a pack of gum now.

And I know you boys won’t risk your lives for a few bucks. ”

“And you’re a fucking liar,” one of the men shouted.

“Am I?” Bane scoffed. “You mean you didn’t know there was three million right there under your noses?

The first thing you’re supposed to do is a background check on the man who hired you to keep him safe.

If you knew anything about Spencer Wagner, you would know he’s always prepared.

For a man with no scruples, it only makes sense to have cash on hand where no one can find it. ”

“Just who the hell are you anyway?” another Wolf shouted out. “I’ve never seen you around here before and we’ve been here for a while now.”

Bane leaned into the mic and said, “My name is Bane...Bane Jessin and it is my property you are trespassing on.”

Shay and Bane watched the screen carefully.

Each of the men outside seemed to recall the name.

With a gasp, one of them took a step back.

Suddenly, a look of horror passed over the rest of their faces. Then a few seconds later there was a huge explosion and a loud blast as Bane’s threat became very real.

The explosion shook the house. But there were no sounds of breaking glass but they could all hear the debris rain down on the steel roof.

When everything settled, Shay and Bane stared at the screens.

The front door camera went black but Bane tapped the PC keyboard and found one still going.

It was in the trees. It showed a deep hole and the front gate was on the ground.

Its metal rungs were twisted and half buried.

Debris and dirt still rained down but there was no sign of any men other than a mess of blood saturating the ground.

Bane just shook his head. “Well, that’s going to be expensive to replace.”

Shay just turned his head and stared at Bane.

“Yes, but I imagine that won’t bother you much.

And I would feel bad but they aren’t going to be missed.

They wouldn’t have shown us any mercy had they gotten inside.

They will all face God or maybe Satan now.

But I hope that’s the last of the Blood Wolves we ever see. ”

Bane shook his head. “No Shay. I hate to say it but that isn’t the last of them, there are always more just as bad out there. I have kept an eye on them and there might be about fifty left. Now we’re down to one criminal still missing. Miranda Gayner. She’s the last one we have to find.”

Shay nodded. “And she may be the worst. If ever there was a black widow of an original sin, it would be her.”

“Oh, by the way.” Bane looked up at him and asked, “Who texted you about them being captured? Because whoever did that is either a traitor or they’ve been captured by the Blood Wolves.”

Shay went pale at this question as it hadn’t occurred to him yet. He then stated softly, “My brother Drew.”
