Chapter Nine

Matteo

The sensation of Luciana kissing me is a surprise. A pleasant one.

She initiated it, which is something I never thought she’d do.

Without hesitating, I kiss her back. For whatever the reason, she wants to kiss me and I’m not going to ruin this.

I desire Luciana. When I first saw her, I was content with marrying her even though it was for political gain and not love for her.

She’s been driving me crazy ever since we married but right now, I’m going to push aside my anger and enjoy this moment.

She kisses me like she wants to get lost in it. There’s a passion there. Anger. Happiness. Fear. I can’t tell.

After a moment, she pulls back, breathing heavy.

“What was that for?” I ask.

Her cheeks turn pink, which makes her cuter. “Nothing. I just…” I can see the moment she starts to pull back. Starts to put her walls up. Her spine tenses.

I’m not going to let that happen.

I scoop her up in my arms and carry her to the living room and set her down on the couch.

“Matteo?” she asks.

At least she’s calling me by my name instead of Mr. Marani. “I’m not going to let you pull away from me. You kissed me for a reason. What was the reason?”

“There was no reason. Isn’t a good wife supposed to kiss her husband?”

“There is a reason.” I kneel on the ground and grab her knees. Her eyes flick down to them and back up to my face. “You’re not telling me something. You tried to run from me. Why? And then you kissed me like that when you’ve been afraid of me. Tell me.”

“I didn’t run from you. I just wanted some freedom away from Enzo. That was all.”

I lean into her ear. “I don’t believe you.

” She gasps and the sound goes straight to my cock.

“But I know a way I can make you talk.” I shove her dress around her waist and tug her panties down before she can react.

When I touched her earlier, I noticed she was bare.

“For someone so innocent, I find it interesting you don’t have any hair down here. ”

I part her legs and swipe my finger up her slit. Her hips buck up as she gasps again.

“It’s proper for a woman to be clean shaven,” she whispers.

“So proper. How proper are you really, Luciana? Don’t you want to let go a little? Enjoy life for a moment?”

“That’s what I was trying to do when I left Enzo behind.”

“You were running. I have to make sure you don’t try and run again.” I grab her thighs and pull her to the edge of the couch. Luciana lets me put her feet on the edge and part her legs. Either she’s scared of what I’ll do or she wants this as much as I do. She’s not talking either way.

“Tell me why you kissed me,” I repeat.

She doesn’t say a word.

I part her legs more and bend down and press my nose to her inner thigh, inhaling her scent.

“Matteo,” she gasps, gripping the edge of the couch. “What are you doing?”

“I’m going to show you other ways you can experience pleasure.” I keep my eyes with hers as I run my tongue along her pussy. The mix of a gasp and a moan that escapes her lips makes my cock rock hard.

There’s confusion and excitement in her eyes. “You shouldn’t be doing this to me. It’s not right for people to put their mouths… there.”

“Is that what you were taught?” I lick over her nub and Luciana can’t stop herself from moaning softly. “It’s not inappropriate. People do it all the time. And now I’m going to do it to you. So lay back and enjoy it.” My tongue finds her folds and I lick and lick and lick.

God, she tastes like fruit and honey rolled into one. Luciana is a clean eater, I have observed over the week we’ve been married. I’m glad for it.

“Matteo,” she gasps again, sounding so surprised by this.

It makes me smirk. Her innocence is cute.

I didn’t need my wife to be a virgin and in some ways, it’s annoying that she is.

Her fear is making things hard. But I also appreciate that I’m the one who gets to show her these things.

That I’m the one who gets to see the light in her eyes for the first time as she learns that her body has no boundaries.

“Does this feel good?” I ask, swiping my tongue along her clit.

She pants harder. Her cheeks are flushed.

“Answer me,” I demand.

“Yes,” she whispers. “It feels good.”

I focus on her clit and flick it with my tongue until she’s practically whining.

“What are you doing to me?” she asks, staring at the ceiling. “Please. What are you doing to me?”

“I’m making you talk. I’m making you reveal more of yourself to me. So talk to me, Luciana.” I press my lips to her folds and her hips buck into my face. My hands grip her thighs, keeping her down. A growl escapes me as I eat her out. Fuck, she’s delicious.

My lips and tongue run all along her pussy. From her clit to her folds and finally down to her entrance. I slip my tongue inside of her.

Luciana’s eyes widen. “Oh! What are you doing? This is all so… it’s too much. Too fast.”

I bring my tongue in and out of her. She doesn’t push me away. Instead, she grabs the back of my head and pulls me in closer.

I eat her out shamelessly while she drives her hips closer to my face. She loves this. I can tell. Good.

My tongue touches her clit once more and I lick it over and over and over again. “It’s not too much. You don’t have to be afraid. Don’t be afraid.”

My eyes are locked with hers as I play with her clit. When my lips suckle on it, that’s when Luciana finally finds her release.

Her moan is soft as her eyes flutter closed. Her cheeks are flushed. Her body looks relaxed for once.

I press a kiss to her inner thigh before I pull back. “How was that? Answer me honestly. Honestly, Luciana.”

She presses her legs together and turns away from me. “Why do you do that?”

“Why do I do what?”

“Challenge me like this? Everything should be easy so why isn’t it easy for me?”

“You’re making it harder on yourself. Just be honest with me. Did you like it?”

“It’s not proper. What you just did,” she whispers. “I shouldn’t have enjoyed that.”

“But you did. So tell me. Tell me enjoyed it.”

Her eyes flash as she faces me again. “You don’t get to just demand answers from me.”

“I do when you’re my wife. Do you want me to tie you to the bed again? I will do anything it takes to get you to talk. Be honest with me,” I growl.

“I don’t have to tell you anything.”

I grab her waist and flip her onto her stomach before I spank her ass. With her panties still off, I can spank her entire bare backside.

Her cry is full of pain. “Why did you do that?”

“Tell me.”

“I can’t. I shouldn’t have liked that.”

“Luciana. Just tell me.” I spank her again. “Tell me if you liked it or not. Be honest with me.” Spank.

“I liked it!” she shouts so loud, her voice echoes through the room. “Are you happy? I liked it. I really liked it.”

“So what’s the problem then?”

She pulls away from me and puts her panties back into place. “Because I shouldn’t have liked it. You put your mouth on me.” She whispers the words, which only makes her more cute. “You’re not a good man. I shouldn’t have liked any of it.”

“But shouldn’t a good wife do what her husband wants?”

“Yes. But I still shouldn’t have liked it.”

I reach out to her and she flinches but relaxes when I only cup her face. “As your husband, I want you to enjoy it. You’re doing your duty to me by enjoying it. Stop fighting this so much. It’s going to kill you. I can tell you that it’s already killing me.”

“How?”

“Because I care for you, Luciana. I took my vows seriously. You are my wife now. I will always protect you. Just open up with me. So tell me. Why did you kiss me when I came home?”

She sighs and her shoulders slump like she’s trying to let all of her anger go. “Because I ran into this other mafia man.”

I tense. “What?”

“I’ve never seen him before. I accidently walked into his restaurant. He was… intimidating. I’m fine. Nothing bad happened. But when I came home, I felt.. relieved. Safe even. You still frighten me in some ways but at least I know you. I kissed you without even thinking about it. It just happened.”

“Who was this mafia man?”

“Dante Zaneli. That’s what he said his name was. I wasn’t sure if he was one of yours. He’s not one of Gabriel’s. I would have recognized him otherwise.”

“Dante Zaneli. I’ve heard of him. He’s an up and coming mafia man. Gaining ground but he hasn’t caused any problems. Yet. This is why I don’t want you running away. You could have been hurt.”

“I told you,” she says, pulling away from my hands, “I just needed some space from Enzo. That was all. I needed time to think on my own. I wasn’t running from you. Please don’t hurt my father over this.”

The pain in her voice draws me up short. She’s truly worried I’ll kill him. I know I did threaten him but that was before Luciana and I were married. I thought we were past all of that by now.

“I have no plans to hurt your father. That would hurt our peace deal. Believe me on that, Luciana. Take my word for it.”

“How can I trust your word?”

“It’s all you have. And have I tried to kill your father since we’ve been married?”

“No,” she mutters.

“Exactly. I haven’t and I won’t. Just promise me you won’t run away again. I don’t want you to get hurt.”

“Truly?” There’s a small flicker of light in her eyes that pains me. She really thought I didn’t care for her.

“Yes. I mean it. And you don’t have to fight so hard to go against me. Give in to us. Your life will be happier. I know mine will be.”

She stares down at her lap for a long moment. “I want to be a good wife.”

“So you’ve said.”

“No. I mean, I was taught to be perfect and I feel like I’m failing every day. It’s why I keep fighting you. I don’t know what else to do. I thought my life would go one way and instead, it’s gone the opposite.”

“But you were raised to be married.”
