Chapter Eight

Dante

I’m fucking pissed. And jealous. Pissed and jealous.

Sienna kept looking at Jack for the entire dinner party. I don’t want Sienna looking at other handsome men. I want her only looking at me.

I sit in my home office with a glass of whiskey, stewing on my feelings. Why should I care if Sienna looks at another man? I have never cared about that before. I would fuck tons of women only for them to move on to another man soon after and it would never bother me.

And yet, Sienna is bothering me. She’s getting under my skin.

And I still want to kiss her.

Fuck.

She was just supposed to be my captive. My kidnapped victim who I would toy with and then toss away. But now I want her to be mine and only mine. I want my cock to be the one inside of her, not some fucking dildo. I want my hands on her.

I want to kiss her.

I shake the thought from my head. Getting too attached is bad. It’s a weakness. The reason I can be so chaotic in life is because I have no weaknesses. No attachments. Sienna cannot become that for me.

I finish off my glass of whiskey and set it on the desk. Empty now. Just like my body. My being. I only get in these moods when I’ve had something to drink. It’s always been a depressing hobby of mine.

Since I can’t get Sienna off my mind, I go into her room and watch her sleep. Naked under the covers. I didn’t make her take her dress off from the party. I only locked her in the room after it was done, fully clothed.

She chose to get naked.

My dirty, bad girl. Sienna is consistently a surprise that I don’t know how to account for. I thought she would be crying and screaming the entire time. Instead, she’s given herself into the pleasure I can show her.

Well, the fucking dildo. Not me. Not my actual hands or body.

Would she welcome that? Would she moan if she came on my cock? Or would she prefer the fakeness of the dildo?

I was trying to have fun with her. Trying to show her pleasure without actually touching her. It created a distance between us but now… now I’m wondering if I want that distance to continue. I’m not sure I want that at all.

I back out of the room and lock the door again. Even though she gave into the pleasure I showed her tonight in front of my guests, it doesn’t mean I trust her not to run. Sienna is unpredictable. She could try to kill me for all I know.

It’s better she remains locked away as my prisoner. We need clear cut boundaries or I might just give in and kiss her.

And that’s the last thing I can let happen.

Despite Gabriel hounding me, I don’t let him stop me from conducting business.

I return to my restaurant with four guards with me just to be safe.

Even though I may be crazy, I’m not stupid.

Gabriel could attack at any moment and kill me and where would be the fun in that? I can’t have Sienna if I’m dead.

I settle into the back booth of my restaurant. The first man I am seeing today is Joe, an American who didn’t settle his debts to me when he came here on vacation with his family.

Joes sits across from me, trembling. A skinny, scared looking man. It’s a miracle anyone would want to procreate with him.

“Just pay me what you owe,” I say.

“But I don’t have the money,” he cries, burying his face into his hands.

“Then you shouldn’t have borrowed money from me. Now, I would hate to put your kids in danger, Joe. Absolutely hate it. So find a way to pay me the money by the end of the week and your kids are safe.”

“But I don’t have the money! Please. There has to be a way for us to work this out.”

“There was. I loaned you the money because you said you were good for it. Claimed you were a rich American. I decided to believe it.”

“Why did you believe me?”

I snort. “I didn’t actually. I knew you were lying but I like to have fun with people, Joe.

That’s what you didn’t know about me when you made that deal with me.

So now you owe me money. I would hate to kill your kids.

Children are cute. I don’t delight in their deaths.

I typically only delight in the deaths of adults who have wronged me somehow. And you have wronged me, Joe.”

“So then kill me,” he sobs. “Not my kids.”

I lean back in my seat, stretching my arms and legs out.

I have all the power here. It feels fucking good.

“But then who would pay me the money that’s owed to me if you’re dead?

So find it and get it to me by the end of the week.

And I promise I won’t go after your kids.

Hell, I’ll leave you alone too. I won’t need you anymore. What do you say?”

His eyes widen. “Really?”

“Really. Just get me the money and then we can all move on from our lives. You can leave your vacation behind here and return to your normal life. What do you say?”

“Thank you. Thank you.” He grabs my hands and kisses them. I rip them away.

“Don’t mistake my generosity for kindness. I just have bigger fish to deal with right now. So go.”

Joe stumbles out of the booth and runs out of the restaurant right as Gabriel enters.

He’s with four guards himself.

“You better not think about firing those guns,” I comment.

Without a word, Gabriel sits down across from me. “You want to make a deal? Make a deal with me that suits you better. Just let Sienna go.”

“What deal would suit me better?”

“You don’t have to marry her. Just let her go.

I didn’t realize that trying to make a marriage deal would insult you so much.

I thought you would take it as an honor.

Because that’s what I intended. But if you don’t want to marry Sienna, then we can come with a different deal.

One where you don’t feel like I’m controlling you. Just let Sienna go first.”

I stare at Gabriel for a long moment before I laugh. “You think I’m just going to agree to that? I’m having too much fun with Sienna to just let her go.”

“I will kill you, Dante. I will have to if you don’t let her go or marry her. Make a deal with me. We can have peace. We can be equals. I will not control you. That is my promise but you have to work with me on this.”

“See, the thing is… I don’t want to work with you on this, Gabriel. I don’t want to work with you at all and I’m insulted you would think otherwise. No deal.”

“My men could kill you right now.”

“And so could my men,” I retort. “And we both know it.”

Gabriel’s eyes narrow. My eyes flick to his guards behind him. All of their guns are visible in their belts. I’m sure Gabriel can see the same thing with my guards behind me. “Let her go, Dante. Or this will end badly for you.”

“I’ll let her go when I’m dead. That is if you find her first.”

“It won’t be hard to find out where you live.”

I lean over the table until my face is close to his. “So why haven’t you done it yet?”

He sneers and gets up and walks out without another word. I guess he said everything he needed to say.

For the rest of the day, I can’t get what Gabriel said out of my head. Not even when I’m having fun mentally torturing the people who come to see me. The people like Joe who owe me money.

I return home, whistling to myself as I walk through the doorway… only to find Sienna in the foyer, on the floor, covered in blood.

Sienna

When my bedroom door unlocks, I’m expecting it to be Dante on the other side. Who else would it be?

But it’s not Dante. It’s Edward, the man from the party last night. The man Dante insulted. The one with the bad mood and large stomach.

“What are you doing here?” I ask, clutching the blanket to my chest. I should have kept my dress on but it was more comfortable to sleep naked. Now, I’m regretting that. “Where is Dante?”

“Dante isn’t here right now.”

“So how did you get in?”

“I know the way through Dante’s maze. He doesn’t know that. It was easy to get inside. Arrogant bastard. He mocked me. You mocked me. Why did you make that face when I suggested touching you?”

“What face?” I whisper.

He scrunches his nose up in disgust. “This face. Why did you make it?”

“I… I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to offend you.”

“But you did.” He storms into the room and grabs my arms. I scream as he drags me from the bed. My body flops onto the ground, hard.

“I’m sorry!” I scream. Dante doesn’t come which tells me Dante isn’t here. I’m on my own.

Why would I even want Dante to come anyway? He’s taken me prisoner. He’s not my savior.

Edward slams his fist right into my cheek. Pain radiates into my head, making me woozy. “If I want to touch you, then I have that right.”

“Please,” I sob.

He kicks me in the stomach. Pain isn’t an accurate enough word to describe what I’m feeling.

When Edward pulls his foot back to kick me again, I push myself to my feet and take off running down the hallway. I make it to the foyer before he grabs me and throws me onto the hard marble floor. And that’s when he starts kicking me. And kicking me.

I’m not even sure where exactly he’s hurting me. It’s just… everywhere.

I cough up blood. It splatters onto the white floor. A stark contrast in color.

“You know what’s terrible? Dante invited me to that party last night.

And he denied me the chance to touch you.

You looked disgusted at the thought of me touching you.

That hurt, you know. You should really consider other people’s feelings.

” Kick right to my back. “But you didn’t do that.

” Kick to my stomach. “You thought I was disgusting. Who’s disgusting now? ” Kick to my face.

It all just hurts. Everywhere. Anywhere.

There’s no end to it.

The sound of a car outside makes Edward stop. “Shit. He’s back.” Edward runs away from me and out the back door.

Dante enters and freezes when he sees me on the floor. “Sienna.” He’s methodical as he walks towards me. “What happened?”

I can only cry from all the pain.

He kneels down beside me and looks me over. From his expression, I can tell it’s not good. “Who did this to you?”

“Ed… Edward.”
