19. Aiden

Aiden

Bailey was already asleep when our friends left last night, so we haven’t had a chance to talk about the events of last night.

I carried Blue to bed after everyone had left.

When I went to leave the bedroom, not wanting to assume I could sleep in her bed despite the number of times I’ve done exactly that, she reached a hand for me and mumbled a sleepy, ‘stay.’ I was too weak to refuse her, so I changed into a pair of basketball shorts and a thin t-shirt and crawled into bed beside her.

When I woke up still cradling her from behind, a stupid smile plastered itself on my face. I had to shift my hips to avoid pressing my erection into her.

I feel Bailey shift, but I tighten my arms so she can’t move. I press my face into the crook of her neck before saying, “Good morning, Blue.” My voice is still thick with sleep.

“Good morning, Bear. How did you sleep?” Her voice is raspy with sleep. I smile into her skin, soaking in the warmth. I’m not entirely convinced I’m not sleeping right now, this has to be a dream.

“Best sleep of my life.” I press a kiss to her neck.

A small moan slips from her lips and she turns in my arms so she is facing me.

We stare at each other for a few moments before I press my mouth to hers.

Her mouth immediately opens and I tangle my tongue with hers.

I slot my leg in between hers, and the groan that falls from her lips as she grinds her pussy down onto my leg has me on the verge of orgasm.

The last thing I want to do is cum in my pants at the first brush of her against my dick, but I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what I am going to do.

“Fuck, Blue, we should slow down.” I say, pulling myself away from her. It’s actually painful how hard I am right now, but we have things to talk about before things go too far.

Bailey flops down on her back. “You’re right.” Her cheeks flushed, lips swollen and red from our kiss. She looks sexy as fuck, and it’s almost hard to look at her when she looks like that and not go right back to finishing what we started.

“How are you feeling about last night?” I say, pushing a flyaway piece of hair behind her ear.

“A little overwhelmed, but in a good way.” She gives me a sweet smile. “How are you feeling?”

“You saying you love me was a dream come true. I have spent every day since I was four years old loving you in one way or another,” I cup her cheek, my thumb running back and forth on her cheek. “And I know I will spend the rest of my life falling deeper and deeper in love.”

“Aiden,” She gasps. “Since you were four?”

“Bailey, you have no idea. Momma can tell you, I walked right into the house the day we met and declared that I’d just met the prettiest girl in the world and that I was going to marry her someday.

” I chuckle, because Momma will never let me live that down.

She likes to remind me of those words whenever she catches me staring at Bailey.

“Wow,” She says. “I don’t know when my feelings started, but it was probably around the time all the girls in our class decided you were the cutest boy in school. I realized I hated the idea of any of them with you.”

“We are quite the pair aren’t we?” I shake my head.

“We wasted so much time,” Her voice is sad.

I cup the back of her neck and look straight into her eyes.

“Hey, we can’t change the past. All we can do is push forward.

I can’t wait to see where we go from here.

I know we have a lot to talk about. This will be new, but I’ll be damned if I spend a single second regretting any of my time with you.

There isn’t a single moment I would change, Blue.

” I press a quick kiss to her lips, “You’re still going to be my best friend, I just get to kiss you whenever I want, now. ”

She laughs and kisses me again. We spend a few minutes just kissing, hands roaming before Bailey has to rush to use the bathroom.

I flop down on my back when she shuts the door to her en suite and smile at the ceiling.

I can’t believe this is my life. Bailey loves me.

If I’m dreaming, please don’t pinch me. I don’t ever want to wake up.

Two hours later, the girls have picked up Bailey, and I’m gathering my things to settle at the kitchen table and work on some homework. I’ve just set everything down when I feel my phone buzz in the pocket of my joggers. Pulling it out, I see my mom’s name lighting up the screen.

“Hey, Momma. How are you?” I say as I put it up to my ear.

“Don’t you ‘Hey Momma’ me–,” she says, her voice sharp over the phone. “Why did I hear from your brother that he walked in on you kissing Bailey last night?” I’m going to fucking kill Maddox.

“I wasn’t hiding it from you or anything, I was going to call you a little bit later.

Bailey and I had a lazy morning talking about everything, and I just sat down to work on homework.

I was going to call you when I needed a break.

Should have known that waiting wasn’t an option in this family—” I roll my eyes even though she can’t see me.

“But yes, Bailey and I kissed last night. We are still trying to figure everything out, but I think it’s going to be good. ”

“Okay, so what did happen last night? I want to know everything—well, leave out the dirty details, please. I’m a cool mom, but not that cool.” She laughs at her own joke.

I go through the events of the day, starting with the trip to the grocery store and ending with our friends interrupting our kiss.

A smile overtakes my face as I remember those three little words falling from Bailey’s lips.

I will remember that moment for the rest of my life.

“We talked more this morning, and we want to see where this goes. So much about our relationship is going to change, but it’s also not.

I mean, she is still my best friend, still the person I want to tell everything to, but there is this new layer there. ”

“Oh Aiden. I am so happy for you guys.” She sniffles. Of course my mom is crying right now. “I know you’ve loved that girl your entire life. I’m honestly surprised I never figured out that Bailey loves you, too. That makes me so happy.”

“I know I won’t be able to stop you from calling her, but when you do, be gentle, Momma,” I say.

“She seems okay, but she mentioned being scared last night. I’m fairly sure she’s scared that if something happens between us and it doesn’t work out, she will not only lose me, but our entire family as well. ”

“Doesn’t that girl know by now that if something were to happen, and y’all weren’t friends anymore we’d pick her in the divorce.

” She laughs. My mother laughs, like talking about disowning me is funny.

I mean, I wouldn’t blame them, I’d let them throw me out to keep Bailey if the worst case scenario happened, but really?

She could at least pretend like she’d be sad about it.

“I expect nothing less.” I reply to her, my tone dripping in sarcasm.

We chat a little longer, catching up and going over a few things for the baby shower. Once we hang up, I get to work on the homework I have due this weekend. I want to be mostly caught up by the time the girls get back. I want to take Bailey out on our first real date tonight.

This might not be the first date Bailey ever goes on, but it’s mine.

I’ve known Bailey was the one for me since I was four, so I never gave other girls the time of day.

Plenty tried to get my attention, whether by pretending to be Bailey’s friend, going through my siblings, or just outright flirting, but nothing ever worked.

Bailey is the one, I’ve always known it.
