22. Dax
DAX
Dear Diary,
Apparently even I do what Luca tells me.
Luca came out of the bathroom first.
I raised a questioning eyebrow at him, and he walked right over to me, not bothering to lower his voice despite the client lying on the table beside me.
“She’s going to beg you to fuck her. Don’t.”
And then he turned around and walked out.
I stared after him.
Jason, the man I’d been tattooing for the past two hours, lifted his head to look at me wide-eyed.
I was fucking mortified. “I’m really sorry about that. That was so unprofessional.”
I was going to kill Luca when I finished this piece. I had no idea what was going on with him and Nyah, or how things had escalated to whatever this was in the short time since I’d left them this morning.
But Nyah was indeed standing across the room in the entrance way to the bathrooms and motioning for me to go over there.
Jason chuckled. “Go, man. Do what you need to do. Looks like your woman needs you.”
Jesus fuck. I put the tattoo gun down and pulled off my gloves. “I will literally be one minute.”
Jason snorted. “That’s not much of a testament to your stamina, bro.”
“I’m not fucking her,” I hissed at him. “I’m just going to talk to her.”
Jason studied her and grinned. “Man, I’ll fuck her if she’s desperate.”
I glared at him. “Don’t ever say that again.”
He shrugged. “How was I supposed to know you share with the suit but not with everyone?”
I needed him to stop talking and I needed Nyah to stop looking at me with flushed cheeks and swollen lips.
I hurried over there. “What the hell is going on with you and Luca? I’m trying to work.”
She didn’t answer. Just fit her fingers to the back of my neck and kissed me.
And fuck me, even though I was annoyed with them, I couldn’t resist her. I kissed her back. But I pulled away before I really wanted to. “Nyah…”
She leaned in and whispered in my ear, “I’ve got a plug in. And I need you to fuck me while I’m wearing it.”
My dick got hard in an instant, realizing what they’d been doing in there while I’d been tattooing Jason’s back.
She dragged me into the bathroom, kissing me again, her hand finding the bulge in my pants and rubbing me there.
Which did absolutely nothing to help my dick stay under control.
I groaned over her lips, and when the door shut behind me and she flipped her dress up, showing me her perfect ass with the addition of a plug with a pretty pink jewel on the end, I had to close my eyes and breathe deeply in order not to come right there and then.
She gripped the sink and widened her stance, staring at me, eyes begging to give her what she wanted.
And yet, I knew it would be so much better if I made her wait.
On that one thing at least, Luca and I were on the same page.
I really couldn’t leave a tattoo half done either. I wasn’t even fully convinced Jason wasn’t out there pilfering cash out of the register. There was literally no one else out there to stop him. My brothers weren’t due in ’til the afternoon.
I leaned back on the bathroom door. “I’m not fucking you.”
She gaped at me. “Why not?”
“Because Luca told me not to.”
Her mouth dropped open, and then she shook her head. “He is such an asshole!”
I crossed the small space between us and gently tugged her skirt down to cover her ass.
“Yeah, he is. But think how good it’s going to be when we get back to the clubhouse and you’ve been thinking about it the whole time.
” I groped her backside. “I’m going to be hard until I can get back there, just knowing you’ve got that plug in. ”
She pouted at me, but I kissed it off her face.
When she moved away, she scowled at me. “You two do know I could just make myself come, don’t you?”
I groaned at the thought of it but then shook my head. “You won’t. Because you know it’ll be better if you wait for us.”
She huffed grumpily, and it was so fucking cute I kissed her again.
I found her panties on the floor and pulled them up her legs, fitting them back in place, and then slapped her on the ass to get her moving toward the door.
“I’m calling Lynx to pick you up. I need to finish up the line work on this tattoo and then I’ll cancel the rest of my day. ”
She giggled. “You’re cancelling the rest of your day to have sex?”
“Fuck yes, I am. Do you have any idea how good your ass looks with that little gem sitting there between your cheeks? I’m not missing that.”
She flushed pink and then twisted her fingers in my shirt. “Thank you.”
“What for?”
She shrugged. “You’re really good at making me feel wanted.”
I enclosed her in my arms, hugging her close.
“Because I’ve never wanted anyone the way I want you, Nyah.
I hope you know that. No matter what happens, that’s never going to change.
No matter who else you want in our bed. If that’s Lynx and Luca, or the entire Saint View hockey team, I’m always going to be here. ”
A coy smile played around my lips. “Are you saying you’d like to see me with an entire hockey team of men?”
I answered her honestly. “If that’s what turned you on, then yeah, I would.”
Too many men had tried to clip her wings.
But she wasn’t made for captivity.
She was made to be free.
And my gut told me my only job was to let her be. She’d keep coming back to me, as long as I never tried to put her in a cage.
She touched her lips to mine. “You turn me on.”
I felt the truth in her words every time she kissed me.
I had to drag myself out of the bathroom, but she came willingly, sticking close beside me while I walked her out into the studio area.
Jason glanced over at us with his phone at his ear. He said something quickly and then ended the call, smiling in our direction. “Enjoy your fuck?”
Nyah looked at me with shocked, wide eyes.
I shook my head and patted the table. “There was no fucking. Get back up here and let me finish that tattoo.”
Jason winked at Nyah. “You know, if Dax and the suit aren’t satisfying you—in the bathroom or elsewhere—there’s others who will.”
“This is mortifying,” Nyah whispered to me.
I pointed at the massage table I used for back pieces that required the client to lie for an extended period of time. “Put your head in the hole, Jason. She wouldn’t touch you if you paid her.”
Jason laughed, settling back down in position. “I couldn’t afford that anyway, after what you’re charging me for this piece.”
I sniggered and kissed Nyah. “Call Lynx and get him to come pick you up, yeah?”
She nodded and went over to the waiting area to make the call.
“Aw, don’t leave yet,” Jason complained. “I was enjoying riling Dax up.”
I sat on the stool beside him and pushed his head back down in the hole. “Be quiet or I’ll change up this design on the fly and give you a marmoset instead of a lion.”
“What the fuck is a marmoset?” Jason’s voice was muffled from trying to talk with his face surrounded by the padded table.
“Stop talking and you won’t have to find out.”
Nyah giggled, but Lynx must have answered at the same time because she spoke to him quietly and then flashed me a thumbs-up, indicating he was coming to pick her up.
I started up Jason’s tattoo again and listened to him babble shit, but I kept sneaking little glances over at Nyah.
She was watching me too.
I loved the way I felt when she watched me work. She never hid the admiration she had for my art, and just having her here, knowing she was mine again, was doing things to my insides that made it so fucking hard to not go back on my promise of making her wait for it.
It was almost a relief when Lynx stopped out front on his bike, and Nyah blew me a kiss, before running out to join him.
And even though I watched her lean against him and kiss his lips, I didn’t feel an ounce of jealousy.
When Jason had made comments about fucking her, I’d wanted to kill him. And yet when she kissed Lynx, all I felt was how much I loved her.
I knew the difference. One was the desire to kill any man who wanted to touch her without her permission.
The other was happily giving her anything she wanted. Including other men.
Because watching her last night, watching her feel sexy and wanted and confident, I’d known my place. It was to build her up. To always support her.
Jason lifted his bald head and watched her walk out, a frown on his face.
“She was never going to fuck you, Jason. Don’t look so disappointed,” I said dryly.
He glanced over at me. “More’s the pity, huh? I don’t know how you do it though. Watching her kiss other men. If I had a woman like that, I wouldn’t want to share.”
I pushed his head down again. “You don’t though. So be quiet and let me finish your piece.”
The familiar buzz of the tattoo gun vibrated through my fingers, and I started up my work again, a lot less distracted now Nyah was gone, even though Jason’s endless yacking didn’t help.
I focused on tracing the lines I’d already stenciled onto his back and enjoyed the peace that settled over me as I chipped away at it.
My head had been a mess for the past couple of months, ever since we’d found my mom’s body outside the Slayers’ gates.
But life didn’t stop because she wasn’t here.
We’d buried her in a small, private service that had only been attended by me, my brothers, and father, and then we’d had to go on with our lives, even though there was a gaping hole in them I doubted would ever truly close.
I knew in my heart she would want nothing more than for me to be here for Nyah, taking care of her and the baby we were having, not sinking into a depression over the sickening way we’d lost her.
I squeezed my eyes tight, those images rushing back into my head, and I wiped my brow with the back of my arm to clear the sweat suddenly beading there.
I’d later blame that moment of stomach-churning grief for the fact I didn’t see the three men coming. I heard the bell over the shop’s door.
Took a breath, trying to get myself together enough to greet a new client.
And by the time I looked up, they were already on me, shoving a bag down over my head and tightening it around my neck until I could barely breathe.
