Chapter Twenty-Nine Devil

Chains and I have been sitting at this lab for a couple of hours now, but it feels like fucking forever.

I hate that I’m here in this situation. Not because I hate the fact that it is possible for Whip to be my kid, but that it’s possible another bitch didn’t tell me about another one of my kids.

Whip’s twenty nine years old and he in no way needs any help growing up so I missed everything.

I mean shit, I had seen him around the clubhouse since Thorn started bringing him home, but that’s not the same as having him be a part of your family.

I already hate the fact that I didn’t get to see Rage grow until he was eight years old after his bitch of a mother died.

I know I am the one to blame for these situations because I fucked these bitches, but you would think they would have some sense of decency to tell the father of their baby about them.

So I’m angry, angry that I’m here again and angry because I think I might be this boy's father.

He’s built like me, the hair color is me, the only difference is the eye color.

The fact that I never paid attention to that before is crazy.

So I am sitting here and hoping that we get this done soon so I can call him with the news and figure shit out.

“So what do you think, brother?” Chains asks me after a long silence.

“Honestly, I don’t know Chains. I think it is possible he could be mine. I talked a little to Bulldog last night and I think if this boy is mine then I’m hunting his mama down and killing him from what Bulldog told me last night.

And what he shared he told me wasn’t even all of it because Whip never opens up to anybody about his childhood. What are you thinking?”

“Again, I don’t know. I feel like if he looks like anyone it is more you than me. But I’m not going to rule it out. There are some similarities. I’ve heard he hasn’t had a good upbringing and honestly, the mother is one big bitch for keeping him in an environment that he was not wanted.

He should’ve been given to the club.”

I nod my head and begin to open my mouth when the doors open. Our guy comes out and looks around spotting us. He heads over and shakes our hands.

“So we looked at all three DNA samples and did comparisons. Tyler, he is yours. You are his father.”

Chains claps me on the back and I look at him before looking back at our lab guy.

“Thank you for rushing this. We really appreciate it.”

“You’re welcome and congratulations on being a daddy again. I’m sorry that you just now found out. He seems like a good man though.”

“He is.”

With that Chains and I head out to our bikes.

“I’ve got to call Whip and Liz.”

“Yeah, probably wise to let the ol’ lady know I am not the father. She was definitely really shocked last night when I got the call. But she loves Whip, so she would’ve been alright with it no matter what he’s already family. How’s Liz taking it?”

“I really didn’t get time to talk to Liz about it. I know I should’ve, but when I got the call last night she was in bed. Then this morning with everything with the kids this morning she was busy. So I figured I’d tell her once I knew everything.”

“Well good luck with that.” He chuckles.

Yeah, I think she’ll be fine with it. She loves Whip as is right now. It will just be adding another boy to the mix. So before I head out I decide to make the two phone call I need to and probably a text to my two oldest boys.

Me: Call me when you get this. Or come by the house tonight.

I then dial Whip’s number and after four rings it goes to voicemail.

I know he should be at Briarfield by now so it is weird he didn’t answer me when he’s expecting a call from me.

I have a very uneasy feeling so I pull up Peyton’s number.

I know she’s got classes today, but she might be able to get in touch with someone to see if he made it to the clubhouse.

“Hello?”

“Hey Peyton, sweetie. It’s Devil.”

“Oh hey! What’s going on is everything okay?”

“Well that’s kind of what I was hoping you could tell me. I’ve tried to get in touch with Whip and he knew I was going to call him when we got the test results. He hasn’t answered and he told me he was headed your way to see the babies.

Is there any way you can call someone and see if he made it to the clubhouse?”

“Um. Yeah. Let me call Knox and see if he’s seen him or if any of the brothers have. Then I’ll call the daycare and see if he showed up to see the triplets.”

“Alright, please call me back as soon as you hear anything.”

“I will and Devil?”

“Yeah sweetheart.”

“I’m glad it’s you, he deserves a dad like you.”

“Thanks Peyton.”

With that we hang up and I send him a message.

Me: hey, call me. Want to make sure you’re okay and we got the results back.

Chains looks at me, “They haven’t heard from him?”

“I don’t know Peyton is going to get in touch with Fang and then the daycare. I’m going to call Liz, can you call Terror and let him know what’s going on. Probably also Thorn too, he’s going I want to know what’s going on with his best friend.”

Chains nods his head as I pull up my wife’s contact information. It rings twice before she answers.

“Hey Tyler, what a nice surprise. What’s going on?”

“Are you busy right now, baby?”

“No, do I need to go to the office and sit down for this conversation.”

“Probably.”

I hear her sigh on the other end of the phone and tell someone she’ll be back. After waiting a couple of minutes she tells me she’s ready to talk.

“So, I wanted to tell you last night, but you were sleeping when I got the phone call and then this morning was hectic with the kids. Whip found out from his mother last night that the man he thought was his dad wasn’t.

That his mom during the time that Ray was locked up came and became a club whore for Chaos.”

“Oh fuck, Tyler. Are you kidding me?”

“No baby, listen. We got a DNA test done today. I’m his father.”

“Damn it Ty! Why do you get these bitches pregnant who don’t know how to tell you before the baby is here that you are going to be a daddy. I’ve heard shit about his childhood. Shit could’ve been so much better for him.”

“Yeah I know and that makes me want to kill that bitch of a mother of his all the more.”

“You know Caleb is going to have a lot of feelings about this. Have you told him yet?”

“No, but I know he was with Whip last night when my name was mentioned and he went off grid after they got back to the clubhouse.”

“Fuck, Tyler.”

“Listen Liz, I don’t know, okay. I don’t know why Caleb would be upset about this. The people that should be upset are Cooper and myself. We missed out on that time. Caleb is twenty seven years old and I know that before I found out about him I did a lot of shit I shouldn’t have,

but once I got him I tried to settle down. Yes, the bitch that had his little brother wasn’t great. She was horrible and I didn’t know until it was too late. Then she left and I swear if I knew how she treated him I would’ve killed her. But then I found you and look at how you treated my boys.

You were the mother I always wanted for them. Something else is going on with him and he refuses to talk about it. I can’t help him if he doesn’t talk to me.”

Before she can say anything my phone beeps with an incoming call, I pull it away and see that it is Peyton.

“Listen, Liz, something's wrong. Nobody can find Cooper, I’ve got to take this call.”

I hang up and answer Peyton.

“So he’s not here Devil. Are you sure he’s not at the Chaos clubhouse. Just last night he told me he was going to stay there til he figured everything out.”

“He told Chains and I he wanted to get to Briarfield to see the babies so he left after the test was done. So I guess he changed his mind about not coming home right away. We’ve let your brother know. I’m sure it’s fine, sweetie. We will find him.”

“Okay, please let me know what is going on. I’ve got another class, but I’m freaking out.”

“Peyton, go to class. We will find him. I promise. I won't let anything happen to our boy, okay?”

We hung up the phone and I looked at Chains, “We need to get back to the clubhouse.”

“I’ve already called Terror, Thorn and Wiz. Hopefully by the time we get there we will have some answers.”

We head out of the parking lot and I pray that I didn’t just lose my boy before I got him.
