CHAPTER THIRTEEN

Hunter edges me six more times over the next hour. By the sixth time, I’m a writhing, begging mess.

“Please,” I sob. “Please let me come. I’ll do anything.”

“Anything?” he asks.

“Anything,” I promise.

“Tell me you’re sorry for disobeying me,” he says.

“I’m sorry,” I gasp.

“Tell me you won’t do it again,” he says.

“I won’t do it again,” I say, even though we both know that’s probably a lie.

“Tell me you’re mine,” he says.

“I’m yours,” I say. “Only yours. Please, Hunter, please.”

“Since you asked so nicely,” he says as he starts applying steady pressure to my clit.

I come instantly, crying out his name as pleasure crashes over me.

He doesn’t stop though. He keeps going, pushing me through one orgasm and into another.

“Hunter,” I gasp. “I can’t—”

“You can,” he says. “And you will. This is your punishment, remember? For being such a disobedient little brat.”

He makes me come three more times before he finally stops.

I’m shaking, oversensitive, completely wrung out.

He unties me and gathers me into his arms.

“You okay?” he asks softly.

“Mm-hmm,” I manage.

He chuckles and kisses my forehead. “Good girl. You took your punishment well.”

“Am I forgiven?” I ask.

“For now,” he says. “But if you pull another stunt like that, next time will be even worse.”

“Promise?” I ask with a weak smile.

He laughs. “You’re impossible.”

“You love it,” I say.

“I do,” he admits. “I really do.”

We lie there for a while, just holding each other.

“Hunter?” I say eventually.

“Yeah?”

“What happens after this?” I ask.

“What do you want to happen?” he asks.

“I want to stay,” I admit. “But I don’t want to just be... I don’t know. Your live-in girlfriend or whatever.”

“What do you want to be?” he asks.

“I want to be your partner,” I say. “Your equal. I want to have a life and a career and my own identity. Not just exist in your shadow.”

“I would never want you to exist in my shadow,” he says. “I love how strong and independent you are. Even when it drives me crazy.”

“So you’d be okay with me working?” I ask.

“Of course,” he says. “What did you have in mind?”

“I don’t know yet,” I admit. “But I want to figure it out. I want to build something of my own.”

“Then we’ll figure it out together,” he says. “Whatever you want to do, I’ll support you.”

“Really?” I ask.

“Really,” he says. “As long as you come home to me at the end of the day, you can do whatever makes you happy.”

“I like that,” I say, snuggling closer to him.

“Good,” he says. “Because you’re stuck with me now.”

“I can handle that,” I say, smiling.

“Can you?” he asks, rolling me onto my back suddenly and pinning my wrists above my head. “Even when I’m demanding and controlling and punishing you for being a little brat?”

“Especially then,” I say with a grin.
