Chapter 5 KODY MCAROY

KODY MCAROY

Slowly, I sipped my drink while Tina threw her ass in a circle in front of me.

Her ass was so fat that my large hands couldn’t even grab the shit.

She gripped the pole erected in the middle of my section and seductively twirled around it.

The smile on her face was big as fuck because she knew I would be in her bed tonight.

Not all night, of course. Just until I busted. Then, I would be out.

Black Dream was filling up quickly. The nightclub I owned alongside my sister, Kim, was only one of our lucrative business ventures.

Kim held a master’s degree in finance, while I held a master’s degree in engineering.

We vowed to remain a team until our dying breaths.

We’d been locked in since the womb, and we also vowed to never let anyone, or anything come between us—not business, not pride, and definitely not another muthafucka.

Tina came over and kneeled in front of me. The look in her eyes was obvious. She was in heat and wanted me to put out the flames. Smirking, I took another sip of my drink. Rolling her light eyes at my nonchalance, she stood and went back to the pole.

Tina was beautiful. I’d known her since high school, and for the longest, she tried getting with me. I never could take her seriously, though. She was too accustomed to begging for any nigga’s attention. That shit was cool with other niggas, not with me.

My trust in people outside my circle wasn’t even under construction. It was dead and never returning. After killing my pops and uncles, I learned the hard way that even family was trifling as fuck. So, anyone outside of Roy and Kim, I wasn’t too inclined to trust them to do the right thing by me.

I was a nigga in this shit by myself, and I was cool with that. There was no need for a woman other than to fuck her. There was no need for new partnerships, friendships, or any of that shit. I was content with my life.

What about kids?

The thought propelled me to take a heftier swig of my drink.

Killing off my bloodline was crazy. Inwardly, I chuckled because I would do it all again to preserve my family’s honor and respect.

Kim and I were left to continue our family’s legacy, and neither of us were rushing to do so.

One of us had to get our shit together, or everything we built was going to go up in flames.

My eyes focused on a woman moving past my VIP section.

She was petite, but her frame filled out a pair of baggy cargo, mid-rise denim jeans.

Her bare, flat stomach held a hint of carved abs that caused my mouth to water.

Diamonds glistened along her waist from the waist beads she wore.

The undersides of her breasts played peek-a-boo with me as the half-shirt she wore barely covered those bitches.

As my eyes dragged up to her face, I was already expecting to see Heir Bell’s pretty-ass face.

Although I’d only seen Heir a few times, I’d know her anywhere. There weren’t many women who could hold my attention. Not even for a handful of seconds. I stared at Heir, though. Effortlessly, she commanded me to stare.

Just then, our eyes connected. I expected her to shy away and advert her gaze like the good girl that she was.

However… She stared back, holding me in her web of sensuality.

Unblinking, I tilted my head and pointedly stared to see if that would scare her off.

She smirked, then wiggled her fingers to wave at me.

Finding her boldness too attractive to ignore, I blew her a kiss.

This time, she dipped her head to hide the smile on her face.

As she continued past my section, I was a little perturbed to see that she was without a security team.

I whistled loud enough for my day one to hear me. Roy stood at the front of the section, scoping out any and everything that could cause an issue for me as if security wasn’t deep. He walked my way.

“Get some eyes on that section,” I told him without having to explain which section I referred to.

“Got it,” he said and moved off.

Heir and her sister were in my shit without security.

A nigga didn’t like that shit. Then again, their team was around here somewhere, had to be.

It was cool, though. I’d put eyes on them…

just in case. I couldn’t have anything happening to them on my premises.

A war wasn’t the look for K. M. Wine & Liquors.

“I’m going to the restroom,” Tina informed me. She looked irritated, but I didn’t give a fuck. Anytime I opened my mouth, she had an issue. We weren’t a couple, so whatever she felt about me was inconsequential. As long as she was fucking me right, I didn’t give a damn about anything else.

As Tina left the section, my sister strolled inside. She glanced at the look on Tina’s face and chuckled.

“You pissed her off?” she questioned.

I shrugged, dismissing her question. “Where’s Chris?”

She waved me off. “Boarding a jet to California. Some last-minute endorsement deal he has to do promo for first thing in the morning.”

I’d take my sister’s answer, but I wasn’t buying that shit.

Chris Sparks was a superstar NFL player.

Normally, his ass wouldn’t let my sister out of his sight.

She would’ve been on the jet with him, which led me to believe that his ass was chasing some pussy.

The minute I verified it, I was going to beat his fucking brains in.

I warned him before he even fucked with my sister that she wasn’t the one, and I wasn’t the one to stand by and let niggas play with her.

Sure, she was a grown-ass woman. I was her brother, though, and I was protecting her by any means necessary.

Kim plopped down on the couch opposite me and immediately poured herself a drink. Her eyes looked a little stressed, which caused my fingers to tighten around the expensive glass of liquor in my hand.

“You sure you good, baby?” I asked her.

She nodded too emphatically for my liking. “Everything’s great, big brother. Chill out, please. You have a look in your eyes that I hate seeing.” She chuckled to play it off.

I swirled the contents of my glass around and dissected what was on the surface of my sister’s emotions. Some shit was up, and she was lying to cover it up.

I took a sip of my drink, then said, “We never lie to each other, lil’ baby.”

Kim’s eyes flew to mine. “No, we don’t.” She sipped her drink, grimaced, then added, “Everything’s good…for now. I’ll let you know if anything changes.”

That was better. “Aight,” I replied.

Just a few minutes later, Kim stood to leave the section as she answered her phone.

Roy came back into the section and motioned over his shoulder.

That was when I noticed Heir standing just outside my section.

Her eyes were on me for a second too long.

Then, she turned her back to me and focused on the crowd below us.

Several pairs of eyes followed her every move.

It was only right that I figured out what the fuck was going on with lil’ baby. She was out of place in here.
