Chp 16- Flames of humiliation
Tae and everyone were seated on their chairs in the dining room, with the dishes prepared by kook placed in the front table, the guest's mouth was watering looking at the mouth watering dishes kept in front.
Jhope who was hungrily eyeing the dishes tried to sneak and take a chicken piece, startled when yoona lightly slapped on his back hand
"Hobi Brother, let elder brother take first"
She whispered and jhope pout waiting back patiently, taehyung was sitting calmly eyeing at the pomfret fish kept right in front of him as it was his favourite, but from now onwards he hates them.
Kook looked at him and thought that he was looking at them because it was his favourite but she didn't know the actual reason behind his stare at those poor dead fishes.
She picked up a piece and it on his plate and in other small bowls she served him dal tadka, chicken curry, and on his plate she served him veg pulao, and then she sat on her own chair, nervously looking at everyone who was eyeing her and tae.
Kook looked at the fishes and for some reason she thought that they were looking too red, tzuyu who was sitting right opposite to kook smirked looking at koo's frown,she looked at Soya and smirked
Others too served themself and a worker served dadi.
Everyone started eating but she frowned when everyone started coughing after having the first bite of the food, tae who couldn't tolerate spice started sweating badly after eating the fish, guess it was too much spicy for him.
Kook hurriedly poured water in a glass and handed him, she served shahi tukda in a bowl and gave it to tae who hurriedly had a bite and finally his tongue was at rest. He didn't feel that much burn on his tongue now, by others was still coughing and having water, and among them was Tzuyu and Soya too who was just acting and pretending to cough.
She worriedly looked at everyone. Dadi was nearly dead by coughing for so long but once she ate the sweet she was fine, sadly!!.
A loud road from dadi echoes in the dining room. Koo flinched at her loud voice and immediately stood up shaking her head as no
"N..no, dadi...i..i didn't....wh..what happened?"
"After putting so much spice in the food you're asking what happened?"
This time it was Sana who shouted, tae just sat there clenching his fist, kook's eyes got filled with tears
"I..i didn't put much spice in it, i s..swear, i..i don't know h..how it became this spicy"
Kook said stammering, tears running down her face.
"Oh shut it!!,don't you dare deny that, say ‘yes, I did it.’ If you made a mistake, just accept it." Sana said sarcastically
"But I really didn’t put that much chili in it."
"Shut up, girl. Today is your first day in this house, and on your very first day you’ve embarrassed me in front of my relatives." Dadi said angrily
"Please forgive me, da…dadi… but I really didn’t put that much chili in it."
"There you go again, looks like your parents forgot to teach you honesty along with cooking."
Kook looks down and cries.
Jihyo looks at her mother-in-law.
"Maa, please stop, it was just a mistake, be kind."
"How can I be kind? Today was this girl’s first time cooking in this house, and she ruined even that. She made such terrible food that even my Taehyung started to cough–"
"Enough, dadi, that’s enough. Nobody says another word!!"
Tae says angrily, everyone falls silent. Kook keeps her head down and cries, embarrassed to be crying like that in front of the whole family.
"And listen to me all of you, from today on no fish will be served in this house."
Saying that, Taehyung gets up from the table and walks to his room.
Jimin looks at Kook with sad eyes
“Is that it?Are you happy now?, My Taehyung got up in the middle of the meal, if you can’t cook, why didn’t you tell me earlier?" Dadi said erupting like a valcono now
"I… I can cook, da…dadi–"
"Enough already. Jimin, take Jungkook with you."
Jihyo tells to Jimin, and Jimin and Yoona both took Jungkook away. Everyone gets up without finishing their food, and Jhope, Yoongi and Woojin leave for work without eating. This makes dadi even angrier.
And the guests in the house also started saying unpleasant things.
Dadi’s anger reached the sky.
"Guess we should go now, you served us very delicious meal Nayeon"
An elderly female said from the guest, making Nayeon angry and embarrassed, her anger was now boiling like a lava towards koo.
"We'll be going now, thanks for inviting us in this wedding "
Saying that the guest went from there, as soon as they were out of sight, dadi slammed her hand on the table making the rest of the family flinch.
"Maa control!!, i know the new bahu is good for nothing"
Minjun said sarcastically giving fake sympathy, jihyo angrily looked at Minjun
"Mind your tongue brother, she's a bahu of this family now,how can you say like that to a girl?, don't you feel shame?"
"Shut up jihyo, it's happening all because of you, I don't know what you saw in that girl?, from the very start i told you I didn't like her, but you?, did you listen to me?"
Jihyo shook her head
"Maa, i did that for taehyung, and what happened if she really doesn't know to cook, I'll teach her, and every human makes mistakes"
"I don't know anything jihyo, but for me tzuyu was the best choice for taehyung, but because of your stubborn son, tch!!, he married that new girl who doesn't even know how to cook properly, so untrained and immature"
Listening to this Minjun, Sana, and especially tzuyu become so happy.
"It's not too late mother –"
Before Minjun can finish jihyo stopped him
"Enough brother-in-law, I know what youre gonna say after that, but remember no matter what you all think, taehyung is my son, and he's married now"
Saying that jihyo stood up from the chair and walked towards the room where yoona and jimin took koo
She entered inside and the sight made her heart tremble
Kook was crying on jimin's chest and both of them was consoling her
"It's ok bhabhi, lease don't cry like this, we know you didn't do that" Said jimin
"Bahu, don't cry"
Jihyo said coming towards them, jimin stood up and jihyo sat down beside kook and caressed her hair
"Forget about it hmm, what's happened is happened, i know you didn't do it"
Kook looked at with teary eyes
"Maa, I'm sorry because of me nobody ate anything"
Jihyo wiped her tears
"Don't worry about everyone!, if they're hungry then they'll cook and eat by themselves"
"B..but h..he also didn't eat anything"
"Don't worry, I've asked eunchae to make a simple lunch for your husband"
Yoona confusedly looked at her mother
"But maa, why did brother said that no fish will serve from now onwards?"
"I don't know, that boy does whatever comes in his head, and I'm more shocked than you, he loves pomfret but why did he said something like that today!!"
Jihyo sighed and looked at kook
"Nevermind, don't cry now, forget about it, whoever did that to your food may god let him/her have tasteless food for the rest of their life, now get up and go get freshen up okay "
Kook nodded
"Did you unpack your luggage?"
Kook shook her head as no
"No maa, i didn't "
"Hmm, so now go and unpack it okay, jimin yoona, one of you go and help her okay?"
"I'll go with her" jimin said making yoona pout
"But I wanted to go bhabhi"
"You have to study na?, go"
Yoona huffed in annoyance and walked out of the room with jihyo
"Come bhabhi let's go"
"Ok didi"
Saying that both jimin and kookie went towards tae's room, they stood infront of the door, jimin looked at kook and whispered
"Is elder brother still inside?"
"Maybe yes" kook said nervously and knocked on the door.
Kook turned the door knob and opened the door, she saw tae standing infront of the mirror
Taehyung stood with quiet confidence,
He wore a mocha-brown knit sweater paired with black tailored trousers, simple yet elegant.A silver watch on his wrist added a subtle touch of sophistication.His soft, tousled hair framed his face perfectly, enhancing his composed charm.Every detail of his look reflected effortless style and timeless grace.
Kook was start stuck looking at him, tae looked at her through the mirror,his gaze of fixed on his beautiful wife, who still managed to look pretty after crying so much.
"Bhabhi let's go in, why are you standing infront of the door?"
Jimin said looking at kook's back, who was freezed at her place
Kook nodded and both jimin and kook entered inside, and it'll be a lie if i said that jimin didn't find taehyung attractive, as a human for her he was handsome, but he was her brother, and she didn't mean any harm, finding someone attractive by their looks isn't a crime
"I'm going out for a while, i have some work"
Tae said fixing his watch, kook nodded looking down nervously when she find out that she was staring at him like a creep.
Tae picked up his wallet and phone and went out of the room after having a proper look of his wife, he didn't even know whether jimin was there or not, his eyes were stuck on his beautiful wife, that he didn't see anything except her.
After tae went out, kook walked towards her luggage and opened it , jimin sat beside her
"Can I help?"
"Ofcourse didi you can"
Kook said with a small smile
Jimin helped kook, placing her belongings on the bed, one by one they both folded her clothes and kept it in the closet beside tae's clothes , they neatly arranged everything, kook kept her bathing products in the bathroom, and jimin was now brooming the room.
Koo came out of the bathroom and smiled at jimin
"Thankyou didi, for helping me today, without you it would've taken me hours to arrange all of my things here"
"Hey it's ok, you don't need to thank me, but instead of that can we both have a talk?"
Kook nodded cheerfully
"Ofcourse we can"
Jimin smiled and they both sat on the bed
"So what you wanna talk about didi?"
"Jungkookie, whatever happened today, i know it was not right, and by my experience in this house, i may know who did that to your food"
Kook frowned and raised an eyebrow
"Who?"
"Tzuyu and her crime partner Soya, they are the one who always troubles the family members, when it was my first day here after my marriage, they did the same thing to me, and i was badly scolded more than you were today, but that time my husband,yoongi, he stood up for me, and even elder brother said to let it go, but dadi, uff that old hag–"
Kook suprisingly looked at her
"Didi, what are you saying?, old hag?"
Jimin bite her tongue
"Slip of my tongue bhabhi, but it's true she's a witch, a witch who does black magic and wants nothing good for anyone"
"I can't believe you're bad mouthing about dadi to me" kook said trying not to laugh
"I guess in amidst of these days i know you better"
"You do?"
"Yes bhabhi, i know how you felt today, but you're too lucky that half of the house was with you and especially your husband"
"My husband?"
"Yeah didn't you see how elder brother tried to defend you, he even said that from today onwards no fish will be served in this house"
"But I heard from dadi that he loves fish right?, then why did he say that?"
"Who knows?, but i think he said that because of you, you know minjun father-in-law have allergy from fish and there was a great fight One day because minjun uncle said that no fish will be served in this house, but dadi denied saying elder brother likes fish, and even elder brother said that fish will be served whenever he wants, he doesn't care who have allergic reactions"
"Ohh i too have allergy from fishes"
"Uh you too?"
"Yes, see, i got them because i touched fishes" kook said showing jimin her rashes on her hand, jimin held her and and then it clicked in her mind.
"Ohhhh, i know why he said that today"
"Said what?" Kook asked with a frown
"That he doesn't want to eat fish from now onwards, i was right, he did that cuz of you"
"C-cuz of M-me?"
"Yes, so that in future you don't have to touch any fishes again, aww it's your first day in this house and elder brother thinks that much about you, so sweet!!"
Jimin said making kook shy
"N-nooo, it's nothing like that didi, you're j-just assuming things, w-why would he do that f-for me?"
"Ofcourse because you're his beautiful wife"
"Didiii, stopp" kook whined shyly making jimin laugh
"Ok, ok I'll stop"
After a second of silence kook said
"Didi, you're really very nice"
"You're nice too bhabhi"
"Don't call me bhabhi, it makes me feel like I'm too old"
Jungkook said pouting making jimin laugh
"Old??, if not bhabhi then what should I call you?, Little fairy?"
Kook whined
"Ok ok I'll stop now, but seriously what should I call you?"
"Just call me by my name or maybe kookie"
"Kookie?, hmm ok than I'll call you kookie but only when we're alone"
"Why?"
"Cuz my naive little fairy, infront of everyone I can't call you by your name cuz–"
"Yeah yeah I know, cuz I'm older than you in relation, I've heard that thing from yoona Didi's mouth for like hundred of times" Jimin chuckled
"Ok little fairy, don't get angry, I think little fairy is a better option, should i call you that?" Jimin teased
"Didii!!" Kook whined
"Ok ok, now I'll be going, I've to make my room clean too before my grumpy husband comes back, and remember one thing no matter what we are in relationship,just remember one thing if you ever want to gossip about your husband then come to me, we both will gossip about our husband's together "
Kook smiled and nodded
"Sounds good!!, Maybe in future cuz we barely talk now"
"Give him time little fairy, he's 30 years old now,too old with that cold wall built around his heart, and you've to slowly break into it and make a place in his heart, I'm telling you firsthand, it's not gonna be easy, so prepare yourself, cuz from what I've known about elder brother, he's rough with all his belongings "
Jimin said with a smirk making kook Tomato red
"Haha!!! Look yourself into the mirror kookie, you're looking like a living tomato"
"Didi, don't you have to clean your room before your grumpy husband comes back?"
"Oh shucks!!! I forgot, bye bye kookie, see you around"
Saying that jimin went out of her room, kook still sat their with red cheeks
"Jiminie didi has no filter"
Kook freezed thinking
"Did he really deny serving fishes because of me?, how did he know that i have contact urticaria?"
Kook sat there thinking about this for minutes, and it did become a really big mystery for her
