Chapter 17 Chance
CHANCE
Church ends up going on longer than I had expected.
I know that Kenzie hasn’t left the clubhouse because I told Zeek to keep a close eye on her, but she might be pissed that she’s been out there waiting for me for over an hour.
Maybe she’ll be a little happier when she finds out I sent Gunner out to get her some cheesecake since we didn’t get to stop for her on the way back.
The Bloody Scorpions showing up right then and there, when I had Kenzie on my bike, was them telling me they now knew I had a weakness.
The silent threat won’t be dismissed, and if they want a war, they’re going to get one.
Their new president, Slider, seems to be looking for trouble, unlike his old man and president before him.
Going in search of Kenzie, I run into Gia, who reaches out and runs her pink fingernail down my bicep. “You want to take me into my room for some quick fun? No one has to know,” she purrs, her other hand moving toward my dick.
I catch her wrist to stop her. “Gia, I told you I’m done. I’m giving it a go with Kenzie, and if you want to stay here, you need to accept those boundaries,” I tell her in a gentle yet firm tone.
“You’re not a one-woman man, Chance. You never have been,” she replies, licking her lips. “I know exactly how you need it. Are you going to give that up for some good-girl pussy? Why? When I know how much you like it when I’m bad.”
“Last time I’m telling you. Go find one of the other men because I’m not your go-to dick anymore. And I’m not giving up anything, so there’s no loss. I’m getting Kenzie, which is what I want more than anything,” I add, not wanting her to think she can put my woman down.
Kenzie’s pussy is the best I’ve had, but that’s none of Gia’s business. She needs to put her claws away and accept that I’m done with her, or she needs to get the fuck out of here.
“You disrespect my woman, and we’re going to have a big-fucking-problem, you hear me?”
She nods, her jaw tightening. “Loud and clear. Don’t come crawling back when you realize you’re not cut out for the white picket fence.”
Raking my hand through my hair in frustration, I storm into the kitchen, stopping in my tracks when I see Kenzie cooking, and it smells amazing.
She has four huge pots on the stove, and Dutch, with his black eye and cut lip, is taste-testing for her, while Honey and Zeek are sitting at the table putting together a salad.
Cash is sitting on the countertop, watching her every move.
I never asked Kenzie if she cooked. I guess it didn’t really matter to me, but the fact that she’s going through all of this effort for my club means a lot to me.
No, it means every-damn-thing.
“Fuck, that’s good,” Dutch moans, nodding in approval.
“I hope it makes up for the fact I wanted Chance to fight, which ended in…” She gestures to his face.
He grins, leaning back against the pantry door. “I love a good fight. Don’t you worry about me.”
“Okay, well, it’s ready. Cash, you get the first bowl,” she announces, serving him a plate.
“Fuck yeah.” Cash grins, jumping down and patiently waiting. Kenzie adds some salad on the side for him, and he thanks her as she gives him his plate.
When she lifts her head and sees me standing there, she smiles widely. “Hungry, babe?”
It’s the first time she’s called me anything but my name, and I love it. “Starving.”
She smiles, fills my plate, and hands it to me.
“You eat first, Siren.”
“I’ll get myself a smaller serving.”
I wait for her, and we sit down together. After the first bite, I smile at her. “It’s amazing. Thank you for cooking for everyone. You didn’t have to.”
“I wanted to.” She shrugs. “Couldn’t just feed you and Cash and not everyone else who lives here.”
“Can you cook every night?” Cash asks, and I scowl at him. “What? I’m sick of pizza. This is delicious. I can’t even remember the last time I ate a salad.”
Kenzie laughs. The table starts to fill up, while everyone eats and laughs together. I take a moment to look around at all the people who mean something to me.
Lust kisses Kenzie on the head. “Chance has all the luck. You’re hot, look good on the back of a bike, and can cook.”
“And she’s smart,” Cash adds.
“And she’s feeding us too,” Honey points out, licking her fork. “Even though we’ve—”
Hazel covers her sister’s mouth with her hand. “Stop while you’re ahead.”
“I’m telling you all now that Kenzie is not cleaning up,” I announce, and Hazel nods.
“We’ll take care of it.”
Turning to her, I cup her face and run my thumb along her jaw. “I’ve got dessert waiting for you.”
She glances down at my dick with a smirk, and I burst out laughing. The table goes silent, everyone watching their president.
“You can have that anytime you want, baby.” I lower my voice. “I meant the cheesecake that you wanted. The icing on the cake of the best day.”
Her eyes soften before she plants a soft kiss on my lips.
I know everyone is staring.
They’ve never seen me like this.
Hell, I didn’t even know I was capable of being so gentle and caring.
But she brings this side out of me. I want to protect her, spoil her, give her everything she wants and needs, and fuck her so dirty she never even wants to look at another man.
“Dad, I’m going to that party tonight I told you about,” Cash reminds me, checking the time on his phone. “I’m going to Tommy’s house, and heading out from there.”
“Okay, you need a ride, you give me a call. No riding if you’re drinking,” I remind him.
“If I’m drinking, I’ll crash there, but I’ll send you a message and let you know what I’m up to,” he promises, leaning over to kiss Kenzie on the cheek before he leaves.
“Do you have my number in case you need something?” Kenzie asks, frowning. “You will message us, right, no matter what time it is? I don’t mind driving out to get you.”
Cash pulls out his phone and hands it to her so she can enter her number.
“Be safe,” she calls out to him. “And use protection!”
“Unlike us last night,” I remind her, kissing her neck. “And I can’t wait to be inside you and bare again tonight.”
“Chance!” she moans softly.
“Come on, let me feed you cheesecake in bed.”
She stands up and sighs. “Yeah, definitely the best day ever.”
