Chapter 38

Victoria stopped, then turned, her expression now calm.

She walked over and sat in the empty seat next to Henry.

Sarah spoke up, "Mrs. Harrison, it was Jude who sent me at message saying he'd be performing today and invited me to watch. If it bothers you, I can leave..."

Her long hair flowed naturally, her makeup light. Her eyes looked at Victoria with a pitiful, innocent expression. She wore an elegant dress, graceful and demure, exuding a pure and delicate feminine charm.

After speaking, she turned to Henry. "Henry, could you please have someone send me back?"

Henry's lips pressed into a thin line as his deep, seductive eyes briefly swept over Victoria.

Victoria simply smiled and shook her head. "It's fine. Since Jude invited you, you should stay and watch."

Only then did Victoria notice that Sarah was in a wheelchair, her lower leg in a cast.

Victoria glanced at her, then looked away. She remained calm, forcing herself to stay composed.

Henry had invited her, and Jude had invited Sarah.

She didn't know what was the point of this.

She thought, "Are they trying to show off how happy and perfect their little family is? If that is the case, won't a divorce be a good choice for Henry? Then, they can really be a happy family."

Soon, Jude went up on stage. He was dressed in his kindergarten uniform, his little tie perfectly in place, his face delicate and adorable. His expression was cold, but after a quick glance in this direction, he smiled a little.

Sarah immediately waved at him.

Victoria lowered her gaze slightly.

Jude began his performance. He sat at the piano bench, his little hands dancing over the black and white keys.

He was focused and cute, and the audience couldn't help but take out their phones to record videos of him.

The crowd was full of praise.

Victoria's thoughts wandered for a moment. Jude visited Rose Villa once a week, but he practiced the piano every day.

He'd practice for two hours at a time. Victoria always felt sorry for him, not wanting him to work so hard at such a young age, so she would try to coax him into stopping early and getting some rest.

"Can you stop bothering me? Go away! I don't want to see you!" The sweetness of his young voice contrasted sharply with the coldness of his words. Her heart suddenly ached.

Victoria quickly gathered her thoughts. She didn't want to be tortured by the memories of the past anymore.

She absolutely didn't want to recall those old times.

Soon the performances were over, the awards ceremony began. Every child received a certificate and a flower.

Jude walked over with his certificate and a flower.

Sarah looked at him with a gentle smile. "Jude, you're amazing! Your performance was beautiful!"

Like any other boy, Jude was happy to be praised. He smiled, and then he noticed Victoria. She didn't say anything to him.

He didn't know why, after performing so well, he still couldn't receive praise from his mother.

Moreover, her gaze at him was cold.

Jude tightened his grip on the flower in his hand. He had originally wanted to show Victoria his certificate and flower.

After a moment of thought, he handed both to Sarah instead. "Ms. Miller, this flower is for you."

Sarah's eyes lit up in surprise as she eagerly accepted it. "You really want to give this to me? Thank you, Jude!"

Sarah turned to Henry, excitedly saying, "Henry, Jude gave me a gift."

"Fine."

Henry's handsome, serious face remained expressionless, though he glanced at Victoria with what seemed like an accidental side-eye.

At that moment, Sarah noticed Victoria, and her expression suddenly became flustered. "Mrs. Harrison, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have accepted this. You're Jude's mother, and these should be for you."

She quickly handed Victoria the certificate and the flower, pretending she was worried Victoria might get upset.
