Chapter 89
Victoria's gaze grew complicated as she stared at Jude, her emotions swirling within her.
Jude had been living at Harrison Villa, and every time he came back, he seemed distant toward Victoria, just like Henry. She thought his personality was similar to Henry's, believing that at such a young age, he could control his emotions.
But now, she realized she had been wrong.
On the surface, he appeared cold and composed, but inside, he was like a little devil.
He didn't even know what had happened between her and Henry, yet he had threatened her so accurately with his words.
Victoria thought to herself, "What a little schemer!"
Jude, however, was in no rush. He simply watched her quietly, seemingly sure she wouldn't refuse him.
And, true enough, she picked up the spoon and fed him some creamy soup. His eyes lit up, and he eagerly ate it.
Perhaps it was his imagination, but being fed by her made the soup laste even better than usual.
Before long, the bowl of soup was gone.
"Is it good?"
"Yeah." Jude nodded, feeling a little embarrassed, but quickly masked it with his usual cold demeanor. His childish face quickly returned to its calm expression.
After a while, Victoria accompanied him for another checkup. The doctor prescribed some medicine, explained the dosage, and then confirmed that Jude could be discharged.
Victoria let out a sigh of relief. Once he was discharged, she'd be out of the picture!
She had just completed the discharge procedure when Jennifer arrived.
Upon learning of the situation, Jennifer immediately said to Jude, "Jude, I'll take you home and cook you something delicious, okay?"
Jude shook his head. "No, I want to go back to Rose Villa."
Jennifer frowned. "What are you going to do there? No one can take care of you there."
"She can."
Jude immediately raised his hand and pointed at .
Jennifer, however, insisted, "She can't take care of you. It's better if you come home with me."
Victoria nodded vigorously, thinking to herself, "Yes, I can't take care of anyone. Just let me go."
But no matter how much Jennifer urged, Jude was firm in wanting to go back to Rose Villa, insisting that Victoria take care of him.
Jennifer's gaze turned even colder as she glared at Victoria. "Come with me."
Once they were outside the room, Jennifer coldly demanded, "Did you say something to Jude?"
Victoria shrugged. "I didn't say anything."
Jennifer, however, looked unconvinced. "Then why won't he go with me? Victoria, did you use some kind of trick to make him want only you?"
Victoria crossed her arms and sneered. "Mrs. Jennifer Harrison, I find it strange. You seem to really dislike him getting close to me. But he is my son, after all. The blood between us can't just be cut off, no matter what you think.".
"You don't deserve to be Jude's mother! You used dirty tricks to marry Henry and made the Harrison family suffer. Of course, I won't let you get close to Jude. You'll ruin him."
Jennifer's malice was evident, and her disgust was palpable.
Victoria's eyes turned cold. "I didn't do anything. I was framed. Do you really think the Harrison family is some kind of treasure everyone wants a piece of it? I don't care about it!"
Jennifer said, "Then why don't you get a divorce? You've never kept your promise. Don't you think you're shameless?"
Victoria's expression, however, grew colder. "You should say that to Henry. I've always wanted a divorce, but he refuses. As for who is shameless, we both know the truth!"
With that, Victoria turned to leave, but then she saw Henry standing a few feet away, his face expressionless, watching their argument unfold.
Jennifer immediately said, "Henry, did you hear that? Why haven't you divorced her yet? Our family doesn't accept someone like her."
Victoria pressed her lips together, looking at Henry's cold and stern face. He ignored Jennifer's words and approached Victoria, staring intently as he said, "You should go check on Jude."
Victoria lowered her eyes, hiding her self–mocking gaze. She knew Henry wouldn't respond directly to the divorce issue.
Victoria turned and entered the hospital room.
