Chapter 90
Henry looked at Jennifer, his brows furrowing. "Mom, are you bored with a peaceful life and looking for some excitement? Should I bring Uncle back?"
"How dare you!" Jennifer looked at Henry in disbelief. "Henry, didn't you hate her? Why are you unwilling to divorce her, then? Don't tell me you've fallen for her."
"You must be joking," Henry replied coldly. "I just think she is a competent wife who can save me a lot of trouble."
Jennifer sighed weakly, "It seems you have no intention of divorcing her."
Henry's tone grew colder. "I don't want to hear that again."
Suddenly, Jennifer noticed Sarah wheeling to them.
Jennifer composed herself and regained her dignified demeanor. "Sarah, why do you look so pale?"
Sarah forced a smile. "Maybe I didn't sleep well last night. Ma'am, you came early today."
Jennifer replied, "Yes, I came to see how Jude was doing and to take him home."
"I also came for Jude. I even make his favorite snacks," Sarah smiled.
Jennifer chuckled, "Sarah, you're really a good girl. It was my mistake back then. If it weren't for me, you and Henry would be very happy now."
"Mom, you can go back now," Henry interjected, cutting off Jennifer.
Jennifer gave Sarah a meaningful glance before walking away.
"Henry." Sarah maneuvered her wheelchair closer to Henry, looking up at him with a pale face. Tears shimmered in her eyes. "Are you not going to divorce Victoria?"
"It's none of your business." A slight irritation flashed in Henry's eyes.
He thought, "Why does everyone want me to divorce Victoria ? Even Victoria herself wants to leave me."
The irritated emotion surged within Henry's chest, casting at layer of frost over his handsome face and giving him an air of being unapproachable.
Sarah bit her lip. "But you promised me back then..."
"I will compensate you in another way." Henry said expressionlessly, "Your leg isn't healed yet. Go and rest." With that, he turned and entered the hospital room.
Sarah tightened her grip on the box in her hands, resentment shining in her eyes.
She thought, "But all I want is him. He clearly promised me.
Why is he regretting it? It's all Victoria's fault.
If it weren't for Victoria, would I have to go through so much trouble to win Henry's heart?
But it's okay. I still have that recording.
I will make Victoria help me accomplish this. "
When Henry entered the hospital room, he found Victoria playing on her phone and not checking on Jude. He walked over and said coldly, "You need to move back to Rose Villa."
"What?" Victoria replied, surprise written all over her face.
Victoria tightened her grip on the phone, her clear eyes filled with suppressed anger. She lowered her voice and said, "Henry, are you playing games? I have been following your demands, but you keep changing the rules. Are you messing with me?"
Seeing Victoria's angry expression, Henry's indifferent demeanor softened slightly. "We are married. Shouldn't we live together? You say I'm messing with you, but what did I do?"
"You-" Victoria's face turned pale with anger, her eyes swirling with disdain for him.
Victoria thought, "This is infuriating. But as long as I don't satisfy him, he'll keep targeting Sebastian?"
Victoria's fingers curled up hard enough to turn the knuckles white. She struggled to suppress her anger and said, "Can you give me a clear answer? What do I have to do for you to stop targeting my brother?"
"Are you willing to do anything for him?" Henry said cryptically.
Victoria rolled her eyes dramatically and replied, "Of course! He has always treated me the best."
Henry said coldly, "After this week, I won't target him anymore."
Victoria was truly furious, feeling like she might have a heart attack.
Jude had already changed his clothes, and the car was parked outside the hospital.
Once in the car, Victoria said, "I need to go pick up my friend's daughter to live with us."
"No way." Julius promptly refused, "I don't want to see her."
Victoria retorted mercilessly, "Well, I don't want to see you either."
Jude pressed his lips together, looking angry and displeased at Victoria.
Ignoring Jude, Victoria turned to Henry and said, "My friend will be back next week. I promised to take care of Emma. She's only four."
After a pause, Victoria continued, "Rose Villa is so big. What's one more child? You wouldn't hold it against a child, would you?"
Henry glanced at Victoria. "You can, but you need to be responsible for preparing all three meals for the next days."
"Fine." Victoria gritted her teeth in agreement, thinking, "He really knows how to push his luck."
Jude sat in the child safety seat, listening to their conversation with wide eves.
At the apartment building, they saw Emma already standing by the roadside. She wore a beautiful floral dress with a fair and chubby face. Her eyes sparkled like stars, resembling a doll from a medieval painting.
Victoria got out of the car and took Emma's hand. "Sweetheart, come on."
Emma glanced at the car and tightened her grip on Victoria's hand. Her childish voice was filled with caution. "Ms. Victoria, did they bully you?"
Henry and Jude exchanged sharp glances, thinking, "Why would this little brat think that we're bullying Victoria?"
"No." Victoria felt warm inside and began to entertain the idea of making Emma her goddaughter. She decided to bring it up with Evie when she returned.
Once in the car, Victoria fastened Emma's seatbelt and smiled, saying, "I'm taking you to a new place to live. It's very big and has lots of fun things to do."
Jude watched from the side, his mouth tightly pursed, his fists clenched, thinking, "Such an annoying girl. My mom never fastened my seatbelt, and it's been ages since anyone spoke to me this gently."
