Chapter 136
Agnes said, "You..."
"That's enough," Sophia said. "Let's go get ready."
She got up and walked right past Victoria, never taking off her sunglasses or sparing her a single glance.
Agnes snorted coldly and followed Sophia out.
Victoria watched the scene with an indifferent expression, not reacting much.
Tina was furious. "What's her deal? If it weren't for you seven years ago, would she even be famous? Would she have the success she has now? What an ungrateful little snake!"
"Let's grab something to eat," Victoria said casually.
The two found a shop and had their lunch. By the time they returned, Sophia's hair and makeup were done.
The studio was well–equipped. Victoria took out her camera, adjusted the settings, and said, "We're ready to start."
Sophia walked over and struck the poses Victoria requested.
Agnes stood nearby, observing.
Once a set of photos was done, Agnes walked over and said, "Hand me the camera. Sophia wants to see how the shots turned out."
Victoria glanced at her and said, "If you don't trust me, feel free to terminate the contract."
Agnes glared. "Why are you being so arrogant? We just want to look at the pictures!"
Victoria shot back, "It's my camera. Why should I let you look at it? Who do you think you are?"
Agnes' face darkened in embarrassment.
Tina felt a wave of satisfaction. Finally, someone put that assistant in her place!
At that moment, Sophia walked over. Her sharp features radiated an aggressive beauty. Her cold, emotionless stare was intimidating.
"How do I know your skills are still what they used to be? I need to check to be sure," Sophia said.
Victoria replied coolly, "If you don't trust my skills, you can cancel the contract."
If Sophia had no intention of working well from the start, why hire her in the first place?
Was she just here to pick a fight?
If that was the case, Victoria wasn't backing down.
Sophia's gaze grew even colder. In the next second, she reached out and grabbed the camera, catching Victoria off guard and snatching it away.
Victoria's expression darkened. She reached out to take the camera back, but Sophia raised her arm to block her. In the process, Victoria's nail accidentally scratched Sophia's arm.
"What are you doing?!" Sophia exclaimed.
Wincing in pain, Sophia flung the camera back at Victoria. "I just wanted to look at the pictures. Was that really necessary?"
Victoria hurriedly caught the camera, saving it from damage. She quickly checked the photos and sighed in relief–they were all still there.
She gave Sophia a cold look. "Either finish the shoot without any more drama, or cancel the contract. But if you're determined to pick a fight, I'm ready for it."
Sophia held her arm and sneered, "You're imagining things. Who do you think you are? Why would I waste my time picking on you?"
She let out a mocking laugh and turned to leave.
Tina, furious, shot back, "If it weren't for Vika, would you even be where you are today?"
Victoria's eyes remained cold as she watched Sophia's retreating figure. A vague sense of unease stirred in her heart.
She couldn't shake the feeling that something bad was about to happen.
The photos were intact, and although Sophia had a bad attitude, she cooperated during the shoot.
So where was the problem?
As Victoria was thinking, Agnes returned and said coldly, "Sophia is injured. The afternoon shoot will be postponed to tomorrow."
She shot Victoria a glare before turning and walking away.
Injured?
Victoria frowned slightly. She had scratched Sophia during the scuffle over the camera. The scratch hadn't even broken the skin, and they were postponing the shoot for this?
Tina said, "If they're not shooting, then we can enjoy the free time. Vika, let's go check out some houses."
Victoria responded softly, "Okay." They packed up their things and left the studio.
Across the street, a silver Maybach was parked. Grace, seated in the driver's seat, glanced at the rearview mirror and hesitated. "Mr Harrison, do you want to go inside?"
Henry had documents resting on his lap, with a few more piled on the seat beside him. Closing the file in his hands, he looked up and spotted Victoria and Tina stepping out of the studio.
His deep–set brows framed stormy eyes. His handsome face remained as composed as ever as he opened the car door and stepped out.
He had been attending a meeting nearby and passed by Sophia's studio on the way back.
Grace had mentioned earlier that Sophia and Vika were working together on a promotional shoot.
He had immediately instructed Grace to stop the car but hadn't gotten out, opting to deal with his work instead.
Now, as he walked into the studio, the receptionist was taken aback. "Mr. Harrison, are you... here to see Sophia? She's in the lounge."
Henry gave a brief nod and headed straight inside.
The receptionist quickly informed Sophia, and soon the lounge door opened. Sophia greeted him with a bright smile.
"Henry, what brings you here?"
Henry walked in and sat down on the couch, asking casually, "Haven't seen you in a while. Thought I'd stop by."
Sophia's smile widened as she sat diagonally across from him. "I've wrapped up my work abroad. From now on, my career will focus here. We can meet more often."
Henry suddenly asked, "How long have you been back?"
"Two weeks," Sophia replied.
"Have you visited your brother yet?" Henry asked again.
Sophia's expression stiffened slightly, turning awkward. "I... I've been busy lately. I'll visit him in the next couple of days."
"Mm. Go see him. It might help him wake up sooner," Henry said calmly.
His expression remained neutral as he shifted the topic. "You've been working with Vika?"
Sophia's eyes flickered briefly before she nodded. "Yes. Henry, are you interested in her?"
"Mm. She's my wife," Henry stated plainly.
Henry looked at her steadily. "Seven years ago, she helped you make your name. Now, she'll help you reach new heights. Work well together."
Sophia clenched her hands tightly, her nails digging into her palms. She nodded. "Yes, I know. We've been working well together. The shoot ran long, so I sent her home earlier."
She forced a smile. "I honestly didn't know Vika was your wife."
Henry felt a chill in his heart. He had only learned about this recently, and thinking about how she'd hidden it from him left him displeased.
Sophia quickly changed the subject. "Henry, how about dinner tonight? Let's invite Sarah, Barrett, Gideon, and Jayce. It's been a while since we've all gotten together."
"Mm."
Henry nodded briefly before standing up. "You rest. I've got other things to take care of."
Sophia walked him to the door. As she watched him leave, her eyes were filled with deep admiration.
But when she thought about how he had come specifically to tell her that Vika was his wife, jealousy surged in her heart.
How could a woman who resorted to underhanded tactics to marry Henry win his favor?
That woman didn't deserve him!
She would take her down–Henry was hers and hers alone!
