Chapter 179

Soon, they arrived at the entrance of a game room. Dylan opened the door and saw several elderly women playing cards. inside, one of whom was Ava.

"Grandma."

Victoria immediately threw herself at Ava.

Ava said, "Don't hug me. I'm winning here. Go away. Go play by yourself."

Victoria was rendered speechless. So, love does disappear over time, right?

The lady next to Ava smiled and said, "Oh, is she your granddaughter? She is so pretty, looks just like you at a glance."

Pleased by the flattery, Ava showed a bit more kindness towards Victoria, saying, "Yes, yes, she is my granddaughter. I raised her myself. Isn't she pretty? By the way, do you have a grandson or granddaughter? How old are they? Are they married? If they're not married..."

"Ava," Just when the topic was about to go off track, a cold and magnetic voice sounded.

Ava looked up and saw a man in a black striped suit, with a tall and straight posture and a handsome face, walking in. His sharp and aggressive aura of an upper–class man was evident in his clearly defined features, and his affectionate eyes were looking at her with a hint of a smile.

"Ava, I'm Henry Harrison, Victoria's husband." Henry walked to Ava and introduced himself.

Victoria couldn't help but twitch her eyelids, feeling uneasy.

Ava merely glanced at him and then said, "I'm busy here. Victoria, why don't you take him out?"

"Okay."

Victoria nodded. She had no intention of letting Henry talk with her grandmother, either.

Henry also noticed that. But he raised his eyebrows and said, "Ava, I can help you win."

Ava snorted lightly, "How old are you? I've been playing this for decades, Winning them is easy–peasy for me."

Other ladies were rendered speechless.

Henry pulled over a chair and sat down, saying, "Do you want to win all the time?"

Ava looked at him. "Son, don't brag about yourself just because you're a bit clever."

Henry only replied, "You can just observe for a while. If you think I'm not good enough, just say so, and I'll leave immediately. I won't annoy you."

"Alright. Let's see what you've got!" Ava sneered and allowed him to sit behind her.

Seeing this, Victoria pressed her lips together and did not leave.

Dylan also had someone bring beverages over as he watched others play.

They played from eight in the morning until noon, with fifteen rounds of cards, and surprisingly, Ava didn't lose a single round!

The other ladies couldn't help but say, "Your granddaughter's husband is truly amazing. He actually helped you win all the lime."

"Yeah, and I feel like he looks a bit familiar. Was he on the news before?"

"I remember now. He's the president of the Harrison Group in Lanceser, right? My son is also partnering with the Harrison Group. But I didn't expect him to be so young and capable. Ava, you have struck gold with this one."

They kept going with something like that.

Then, they left the game room and went for lunch.

Ava counted the money she had won and stuffed it into Victoria's hands, saying, "Use it to buy yourself some candy."

Victoria pulled a wry face upon hearing that. "Do you still regard me as a child?"

"Aren't you just a child?" Ava said, "If you feel upset and unhappy, you come to me and cry for my help. Isn't that what a child does?"

Taken aback and feeling touched, Victoria looked at Ava and felt like crying suddenly.

"My grandma's words are meant for Henry! She's defending me." She thought.

Victoria held back her tears and reached out to push the wheelchair, "Grandma, let's go to your room. I haven't seen what your room looks like yet."

"Okay," Ava responded.

After leaving the game room, Dylan led the way in front. The atmosphere was somewhat awkward, and he didn't dare to say much. After taking everyone to the right door, he smiled and excused himself.

Ava lived in a suite. Upon entering, there was a small living room, which was connected to a balcony where one could enjoy distant views. To the right, after a turn, there was the bedroom with a king–sized bed. Opposite the bed was the TV, and there was also a wardrobe and a bathroom.

The environment was indeed top–notch.

Ava said, "I'm quite satisfied with this place. Living here in the future wouldn't be a problem. It's just a shame that I can't bring over the chickens, ducks, and geese from my yard. I also had some flowers in the garden, and if no one takes care of them, they will definitely wither."

Victoria suggested, "Shall I take you back?"

"I'm not going back." Ava waved her hand, "I'm a senior. Do you really want me to live in the town by myself?"

Victoria was rendered silent. She really didn't know what Ava wanted. However, having her living here would give Henry leverage to use against Victoria. Therefore, the situation became a bit complicated.

"Since Ava wants to stay, she can live here. I've already talked with the person in charge. If you have any needs, you can talk to him." Henry said.

Ava's gaze finally landed on Henry, and she said, "You do look pretty good, but it's a pity you've got an evil heart."

Henry remained calm. When dealing with the elderly, he had a bit more patience.

"Ava, you don't know what happened to us. My marriage with her is a bit complicated."

Ava replied, "Divorce her, then. Once you do, it won't be complicated. You can do whatever you want, and she won't be upset about you again."

"We won't get a divorce," Henry said in a deep voice, his handsome face looking cold. "Ava, Victoria will always be my wife."

Ava looked at him and asked, "What? Are you in love with her?"

Henry changed the topic, "We have a son. If we divorce, our son will grow up in a complicated family, which is not good for him. Things went well for the past five years. It's just that we had some misunderstandings recently, which made her think about divorce. I will resolve the problems."

Victoria's eyes became a bit colder.

Ava suddenly said to her, "Vicky, go get me some lunch. I'm hungry." She knew that her grandmother wanted to send her away.

She nodded, "Okay." Then, she left the room.

Ava's expression suddenly turned cold. She usually appeared casual and relaxed, giving off a kind and approachable vibe.

However, at this moment, her imposing presence was fully revealed, showcasing the elegance of a refined lady.

Even though she was sitting in a wheelchair, she did not appear weak in the slightest.

"Henry, I know everything. You were schemed against five years ago and ended up marrying my granddaughter. Therefore, you've been indifferent to her all these years. Do you think that you can do whatever you want to her since the Hardwick family doesn't take her seriously? She still has me!"

She sneered and continued, "You will get a divorce.

You probably don't know what kind of person I used to be.

As an old lady, I do know some people. It's no big trouble for me if I want to do something about the Harrison Group that you care about.

You wouldn't want the company you've worked so hard to build to fall into chaos, would you? "
