Chapter 180

Outside the building, Victoria observed her surroundings. The nursing home was decorated with flowers and greenery. There were places to walk and exercise and a lot of fitness equipment, as well as a small private hospital on–site to handle emergencies.

After loitering about for a while, she couldn't help but feel a bit worried, thinking, "Why hasn't Henry come out yet? Will Henry be rude to my grandmother? If he is, he'll really be a beast. I can't wait anymore."

She was still worried, so she first went to the cafeteria to get lunch and then quickly returned to the floor where her grandmother's room was located.

Just as Victoria came out of the elevator, she saw Henry coming out of Ava's room.

She walked over quickly.

Henry paused and said, "You..."

But unexpectedly, Victoria walked right past him and entered the room.

Henry was completely ignored.

"Grandma, how did it go?"

Victoria asked anxiously, even checking Ava's body up and down, afraid that she was injured.

Ava gave a helpless look. "Silly girl, don't you trust your own judgment?"

After all, Henry was the man Victoria had fallen in love with. How could he actually degrade himself by doing something to harm a defenseless old lady?

Victoria was taken aback, feeling inexplicably guilty. She glanced towards the door. Henry looked indeed unhappy, and then he left.

"Ahem... Grandma, what did you two talk about?" Victoria changed the subject.

Ava said, "I specifically sent you away just to talk about something that you can't know about. I'm hungry. Just bring the food over."

Victoria set up lunch and sat beside the table, propping her chin on her hand, and asked curiously, "Come on, tell me. Did you teach him a lesson? Did you scold him? Did you hit him?"

Ava said, "I'm from a decent family. How could I possibly do such things?"

Victoria was speechless. "Alright. She's not going to spill the beans." She thought.

Ava glanced at her with a complex expression but said nothing more. She just began to cat.

Victoria picked up her phone and sent a location to Pete. "Pete will be here soon. Grandma, are you sure you want to live here now?"

"Hmm." Ava nodded, "This place is really nice. I will stay here."

Victoria nodded and didn't try to persuade her again. She had lunch with Ava and watched her take a nap before finally leaving the room.

Pete also arrived but was stopped at the gate.

Those who hadn't been specially registered were not allowed to enter.

Victoria found the person in charge and told him, "That's my friend. I won't be coming often, but he will visit my grandmother frequently. Please register him."

"That's unnecessary." A man's cold voice came from behind.

Victoria turned her head and saw Henry standing not far away. The sunlight fell on him, but it still couldn't dispel that chill on him.

She walked over and said, "My grandma really likes Pete. If you stop him from seeing my grandma, she will be displeased."

Henry said, "You can visit her more often later. There's no need to entrust an outsider to see your grandma."

Victoria frowned at him. "Henry, my grandma saw Pete grow up as well. You can't do this."

"I can tell you two are really close. If it hadn't been for that incident, Pete would be the one you would have got married to, wouldn't he?" Henry gave a mocking smile.

Victoria crossed her arms. "Well, that's none of your business. In any case, you can't be so bossy. I don't want my grandma to be upset for not being able to see Pete."

Henry stared at her with a serious look and suddenly said, "Give me a kiss, and I'll let him in."

"You... What?"

Victoria was shocked, clearly not expecting him to make such a request!

A breeze brushed by, bringing a bit of coolness. Henry stood in front of Victoria, staring leisurely at her, one hand in his pocket, with a casual demeanor.

Victoria bit her lip, hesitating and struggling for quite a while, and finally closed her eyes and leaned in to kiss him.

"I've already had a son with him. Just a kiss won't kill me!" She psyched herself up.

She was planning just to kiss him and step back, but unexpectedly, with a tightening at her waist, Henry took the initiative and deepened the kiss.

Victoria's body stiffened for a moment; then she began to struggle. Fortunately, as she struggled, Henry also let her go.

"Register him, please!" He said to the staff and then turned to leave.

Victoria rubbed her lips with the back of her hand, shot Henry a fierce glare, and turned to walk towards the building

After registering, Pete quickly came in.

He looked worried, but when he saw Ava and Victoria chatting in the living room, he instantly relaxed.

"Ava, I'm glad to see you're fine."

Ava smiled and said, "What do you think of this place? Isn't it nice?"

Pete had a complicated expression on. "Yes, not bad."

Ava said, "I've decided to live here, so you don't have to worry about me living alone in that yard. Go and work on your shop, and carry forward your grandfather's craftsmanship."

Pete nodded, "I will."

Ava looked at Victoria again. "You've been here for several days. It's time for you to leave. Don't be afraid and don't worry. I will always be your grandmother, and no one can take me from you."

Victoria hugged her tightly, with an unwilling expression on her face. "But I want to stay a little longer."

Ava patted her back and said with a smile, "Vicky, there are many things you will have to face next. You can't waste time here. You can come back again when you handle everything, and don't forget to bring Jude with you. I'm quite fond of him."

"Hmm." Victoria nodded, still refusing to let go of Ava's hand.

Seeing her like that, Pete lowered his gaze to conceal the emotions in his eyes.

Ava was about to take a nap at noon, and Victoria waited until she fell asleep before quietly leaving the room.

She looked at Pete, smiled, and said, "I'm going back to Lanceser. When will you come? I will show you around."

Pete smiled slightly, his expression extremely gentle. "It's hard to say. Perhaps I will follow you and arrive tomorrow."

Victoria chuckled. "Alright, I'll wait for you."

As she walked out of the building, Victoria immediately saw Jacob standing not far away.

Seeing Jacob walking up to her, she frowned. Jacob only smiled and said, "Mrs. Harrison. Mr. Harrison is waiting for you in the car."

Victoria looked nonchalant. "I won't ride with him".

Jacob nodded, "Okay."

Pete drove Victoria to the airport. When she boarded the plane and saw Henry sitting next to her, she instantly understood why Jacob hadn't strongly insisted that she join him.

It turned out Henry was waiting for her on the plane.

Victoria sat down, adjusted her seat, put on her eye mask, and began to rest, completely cold–shouldering Henry.

Henry watched her doing all that, inexplicably finding her cute, and a faint smile appeared on his face.
