Chapter 21

Teddy

“Favorite restaurant?” I’ve been making an effort to get to know Ariel a little more, and this drive was the perfect idea. So far I’ve found out her favorite color is teal, her favorite band is Sleeping At Last, her favorite food is tacos, and her favorite animal is a Koala Bear.

“Chipotle. I know it sounds super basic, but you can not beat a nice steak burrito with some chips and guacamole.” I smile at her answer. She sounded like she was dreaming about it.

“Favorite sport if you have one?”

“Hockey. I went to a game once and the environment was thrilling.” I was not expecting that.

“Favorite hobby?”

“I love to read.”

“Let me guess romance books?”

“Is there another genre?” She laughs. “I just love reading about a man that would do anything for his woman.” Noted.

“Favorite book?”

“There’s a book called ‘Things We Never Got Over’ and it has to be my all time favorite. I mean it was one of those stories that just really speaks to you. It was a beautiful story.”

“Favorite flower?”

“Daisy. It’s what I’m naming my daughter. Daisies are said to represent rebirth and new beginnings, so that’s what I’ll name my little girl because she’s giving me this new beginning.”

“That’s a really beautiful name.”

“Thank you.”

We spend two hours driving around while I take in everything she tells me about herself. When we make it back to the ranch, it’s bedtime, so we get into her bed and drift off.
