Chapter 22
Ariel
“Where are we going?” I ask as Teddy covers my eyes and leads me through the house.
“You’ll see.” He chuckles.
When we finally stop, he takes his hands away, and I gasp at the sight before me. He converted one of the extra rooms in the house into a library. Each wall is covered in floor to ceiling bookshelves. In the center of the room is a teal chair, one of those ones that look like a mini bed.. The light in the room has been replaced by a beautiful chandelier, and hanging from the ceiling is fake ivy and daisies. It’s magical. I step inside and walk over to see what books are on the shelves. My mind goes to our drive from two days ago when he was asking me about my favorite things.
“Favorite author?”
“I have a couple favorites. There’s Catherine Cowles, Lucy Score, Elsie Silver, Jane Austen, Meghan Quinn, and so much more. Basically anytime a book is released that author becomes my favorite.”
The shelves are filled with all my favorite authors and books plus more that I didn’t tell him about. It looks like he bought out an entire bookstore. I smile as I imagine him in the romance section taking one of everything.
There’s still some empty shelf space, and I imagine it’s so I can fill it with more of my favorites.
“How did you do this? When?”
“Well that first night, I stayed up late to order the shelves and books. Payed for overnight delivery. Had them delivered to Harley’s house. Then when you were in the office working, I put the room together.”
“Thank you.” I launch myself at him, and kiss him. Hoping it conveys how much I appreciate everything he does.
“Shall we christen the library?”
“Hell yeah.”
