CAMERON

Uh, hi. This is Cameron. Shit, I wasn’t expecting to get your voicemail.

I miss you already. I mean—no, I do. I know you only drove away a few hours ago, and maybe you’re even back in Boston already, but it feels like a year has passed.

I hate being without you. Ahem. Well, what I called to say was, the last time we saw each other, I made some assumptions about how you felt, and I let you leave without telling you that I wanted more.

That you were my whole world, and I would have done anything for you.

I don’t want to do that again. So here I am. Telling you.

I want you. I want everything with you. I want to wake up and hear your voice. I want to see your face before I fall asleep. I want you to fuck me. I’d fuck you too, if you asked. I want to cover your perfect face in kisses, and I want all your infuriatingly hot rings on my nightstand.

Fuck, I cannot believe I’m doing this.

God, Nico. I have no idea how you feel, and maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree.

But I need to try to make this work. I can drive down to see you on my days off.

We can make you a studio in the space above Frosty’s, so you have a place to work when you come to visit Sleighbell Springs.

I probably won’t be able to travel with you often, but there are video calls and those vibrators you can control with a phone app, you know? I’m all in if you want me.

If you’re not interested and I just got way too in my feels over a hookup—fuck—please delete this message and pretend it never happened. Josie wants you to paint a mural for the vet clinic, and when you come back for that, I promise I won’t make it weird.

Actually, I’m not sure I can promise that, at least not anytime soon.

I care about you so much, Nico. You’re charming, talented, incredibly resourceful, and kind.

Your eyes are the same shade of blue as the sky when it clears after a fresh snow.

I could look at them forever. You deserve everything good in this world, and if I can play any part at all in making your dreams come true, I will.

You should come back and paint that mural either way.

Call me when you get this? Or don’t, if you think I’m insane. God, this is embarrassing; I need to stop talking. Um, talk to you soon, maybe. Drive safe. Bye.
