Chapter Thirty-Two
Kat
“Never have I ever driven a Formula One car,” I said defiantly to several groans and several cheers.
Plus, a very loaded, “Yeah?” directly in my ear.
His hand spread wide on my stomach, making me wildly aware of how big is hands were.
I grinned, definitely tipsy after my third half and half concoction.
“One of you assholes said ‘never have I ever had a vagina’ two minutes ago, so I don’t want to fucking hear it!
” I shouted. There were murmurings of agreement, especially considering I was the only woman here, still.
If they couldn’t take it, they shouldn’t dish it out.
Even though I was pretty sure it was Milo cackling after targeting me.
I put a finger down at some inane thing the guy next to me said, not looking forward to whatever the mischievous look in Milo’s eye meant the next time it hit him.
I also wasn’t sure if I had had three fingers left or two.
I stared at my hand for a second, trying to think back, but I was thoroughly distracted.
By the hand that had simultaneously slid a little further down my stomach, hidden inside the jacket pocket, and pulled me tighter back into him at the same time.
“Never have I ever had sex NOT in a bed,” some guy I didn’t know said a few people down. I snorted, then shouted, “That is fucking BORING.” It was lost in the myriad of other insults thrown his way. That was a brave yet tactical move I could commend.
I couldn’t commend his lack of creativity or spontaneity, though. Like… never? Not even like in the shower? Or… wow. I felt bad for his girlfriend or boyfriend if he had one.
“Never? Really? Never,” I said, sounding as unbelieving as I felt.
I was definitely tipsy. I would never be razzing a complete stranger’s boring sex life otherwise.
I didn’t hear an answer, but I heard Milo and his rookie friend continuing to ask follow up questions.
I turned to Andrew in the chair next to us.
“I’m not crazy, right?” I asked incredulously.
He snorted, just as deep in his cup as I was.
Probably closer to Henry’s current state, actually.
Which was saying something, because Henry had just kissed my neck when no one was looking.
I hadn’t rid myself of the goosebumps just yet. I needed to stop drinking.
“You’re not crazy. He’s crazy,” Andrew said, wildly confidently. Henry chuckled quietly. He traced the shell of my ear with his nose when Andrew started talking to someone on his other side.
“Some people like missionary once a week in the dark, Kat. That’s just who some people are,” he whispered. I laughed softly.
“Just because you’re not like that, doesn’t mean they aren’t out there,” he teased. Well, that was just uncalled for. Because I was, inherently, not like that. At all. God damn.
Thankfully, I was delivered from whatever the hell was happening over here by the arrival of Becca and Sofia. And surprisingly, Jacob and Mark. Henry didn’t move, but just hollered over to them, careful to stay away from my ear.
“Where the bloody hell are your kids?” he asked. Becca flipped him off, looking like she’d maybe started her party before getting here. I had a feeling this party was going to be… intense.
“Where do you think? Have to make them pay somehow. Now we need shots!”
Oh, fuck.
I managed to dodge the first round of shots. But unfortunately, my shot ended up in Henry’s hands somehow. So, I was net zero, he was down two. Fantastic.
It didn’t matter if I’d dodged that first shot after all. Because I was pried out of Henry’s grasp by his sister and sister-in-law, and I had a feeling I’d want the shots, now. Henry stood to follow us, but Becca pushed him back down.
“It’s girl time. Butt out,” she teased, sticking her tongue out at him.
Had I asked for girls to come to the party? Had I really? I didn’t think I had.
I didn’t want girl time.
Girl time sounded bad.
I swiped a shot glass directly out of Milo’s hand, tossed it back, and slipped it back into his hand. He looked at me incredulously as I was hauled to the bar by the front of Henry’s jacket by Becca.
I looked at Milo pleadingly, but he just laughed at me and waved mockingly.
Bastard.
