Chapter 17 #3
They’d had some strong conversations over the past day.
After cleaning up from their joining, Thrasik had asked her once again about the scale around her throat.
She wasn’t able to reveal much more than what she’d told him prior, but they both began to theorize that maybe someone at Silyre was at the root of it.
That maybe instead of just finding answers, they might also find the person who was distributing said scales.
He’d also questioned her on what she enjoyed and didn’t enjoy from the prior day.
Her heart panged over him taking any aspect of her desire into consideration, as none in the past ever had.
She hardly had an answer for what she didn’t like though, and seeing the coy smirk on his face lit flutters through her belly.
His smugness had carried over and she’d caught him eyeing her and licking his snout a few times.
Every so often, her mind would wander back to his smooth scales being wrapped around her and those dual cocks supporting her weight.
Warmth spread through her face as the thought invaded her senses again and made her aching pussy clench in memory.
As much as she wanted to partake in his flesh again, the danger that lurked out in the fields was too much for them to wildly lavish each other’s bodies on a whim.
For the past hour she’d taken to walking by his side.
Her thighs ached from being stretched around his back for so long, both while fucking him and riding.
He tried pushing back against her request, but understood the need to move her muscles.
Secretly, it was because she couldn’t handle being turned on by the bumps along his spine any more.
Griselda moved her hands from her snowy twisted braids toward her face and tried to soothe the heat that speckled her cheeks.
Her mind was a whirlwind of emotions. So many emotions that she heavily considered maybe the dangers would be worth it to have her strapping naga devour her and offer his blessings once again.
Her eyes flickered over to him once more. Usually he’d have sniffed out her desire and teased her about being so impatient by now. Instead, his lips were curled back into a mocking snarl. His spines bristled on end. Confused, Griselda looked ahead to see what he was focused on.
Cresting upon a small hill was the wall containing Silyre within its bounds.
Compared to the stone path, the wall was a shining remark.
Had she not known better, Griselda would have thought it was made of alabaster with the small tinge of veins running through its white pattern.
An iron gate arched between two feline-esque statues.
At their distance, she could hardly make out their features.
Standing on either side of the statues were two huge guards in armor like she’d never seen.
Her jaw dropped at the sight. They would easily tower over her and might even give Thrasik a challenge.
The blaring issue though was that their armor was pitch black and reflected the entire world around them.
No guard she’d ever seen had been decorated in such beautifully crafted and cared for garb.
A low growl revved beside her.
Thrasik’s neck vibrated as if he was about to flare his hood.
“Hey, let’s not do that to people who we don’t know. They might actually be helpful,” she soothed, reaching over to wrap her arm around him and rub his hand.
“Unlikely,” he spat back. “I recognize that armor.”
His voice was full of malice. A tone that rivaled any she’d ever heard from him.
A strong wind blew from behind them, flapping the fabric of her dress around her calves. They both stared ahead and watched with a clenching discomfort as both the guard’s heads immediately snapped their direction despite the distance.
“That doesn’t bode well.” Griselda raised a finger to her teeth and gnawed on the side of a cuticle.
“Really? I thought they seemed rather friendly,” Thrasik mocked sarcastically, his head rotating before he shot a glare back toward the gate.
“Okay, listen, you don’t have to be a smart ass over it. Maybe they’re different than the guards at Mistveil.” She knocked her free knuckles against his and stepped back away.
“Or, they’re actually worse and going straight through the gate is a huge mistake.” Thrasik folded his arms. His back stiffened.
“You make it sound as though you had an alternate route?” Griselda sized him up, unsure if she wanted to argue about something he’d possibly kept hidden.
“Well, no,” he huffed. “But, I’m sure we could have figured something out. I don’t know, Griselda. This is all starting to feel… wrong. This city doesn’t look how I remember it. Something strange is happening here. I feel it in my scales.”
He scratched at his throat where the missing scale would have sat. Grabbing for her necklace, Griselda thought about tucking it into her cleavage. They didn’t know how the guards would react, but seeing how alert they looked didn’t fill her with confidence.
The closer they got, the more the guards appeared to be fully plated statues instead. They didn’t give a familiar aura.
In fact, Griselda’s hair stood on end as ethereal flames bore into her from the slit of their helmets.
Are they even human?
