Chapter 36- Stranger
" Oh my God, you're awake, you're awake hon," My mom said with tears in her eyes as she rushed to Bella's side.
" Thank God," My Dad breathed in relief, everyone was so worried about her. I was on the other side of the bed as I looked down at Bella.
" Water," She whispered dryly and I quickly rushed to get her water.
" I'll call the doctor," Dad said as he opened the door and walked out to go get the doctor.
Mom took the glass of water from me and she helped Bella drink the water with a straw, whispering for her to take it gently. After she drank as much as she could she laid back down on the bed as she looked at us with confusion in her eyes. I'm sure she was surprised she found herself here.
" What am I doing here? Who are you people?" Mom and I slowly turned to look at each other in confusion, how terrible was the accident that she suddenly couldn't remember a thing?
" What are you saying, Bella? We're your family, this is Mom and me Anna, your best friend slash sister." I said as I looked at her hoping the information I gave to her would help her but she just looked at us in confusion but suddenly she broke into a mischievous smile.
" Gosh I can't believe you actually fell for that, you seem to forget I have a strong head," she croaked out.
" Don't scare me like that Bella, it's not funny," Mom said in anger, but we both knew she wasn't angry.
" I'm sorry Mom, I just wanted to scare you a little," This was Bella for you, she'd make a joke out of any situation.
" I'm glad you're up," Mom said as she took Bella's hand and dropped a kiss.
" I'm jealous," I joked and Mom chuckled.
" You know you both are my princesses, here, come here, I'll give you a kiss," Mom said and I walked to her, she kissed my cheek while Bella playfully glared at me.
The doctor came to check on Bella and thankfully everything was okay, it was just her leg and neck that needed healing.
Mom and Dad started talking animatedly with her while I excused myself to go make a quick call.
" She's awake," I said happily to Cole.
" That's good news, I'll come see her when I close from work,"
" Okay...I told my mom about us," I said and the line on the other end became silent for a while before he spoke.
" What did she say?" He asked I could tell he wanted her approval of our relationship.
" She wasn't so thrilled about it but I told her that it's my choice and I want you, she didn't have a choice but to agree,"
" You don't have to worry about that, I'll prove to her that I'm perfect son-in-law material," I couldn't help but chuckle.
" I miss you," I said as a smile took over my face.
" I miss you every time, you don't know how much," He said and I could hear his voice take a hint of seduction.
" I can't wait to have you alone so I could show you just how much I've missed you," He whispered, this wasn't the time to be talking about all this but damn I couldn't refuse his sexy ass voice.
" Let's talk later, I'm really sorry about the Derick incident, I'll be in the office tomorrow," I said, switching to secretary mode.
"You don't have to apologize, I know what happened," He said in understanding.
" Thanks, I'll go back to them now,"
" Alright, let's talk later,"
" Okay, bye, " I said before I ended the call.
I decided to go get coffee downstairs, the hospital coffee wasn't the best but it would have to do now. I got the coffee and started walking back to Bella's room when my phone vibrated with a message, I opened my phone and I read the message with my eyes on my phone when I suddenly bumped into someone.
" Shit, that's fucking hot," I heard a male voice groan in pain that's when I realized I had poured my coffee on him.
" I'm so sorry, I'm sorry, it's my fault I wasn't looking," I said apologetically as I looked at his arm that was now red, his shirt was also soaked with my coffee. He must have a burn on his skin now because of me.
" You?" He asked in surprise and I looked at him in confusion, did he know me?
" I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pour my coffee on you, I wasn't watching where I was going,"
" It's okay, it was an accident, just be careful next time,"
"Thank you," I was worried about his skin. What if the burn was very bad?
" Since we're already in the hospital why don't we meet a nurse or doctor to give you something for the burn," I said as he looked at his arm before looking at me.
" It's nothing, it would be all normal after a cold shower,"
" Uhm, just now you sounded like you know me, have we met before?" I asked
" So you don't remember, maybe because we didn't speak for long."
" I'm sorry but I don't,"
" I'm the guy you met at the golf course, I offered to teach you golfing but you said you were with your boss," He said and I searched through my brain quickly for him before I remembered.
" Oh, I remember now, I'm sorry I couldn't remember you, as you said, we didn't really talk for long,"
" So what brings you to the hospital?" I asked,
" Just came to see my friend's kid, got really down with the flu and asked for his favorite uncle, had to come see him,"
" That's so nice,"
" What about you? Why are you here?"
" My best friend got into an accident, been unconscious, she just woke up today,"
" Hope she's doing fine?" He asked with concern.
" Yeah, if she woke up and faked having amnesia, then I'd say she's fine," The guy I didn't know his name or perhaps he told me when we met before but I don't have it in any department of my brain laughed.
" Are you serious? That's hilarious,"
" I don't mean to be rude but I have to go back to them," I said,
" It's fine,"
" Sorry once again," I apologized and was about to start walking to Bella's room when he stopped me.
" Can I have your number?"
