Chapter 57- Couples Gossiping

" Fix this?! Seriously?!" I said in anger as I paced the kitchen and the kitchen staff just looked at me, looking as confused as I was.

" Can you guys do something about this real quick, we have guests and we cannot disappoint them by not having enough for them to eat even worse, the CEO's mother specifically asked for this, so whatever you can do hurry up," I said to them and I was about to run my fingers through my hair but I stopped myself, I didn't want to ruin the hair Gabby spent so much time styling.

" We'll take care of it, madam, there wouldn't be a problem feeding the guests, we have more than enough chicken taquitos we haven't brought to the table, as soon as we saw that she started making trouble I signaled the cook not to bring any other thing to the table, the ones she threw on the floor is a waste but it's not enough to cause a shortage," The head chef said.

I couldn't help but breathe in relief.

" This means we don't have to run around looking for how to make up for the ones she had thrown?" I asked and he nodded.

" Oh thank God, thank you so much, I'll return to the event," I said with a smile as I took the chef's hand and squeezed.

" Thank you so much," I said again.

" It's okay ma'am, I'm glad we could help," He said.

" Thank you, everyone," I said before walking out.

I had a smile on my face knowing that everything was sorted out and I didn't have anything to worry about, that witch would be so shocked.

My smile instantly disappeared when I saw that someone had taken my seat beside Cole, my problem wasn't that someone took my seat, my problem was the someone that took my seat. That crazy bitch, what was she doing beside my man?

I knew I wouldn't be able to walk up to her and ask her to get up, to the world I was nothing but his secretary, not his girlfriend, while people like her were considered people of the higher-ups.

Instead of walking to them, I decided to walk to an empty seat as I made myself comfortable and the other occupants of the seat didn't mind me joining them.

I watched from where I was seated as she kept trying to hold Cole's arm and he looked so uncomfortable. My man looked like he needed saving from her.

She kept talking but all Cole wanted to do was to be out of there, I noticed the way he kept looking around like he was expecting me.

I'm sure he would be wondering why I haven't returned so I decided to text him.

' I had to take another seat babe, since that annoying woman doesn't know her place, gosh I don't like her, she's troublesome and proud,' I typed as I sent it to him.

His reply quickly came as he sent laughing emojis.

' I thought I was the only one who found her annoying, she irks me and she doesn't even know it,' His message read and I laughed out but quickly composed myself when the people at the table looked at me like I was beginning to lose it.

' I can't believe we're gossiping about her and she's just sitting beside you ' I typed back putting a lot of laughing emojis before sending it to him.

' She's the last thing I want to talk about, how about we talk about how I'm going to take that dress off you tonight, ' I couldn't help but look beside me and make sure no one was reading my messages as I reduced my screen light.

" From what I remember you pretty much like tearing rather than removing,' I sent to him again with a winking emoji.

I saw him look around again, I could tell he was looking for me.

' You're making me hard my love,' His message came again with a fire emoji and eggplant and I couldn't help the laughter that escaped my lips.

I needed to stop messaging him before I did something stupid.

' Later ' I replied before turning my phone screen down and dropping it on the table as I watched the ballet dancers on the stage.

My phone started ringing and it was a call from Bella, she knew I had come for the ball. Why was she calling me?

Must be something important because I know she wouldn't call me if it wasn't.

I needed to pick up the call.

I quietly got up as I left the event and climbed the stairs heading to the restroom.

I opened the door and got in then I dialed Bella's number as I patiently waited for her to pick up.

" Anna, where are you right now?" She asked, sounding panicked.

" I'm at the ball, did you forget?" I asked.

" No, like right now, where are you?"

" In the…." I didn't get to complete what I wanted to say when a hand covered my mouth and my phone dropped to the floor.

******

Could this woman just get the hell away from me? The seat she was currently occupying belonged to my woman, not her, she just kept blabbing and blabbing.

One thing about Mirabel was she didn't know when to keep quiet, once she started talking there was no stopping.

I looked around for Anna but I couldn't find her. Where did she go? If this annoying woman wasn't sitting here she'd be sitting beside me and I wouldn't have to be looking around like an ostrich.

" You know what Cole, I'm so glad our companies are partners, but I feel like I want to work in a company outside mine. How would you like it if I worked as your secretary? I'd like that a lot," Not even in your dreams.

" I'm sorry Mirabel but I already have a secretary," I said without sparing her a glance.

" You can fire her and put me there," She said and that made me turn to her.

" You want me to fire someone who worked hard to be in a position because of you who have everything, you just want me to fire her like that? Can you hear yourself?"

" Come on Cole, don't make it sound like I'm a bad person, you can send her to our own company,"

" I'm sorry but I'm okay with my secretary, she works fine, wouldn't want to change her…" For someone like you who is spoiled and I would have to beg to work…but I didn't say that out loud though.

Where the hell was Anna? I had to get away from this woman. She was driving me nuts.
