Chapter 65- In Trouble
“ What are you talking about? Haven't we talked about this?" I asked as I looked at her in confusion. I couldn't deny the fact that her saying ‘no’ hurt me.
Was she still worried that her Mom would disapprove of me as her boyfriend or was she embarrassed? But she told me she wasn't embarrassed and I believed her. Did she suddenly change her mind?
“ I'm just saying not yet," she said with a shake of her head.
“ But we've talked about this, you even accepted that I should come over to your place for dinner then why the sudden change?" I asked her.
Suddenly I hated that Derick guy even more. If we weren't here she wouldn't be saying this to me. I'm sure she's saying all this because of everything that happened.
" I don't know, babe, I really don't know, I just feel…”
" It's okay, I understand," I said as I sat on the bed and hugged her, I wanted to be her shoulder to lean on and not add more burden to her shoulders. As long as she was okay, that's all that matters. She's my woman and nobody is going to separate us.
" You don't need to stress yourself about anything, I'm here for you and until you feel comfortable to introduce me as your boyfriend I'm not going to force you,” I said and she nodded before I dropped a kiss on her forehead.
“ I'm sorry babe, I didn't mean to upset you but my mom can be quite a tigress, she's the strict one among my parents. My dad wouldn't mind because he knows I'm old enough but my mom, I think after finding out about Derick; is going to be a wildfire if any guy comes close to me, you can imagine how she'll react if she finds out you are now my boyfriend,” she said and I couldn't help but chuckle as I tried to picture it.
" Why are you laughing?” She asked as she looked up to me.
" I tried picturing your angry mother and it was a funny sight, her running around this hospital chasing me with her shoe,” I said and she chuckled as she held onto me tighter.
“ Yeah, I can definitely picture my mom doing that," she said.
" You know it's funny how your mom is the strict one and my Dad is the strict one it was like we were meant to be,” I said.
" We were meant to be, I just wish things were different so we could be like other couples, I'm still suggesting I quit and get another job somewhere else,” she said but I shook my head. I wanted her to be close to me every time.
“ That's not an option Anna, I want you by my side, we don't need to tell anyone we're dating, we're happy and that's all that matters,” I said and she nodded with a sigh.
" Why's life so funny? When I was dating that prick I didn't have all these troubles of hiding but now that I've found the one I truly love it's hard to just love in peace, why?”
" It's okay my love everything will work out just fine. So do you want me to leave before your Mom comes?” I asked but she shook her head.
" You don't have to leave, you're my boss so it's not bad for you to worry about me, right?” She asked and I couldn't help but smile, at least she didn't want me to leave.
" Right, I'll just wait outside when they come,” I said but she shook her head.
" But you don't need to go outside, you can be here, I don't want you to go,” she said as she looked up at me with a pout.
" But they might want privacy to talk to you and she might be throwing daggers at me so it's best I wait outside," I said.
“ Fine but…" her phone started ringing, cutting off whatever she wanted to say.
“ Hey Bells,” she said.
" I'm just going to warn you that we're in the hospital in case you're being all cozy with your hot boyfriend,” her best friend said unaware that the phone was on speaker and I tried not to laugh.
" Alright, thank you for the warning," she said before the call ended and then I pulled her into me and kissed her lips passionately as my hand squeezed her right boob before I stood up.
“ That's unfair," she said with a pout.
“ I'm just trying to take enough before they come, and it's doesn't help that you look beautiful even in a fucking hospital gown," I said as I put my hands in my pocket trying to adjust that mini me that was beginning to raise its head.
“ I'm trying to act like you're my boss and you just kissed the shit out of me, now how am I supposed to stay calm without looking at you every second? My mom is definitely going to suspect something, I'm…” A knock came on the door and she quickly adjusted herself as I drew the bed covers up her chin before pulling back.
" I'm wet and it's all your fault,” she whispered and I chuckled before the door opened.
Her mother walked in wheeling Bella into the room. She was just the older version of Anna.
“ Hello Ma," I said as I stretched my hand to her for a handshake as she took my hand.
“Cole,” she said as I turned to Anna with a smile and she waved at me.
“ I'm glad Anna is doing okay," I said and she nodded before turning her attention to her daughter.
“ Mom," I heard Anna whisper as she looked at her mom with a pout and I knew that it was my cue to leave. Her mom looked pretty upset.
“ Uhm, I'll be outside," I said and was about to walk out of the room but Anna's mom's voice stopped me.
“ Where do you think you're going?" She asked and I stopped in my tracks.
I slowly turned to her and the look in her eyes told me I was in trouble.
