Chapter 93- Golddigger

“ Anna!" I shouted in fear as I went on my knee and lifted her head and then placed it on my lap. This wasn't supposed to happen but thanks to my dad I ended up hitting my woman.

“ This is your fault Dad, I swear…” I stopped myself from saying anything as I tried to wake Anna, I didn't want to think anything negative.

" Jerry, what's wrong with you? Why are you doing this to this poor child? Can't you just allow these children to be happy? They love each other, is that so hard to see?” My Mom asked, clearly angry and frustrated at the situation.

“ I can't allow anyone who is just after my son's money to marry him, and she's making my son act crazy, he was about to hit his own father," he still dared to say,

I didn't even bother answering him. My entire focus was on Anna as she began to stir. She groaned as her hand went to the back of her head and then she slowly peeled her eyes open

“ Baby, you're fine, there's no blood, don't worry," I said as I hugged her, if anything worse had happened to her I would have left my father and nothing would have ever made me forgive him. He doesn't love me. His actions were enough proof, I've told him Anna is my happiness, if he truly loves me he wouldn't be doing all this.

“ I'm going to say this for the last time Cole, you're not going to marry this woman,” my father said as Anna held onto me in fear before he scoffed and walked out of the room.

" I don't know why your father is doing this but this is wrong, Son, I see the way you look at Anna, you've never looked at any woman like that, I see the way you are with her and it makes me happy, I want you to be happy for the rest of your life, I don't want you to marry a woman you're forced to marry, I want you to marry for love. I'll talk to your father, there must be a way around this,” my Mom said and I smiled, I just don't know what I'll do without her support.

I can't imagine how hectic it would have been if the two of them were opposing our relationship.

" Thank you so much Mom,” I said as I carefully lifted Anna in my arms and walked out of the meeting room with my Mom following behind me.

“ You'll be fine my dear," my Mom said in encouragement as she touched Anna's hand. There wasn't a doubt in her eyes that she was happy about the engagement.

We got into the elevator and soon enough we reached my office as I took Anna inside and laid her on the couch. My Mom refused to leave, she said she had to make sure that Anna was doing okay.

“ I'll get you water and an ice bag,” she said before she went to get the things.

“ Why did you get in front of me, my love?” I asked as I took her hand and dropped a kiss on it.

“You were going to hit your dad and I couldn't let you do that because of me, I know you were going to regret doing it, he's your dad after all," she said as she combed her fingers through my hair and I closed my eyes in bliss.

“ Don't do that again, you got me so worried," I said,

“ As long as you're not trying to hit anyone," she said,

" By the way, you do know I'm a golddigger right?” she said and I looked at her with a raised brow.

" I only dig for fine things, I'm a golddigger and you're my gold,” she said and I couldn't help but smile.

" I sure am gold,” I said as I began bringing my lips close to hers but the sound of my Mom clearing her throat made me pull away with a chuckle. This time I was the one who blushed.

“ Here, drink this honey," my Mom said as she handed pain relief to me and I opened two and handed the medicine to Anna. I wouldn't want her to have a headache after that fall.

After she took the medicine, I used the ice bag to press the back of her head.

“ Don't you dare play super woman again, you'll be punished for it," I warned her and she pouted.

" I am fine,” she said with a cute face and I couldn't help but laugh at her childishness.

" You two are so cute, I can't wait for you to get married,” my Mom said with a broad smile and I knew she could already imagine little kids running around and calling her grandma. I could see it as clear as day in her eyes.

“ I have to go now, please take care of Anna, son," she said as she rubbed my head and then kissed her on the head.

“ Take care my dear, and please listen to my son's advice not to play super woman again," she said and Anna nodded,

“ Thank you Ma, thank you for taking care of me," Anna said and my Mom smiled as she touched her cheek.

“ You're my daughter so I should take care of you," she said with a smile before she waved at us and walked out of my office.

“ I wish your Dad was as accepting as your Mom, she's so sweet and understanding right from time,” she said as I sighed.

" I don't care what he thinks but I'm not going to marry Mirabel and that's final, I can't marry another woman when I already have a beautiful fiancee can I now?” I said and she blushed.

“ Thank you so much baby, thank you for all that you do for me, you've had to go through a lot because of me," she said but I shook my head,

“ No, I should be the one thanking you, thank you for not giving up on me, tell me you'll never leave me,” I said as I kissed her neck. The thought of her leaving me felt like I would die.

“ I'll never leave you baby, never,"

“ No matter what," I said,

“ No matter what,"
