Chapter 94- Meeting His Friends
We were currently seated at a restaurant with Cole and some of his friends, I don't think I've actually met his friends before, well aside Nathan who happens to be his brother too.
They were nice but the female in the group looked at me strangely especially when Cole introduced me as his fiancee, it was like she didn't like the news or she wanted Cole to consult her before engaging a girl, either ways I didn't care.
“ I really can't believe Cole is engaged...." The girl, was it Amanda or Ame? said as she turned to look at me and I knew she was soon going to start trouble.
“ Although she's not the type of girl I envisioned that he'd be getting married to," she said with a scowl.
“ Amanda," one of the guys said in warning as he nudged her.
“ What type of woman did you envision him to spend his life with?" I asked, deciding to play her game and the guys just watched us, including Cole.
“ I don't know, someone better," she said with a shrug,
" When you say better, do you mean someone brainless who knows nothing but to shop and shop without a future plan because they've been spoiled by Mommy and Daddy? Someone who's scared of carrying his child because she cares about only the trend of not getting pregnant because she'll lose shape or a spoilt little bitch who can't keep her home and tells everything that happens between her and her husband to her friends at brunch just because she wants to talk or, let me not forget, someone with bad eyesight like yourself who thinks she knows better, please honey, be quiet if you don't know what to say,” I said and I could see her face flame up in anger.
The guys were quiet but I could see them trying their best not to laugh.
" You think you know better?” she asked in anger as she stood up,
" I've said all I need to say,” I said as I turned to Cole and kissed him just to spite her and the guys cheered like they were having fun with our little banter.
“ Amanda chill before you give yourself a heart attack, you're just angry that she's not scared of you, we all know how you like intimidating people who don't know you, so seat down and stop the drama," Jaden, one of Cole's friends said to her and she grudgingly sat down.
" Women are so dramatic,” Nathan whispered but we heard him.
The dinner ended up being fun and I was surprised that Amanda opened up to me a little, no wonder the guys found our interaction funny.
We talked and laughed until it was time to leave.
Cole had his hand around his friend's shoulder as they talked about what not, so I decided to walk ahead.
Just as I was about to walk out of the restaurant, someone linked their arm with me and I turned to see Amanda.
“ Uhm, hey," I said not knowing what else to say,
“ You know I do have bad eyesight though," she said with a chuckle,... “I didn't wear my glasses tonight,"
I laughed although I didn't know if she meant for that to be funny.
“ The thing is I've always liked Cole, I can't deny that I'm a little jealous but I'm still going to confess that you're good for each other and I'm sorry for my little behavior in there, I can be a little…should I say overbearing sometimes," she said with a laugh and I managed a smile, not knowing if she was being real or this was all an act.
“ I wish you both all the happiness,” she said and without warning she hugged me and I didn't know what to do so I just left my hands dangling at my side but when she refused to pull away I had no choice but to hug her back.
" Okay, okay, that's enough, you took the man of my dreams, I should be mad at you but I'm not. Congratulations for mending Mr playboy.” she said as she squeezed my hand.
Cole was really popular for the play boy title.
" Good night, have a safe drive home," she said and I nodded before she walked away and I just leaned on the car as I waited for Cole.
“ You know you girls can be overly dramatic sometimes, just some minutes ago you ladies looked like if you were given a knife you'd stab each other but just now you were hugging,” Cole said and I chuckled,
" At least we were only arguing, guys would literally punch each others and bleed and yet they'd still act like nothing happened,” I said as he opened the car door for me.
" We're naturally built for violence,” he said before he closed the car door and turned around to the driver's side.
" It was such a long night,” Cole said as soon as he got into the car… “ You know what baby? I liked the way you put Amanda in her place, it was such a turn on,”
He kept his hand on my thigh as he squeezed, then he started the car and drove out of the restaurant.
The car window was down just like I asked as the cold breeze blew across my face and I closed my eyes, enjoying the feeling.
There's something I've been wanting to ask him but I didn't know if now was the right time or not.
“ Babe," I called and he hummed as he took my hand and kissed it as he had his eyes on the road.
“ There's something I'd like to know, just tell me if this isn't a good time to ask you a question and I'll ask another time," I said,
“ Everytime with you is a good time, so you can ask me anything," he said as he briefly turned to me with a smile before turning back to the road.
“ It's uhm about your brother, how did he die?"
