Chapter 116- The Message
For a minute, I couldn't move, I couldn't believe what I just saw, my son was alive, someone was with my son.
It was like a bucket of water was being poured on me. I kicked back to action as I picked my phone and dialed my assistant's number. She picked on the second ring.
“ Cherry come to my hotel room, now, it's an emergency, bring Liam with you," I said and without waiting for a response I ended the call.
I got out of bed and started pacing, could this all be a prank to rile me up? In the interview I mentioned my son, was it a bad idea doing that?
I looked at the message again and my heart clenched in fear, could this person have my son?
‘ Leave Texas if you want to see your son again.’
A knock came on the door and I quickly rushed the door and opened it.
“ Are you okay?" Liam asked as he walked in, Cherry following behind him.
“ I'm not okay, I got a message and it's about my son, I don't know Liam, I think someone is messing with me," I said as I fidget.
" What message?” Liam asked and I just gave him my phone.
" Shit! We need to report this to the police, but we'd have to wait till morning because even if we tell them now they won't be able to do anything," Liam said.
" But who's this person? Why are they doing this to me?” I said as my vision blurred and Liam hugged me.
Four good years of searching for him and there wasn't even something as simple as a hint of where he might be, whether he was still alive. And suddenly not even up to three days I came to Texas there's a threat to leave or I'll never see my son.
" I think he's here, I think whoever has Andrew is here in Texas and my presence here doesn't sit well with that person, Liam I'm not going to leave this city until I find my son, maybe that's why I've been feeling the need to come here but I was scared, my son must be here,” I said as I walked to the bed and sat down.
" Do you have an idea of anyone who wouldn't want you in this city?” Cherry asked but I shook my head.
" Think very well, there might be someone," she said,
I searched through every corner of my brain and there was just one name that kept ringing in my head, the only person I think could possibly be threatened by my appearance.
“ My ex fiance's wife, but I don't think so, what we had was never real so I don't think she's the one, they were in everything together, they made a joke of me, why would she feel threatened by my presence?" I said,
" If you suspect her then we have to investigate her, there might be something you might have missed about her,” Liam said,
" Yeah, he's right,” Cherry seconded.
" But what could it be? They're in love with each other.” I said,
" Listen, try getting some sleep, we'll look into this first thing tomorrow morning," Liam said and I nodded, before I climbed into bed with each of them by my side.
I knew I wouldn't be able to sleep, but I closed my eyes pretending to be asleep so they would leave.
“ I swear if I get the person behind this I'll throw him or her into a pool with crocodiles, she hasn't done anything to anyone to deserve what she's going through," I heard Cherry say.
" Whoever that person is deserves more than death. Let's go, she needs to sleep,” Liam said before I heard them leaving and then the door closed.
As soon as the door closed and I knew they weren't going to come back, I opened my eyes and let the tears fall.
I don't deserve this, I didn't do anything to anyone. The joy of being a mother was taken from me even before I had the chance to really enjoy it.
I cried myself until I fell asleep wishing that a miracle would happen and I'll find my son.
