Chapter 127- Shadows of the Past

“ Sam! Sam!" I called as I ran into the house like a man whose house had been set on fire.

“ Sam!” I called as I ran upstairs to his room but he wasn't inside.

" Martha! Martha! Where's Sam?” I asked his nanny and she looked at me in confusion.

" He's in the garden, his grandpa came to see him,” I didn't wait a second, I was already running towards the garden and I couldn't help but breathe in relief when I heard his laughter.

He was alright. But anger immediately boiled in my body when I remembered the reason why all this happened in the first place was here in my house.

" Sam!” I called as I ran to my son and hugged him,

" You're okay, you're doing okay, let's go,” I said as I took his hand and he turned to look at his grandfather.

" Dad, I want to play with Grandpa a little," he said as I carried him.

“ Maybe some other time," I said and without sparing my dad a glance I walked into the house.

" Take care of him, make sure nobody takes him, if anything happens to him I'll hold you responsible,” I said as I handed him to the head security.

" Make sure nobody enters this house and nobody leaves, understood?” I asked,

" What about your father?” He asked,

" Nobody leaves,” I said before walking out of the house and quickly got into my car.

I connected my phone to the car as I called my private investigator.

“ I think I know who has Anna," I said,

“ Who?" he asked,

“ Mirabel, my ex-wife," I said before starting the car and driving out of the mansion.

I felt so drained and exhausted, it was a good thing I ate at the restaurant before I got kidnapped because I really don't know how I would have survived this.

I don't know how many days I've been tied up like this but what I do know is that it's been pretty long.

I haven't seen Derick either, not like I actually wanted to see him, I wish he and his partner would just rot in hell.

I groaned at the stiff pain in my neck. I've been on this chair for so long and my entire body was aching.

The door suddenly opened and someone walked in.

“ Did you miss me?" Derick.

I didn't have the energy in me to talk, so I just ignored him.

“ My partner is here to see you, I'm sure you're excited to meet her," he said with a laugh.

Psycho.

" You can come in now, she looks like she can't contain herself, she must be so happy to see you,” Derick said,

" You're right, she must be very delighted to see me, she has been a fan for a long time,” I'm not surprised at all.

I knew she was desperate and could do something like this.

She entered the room and turned on the lights and I closed my eyes as the light hurt my eyes badly. So there has been light here and this bastard left me in darkness.

“ Don't you look amazing?" she mocked as she looked at my weak state and that made me angry.

“ Don't you look like you can't keep a man," I fired back and anger crossed her eyes before she masked it and started laughing.

“ You think you can talk? Let's see how it goes when you hear what I have to say," she said as she walked to the chair in front of me and sat down.

“ What are you talking about?" I asked her and she made a sign like she was telling me to calm down.

“ Patience, have a little patience," she said,

“ I am the one who took your baby," she said and I blinked like I didn't quite get her.

“ I'm going to say that again, I am the one who took your baby or should I say paid someone to take your baby. You should clap for me, oh, my bad, your hands are tied,” she said with a laugh.

" It was you all along?" I said, too shocked to believe my ears.

" Yes, you got that right, your son has called me Mom for four years and I smile everyday thinking about it,” she said and she had the nerves to smile.

" Why? Why did you do that?” I asked as my heart clenched in pain.

" You, I did it because of you stupid bitch! He was married to me but you were all he thinks about. It doesn't matter that years went by, he'd use any opportunity to tell me how much he loves you and how he never wanted to marry me and that infuriated me. I got mad and furious. I had to look for a way to keep him and that was getting pregnant but I couldn't,” she said,

How…how did she know I was pregnant?

“ I know right? You're wondering how I know?" she said with a laugh.

“ Back then I was pregnant too, or that was what I made everyone believe. I was in Canada, never knew that was where you ran off to. As I was saying, I saw you but you didn't see me and that day I found my redemption. The plan was to fake being pregnant and then on the day of delivery pay for any random child, but when I saw you I changed my mind. I was worried Cole would do a DNA test so your baby was the answer to my prayer. I had someone watch you and then as soon as you gave birth boom! They took the child and that's that,” she said as she stood up and did a curtsey like she expected me to clap.

" You're an evil witch, you deserve to die, you stupid piece of shit!” I said in anger but she slapped me and my face turned to the side.

“ You're the one who is a witch! He should have loved me but because of you he never did and you know what's annoying, it's the fact that you had to come back here! I'm not going to allow you take him away from me, never!” she spat in anger.

" I thought you both were in love, at the penthouse, he chose you, then what are you talking about? What more do you want from me?!” I asked in anger, I was tired, I just wanted to see my son, I wanted to meet him.

" You think he chose me? You're so dumb. You didn't think that a man who would do anything for you would suddenly tell you he chose me? The same one who did all the drama that he won't marry me. It was all an act although I thought it was real until he kicked me out of the goddamn penthouse and since then he hadn't shown me any form of affection or love as his wife and he had the guts to serve me divorce papers. I can't allow it, I won't allow it,” she said with a shake of her head as she went back to the chair to sit down.

“ You have to die, you have to because that's the only way he'd forget you,” she said as my eyes went to what she was holding and I gasped.

No.
