Chapter 128- Between Life and Death
I can't die, not when I have a chance of seeing my son. Not now.
She stood up with the syringe in her hand as she flicked the tip and looked at me with a sinister smile.
“ I've been waiting for this part, she's going to know how it feels like to have needles constantly being pierced into you," Derick said, looking at me with excitement.
“ You see this little needle, I'm going to inject it into you nice and slow and you're going to die nice and slow, nobody will know it's me, and Cole will be mine and mine alone and as for your son, he's going to call me mom for the rest of his life," she said as she started walking towards me and I shook my head, struggling to be free.
“ If I were you, I'd keep calm or this might cut a vein and you'll just bleed to death, either way it works for me,” she said as she bent to my neck and I tried to move back but I couldn't.
“ Enjoy," she whispered before she stabbed the needle into my neck and I felt the substance swim inside my body and the effect was fast.
My body started burning like I was set ablaze.
“ No, no, Andrew, my baby," I whispered as I felt myself immediately start to lose touch of reality.
“ We should properly get going," I heard Derick whisper.
“ No, I need to watch her suffer,” Mirabel said.
I felt like my blood was boiling as I tried to find any form of relief, it didn't help that I was being tied while going through this. It was fucking painful.
“ Let's go, she's going to die anyways," I heard Mirabel say and that was my last touch with reality as the pain in my body increased and I started shaking violently.
*******
“ Going somewhere?" I blocked Mirabel just as she walked out of the building and the shock in her eyes showed that she didn't expect me here.
“ What are…” she stammered as she moved back.
“ Are you sure we shouldn't just burn…” the person stopped and to say I was shocked was an understatement, they were in this together. Psycho meets psycho.
" Where is she?” I asked,
" Dead,” Mirabel dared to say,
I didn't have time for this.
“ Take care of them," I said to the officers as I pushed past them and ran inside.
“ She's going to die before you get there!" Mirabel screamed but I didn't pay her any heed.
I heard a groan of pain coming from a room and I quickly ran to the door and pushed it open.
“ Anna! Anna!" I shouted in fear as I ran to her and started untying the robes. She was shaking so violently and it scared me.
“ Anna, what did they do to you?"
As soon as she was free from the robes I carried her as I ran outside.
“ You'll be fine, you'll be fine,"
“ Anna!" I heard someone call, as Liam, I guess that's his name, ran to me and wanted to take her but I moved away. Now was not the time.
I gently put Anna on the stretcher and she was taken into the ambulance. I got in after her as the Liam guy got in too.
“ I'll meet you at the hospital,” her assistant said before the door closed.
I was scared shitless, I couldn't lose her, not after finding out that our son has been with me all along.
I watched as the doctors in the ambulance started injecting things into her and I couldn't help but feel fear like never before.
We finally reached the hospital and we jumped down as she was quickly taken into the emergency room.
We had to wait outside.
My legs were shaking so I just sat down on the lobby chair as I prayed and waited.
I watched as doctors run in and out of her room and each time I'd stand up but they won't stop to tell us what's going on.
I was getting tired and frustrated.
Her assistant joined us and she kept crying worried for her boss.
“ This is all your fucking fault," the Liam guy turned to me in anger. He shouldn't dare me because I wasn't thinking straight right now.
“ Not now Liam's, please what we should be focusing on is that she recovers, none of your fighting and arguments can solve anything, so please,” her assistant begged as he turned away from me and continued pacing.
The hospital door opened again as the doctor walked to us and the look on his face wasn't pleasant at all.
Please God, please.
