Chapter 1 The Arriving Tour Group
My inn stood halfway up the mountain in an ancient village.
Not long ago, an internet celebrity had made the place popular.
A friend immediately introduced me to a tour group order.
I was hesitating.
The other side seemed afraid I would back out and paid the deposit directly via WeChat.
I was about to say something when they quickly replied: "Understood. We're old acquaintances. No children in the group this time."
I had no choice but to agree, take the deposit, and prepare all the rooms.
Soon it was the day the guests checked in.
Their group had just reached the village and climbed a stretch of mountain road before arriving at the inn.
One middle-aged man wiped his sweat and panted, "Why did you choose this mountain inn instead of the five-star hotel at the foot of the mountain?"
The girl beside him looked about twenty, with delicate makeup. She clung to the man and whined, "The photos here turn out so good!"
It was true.
My inn was a bit remote, but the view was excellent.
From the doorway, layered mountains stretched out, and the entire ancient village lay below.
At first everyone climbed with some complaints, but one look at the scenery made them feel it was worth it.
Guide Wang saw that everyone looked satisfied and smiled.
"Alright, everyone is tired. Take your room cards and go rest."
I handed out the room cards one by one.
When I reached a young woman, I was about to give her the card.
But I noticed she was holding a five- or six-year-old child.
My expression changed.
I turned to Guide Wang. "Didn't you say there were only ten people? Why is there one more?"
Guide Wang touched his nose awkwardly and gave a bitter smile. "The tourists added them last minute. Please make an exception and let the mother and son squeeze into one bed."
My face darkened.
"You know the rules here. I don't accept children. If that's the case, I can't take the entire group."
Guo Meiyue said unhappily, "What kind of business is this? I've already paid. Why won't you let us stay?!"
I stared at her. "I will refund the money."
Guo Meiyue sneered. "You just want to raise the price. Open your dog eyes and look. I have plenty of money!"
With that, she pulled a wad of RMB from her Chanel bag and threw it in my face.
I ignored her.
I looked at Guide Wang. "Either the mother and son leave, or everyone leaves. You choose."
Guo Meiyue exploded with anger.
She took out her phone. "I'm going to call 12315 to complain about you!"
But the signal here was bad and came and went.
Unfortunately, Guo Meiyue could not even make the call now.
Her face changed, and she cried with pear-like tears.
"You just think it's easy to bully a woman with a child, right? Do you know how hard it is for me to raise a child alone!"
The other tourists spoke up one after another.
"Have you decided yet? Can't we just stay first? I'm exhausted."
"It's just one extra child. Boss lady, you're being too stingy!"
"It's almost dark. You can't drive them down the mountain, right? They can stay until tomorrow."
But they did not know.
Precisely because it was almost dark, I had to drive them down the mountain.
Those things would come soon.
