Chapter 14 Mischa #5
Nothing I could say or do will dislodge her. The idea needles my heart.
“You should have let me leave when we were in Melbourne.”
“I know.”
We sit in silence. I know I look distraught because I fucking am. He looks concerned.
“What’s the big deal with Koalas anyway?”
“It’s a sad story,” Austen says. “We were trapped in a building...”
“You’re talking about that condemned building? William was there?”
“Yeah,” Austen nods. “He said if I didn’t die, you know, freeze to death or something...”
I frown. “Or something? Are you talking about when you were attacked? They are the same thing?”
“Yeah...” he sighs. “It’s always the same thing, Mischa.
I was injured bad. He... gave me his blood amongst other things.
He said when we got out he would take me somewhere warm.
Maybe Australia, and we could see some koalas.
He promised me a lot, you know, to hang on, and that was the one my mind clung to as I was fading away. ”
“Well, don’t I feel like an asshole...”
Austen laughs. “Yeah... the thing about it is, when he found me, he was walking into danger, and he got hurt protecting me.”
“The firefight. Will shot them?”
“I don’t know. You’d have to ask my brother, but I don’t recommend it.”
“How old were you?”
Austen grimaces. “Twelve? Actually I think about thirteen, almost, maybe.”
“How’d you get out?”
“Isobelle’s dad rescued us. It’s not like I really give a fuck about koalas in that childish way, but it’s this weird symbolic thing for us. We’ve kept our promises to each other. It’s finally over. We can finally put it to rest.”
“I’m sorry.”
“No,” he says. “You gave us more than you realize. I know he blagged that ticket off you and you seem a little jealous.”
“I’m just jealous of how much fun you had today.”
“Damn. That’s fucked-up.”
“I’m also annoyed William got to be affectionate to you and I didn’t.”
“That’s really fucked up.”
“Isabella and Sabrina are just the cherry on top.”
“Isobelle.”
“Whatever. Singing to her and shit. Fuck.”
“You didn’t like that huh?”
“It’ll sound really good, once you learn to play your instruments.”
Austen guffaws. “I guess you’re kind of a jealous guy.”
“I’m profoundly in love with you, and I’m certain you feel the same,” I say, staring him down. “Our rooms are close to each other. I can feel you through the wall, you know? Sense you. Feel your heartbeat. Your heart is not exactly beating slow when I’m around,” I shake my head.
Austen sighs. “Crush still crushing then?”
I smile a little, and rub his foot under the water. “Yeah, I guess I’ve fooled myself again. I gotta stop thinking this feeling will last forever. Or that I want it to. Eternal love is such a weird delusion. I must be near the end, almost. I hope so. Anyway, what are you doing tonight, baby?”
“It’s been a long day,” he says. “The girls are pretty jet-lagged. We are turning in early, but please don’t be sad.”
“You’re asking the impossible.”
“Thanks again,” he says.
The spa pool is very private. Austen looks around to check nobody can see us, and pecks me on the cheek.
I press my face into his lips, and hold his arms under the water.
He holds himself there, and I turn and put my lips to his, and steal a kiss.
He doesn’t stop me, it’s only the briefest of moments.
Then he stares at me, his eyelids low and entranced, and he blushes pink. My heart does a summersault.
“Don’t read into this,” he says, then steals another enthusiastic kiss.
That magnetism he described pulls us together, and it’s strong. We latch together hard. I hear fucking music in my head. He knows he has to stop but can’t break away from the embrace. He forces himself off and staggers.
“You know we’ll never be together, right?” Austen asks. “I told you how it has to be, how it is.”
Who’s he trying to fucking convince?
He turns to leave. I follow and wrap my arms around his waist, and kiss him on the back of his neck.
“Come up to my room.”
“Mmm, stop,” he says, “before he comes back.”
Then he’s gone. I can’t get out now; I have a raging boner.
I stay until everyone else has gone out, or gone to bed.
The spa pool can only be seen by a few patios, but they’re all empty.
Austen comes outside his room, right above me.
He can’t sleep. He’s watching me from his chair, drinking a bottle of something.
I get out of the spa and the hot water comes off me in steam.
I’m still a little hard. I lie down on the deck chair and look up at him.
He watches as I rub my groin and starts paying attention, and waits.
I am completely sheltered by the planters and umbrellas, so I pull my cock out.
He stares at me as the blood starts rushing to it, really gazing, as it gets bigger and harder.
Soon I’m fully erect. I start stroking it.
He looks around the courtyard and checks that all the windows are empty.
I get more brazen, take my swimming shorts off and set my legs apart.
I make long hard strokes and he leans over the edge to watch me.
It excites me and I pleasure myself faster.
He bites down on his bottom lip and chews it.
I want to tell him to keep doing that, I want to call him baby, I want to say his name, make him bite down on his lip so hard he has to moan.
Then I moan, and cum gushes from me. I see all the tension in his body leave him like it’s him who’s climaxing.
His mouth is wide now. I release one more load and he squirms desperately as I do.
He doesn’t know what to do. He considers finishing his drink but doesn’t. He sits and slumps in his chair like the wind is knocked out of him. He wipes his hand down his face and neck, then goes back into his room with his stupid girlfriend.
I have to.
I have to have him.
Then maybe I can walk away from this obsession.
I have to fuck that guy.
I wipe myself down with the towel and put my shorts back on. The door inside creaks and I rush out, hoping for Austen, only to startle Maxim.
“Jesus!” he jumps.
“Shit. Sorry bro.”
“Hurry,” he says, in Russian. “You need to get clothes on before we go.”
“Go where?”
“To do our duty...” he coaxes me, his eyebrows go right up, staring me down, “to our family...” I know what he’s getting at but I am still not caught up, “the whole reason why we are here...”
“The reason why we’re here?” I try to remember. “I promised to do some things...”
“And I’ve been doing it all for you, asshole. I can’t go alone tonight. I’m going out to the middle of nowhere by myself. I can fill you in along the way.”
“Yeah,” I nod. “I’ll be ready in five.”
