Chapter 13 Three-Legged Race
Sheng Yichuan stood at the starting line and waved at me. “Happy cooperation.”
I asked, “Why are you here?”
“I only came to watch at first. Didn’t expect to get so lucky that your partner couldn’t make it.”
“But you’re not even in our department.”
“Doesn’t matter,” Sheng Yichuan said carelessly. “I can represent whichever department I want.”
True enough.
His family had donated a building.
I tried a different approach.
“I thought I made myself very clear last time. I like your brother’s type.”
“So what?”
Sheng Yichuan kept his posture relaxed, voice even.
“Since I was little, every girl has said they like my brother’s type. I’ve heard it so many times I’m sick of it.”
“…”
No wonder.
When I said that last time, he hadn’t gotten angry at all.
“Of course, I won’t force you to race with me.”
Sheng Yichuan added kindly,
“You can forfeit.”
“No. I want to compete.” I stretched my leg out. “Tie it.”
Sheng Yichuan happily bent down.
Even without looking up, I could feel Sheng Yan’s gaze fixed on me the entire time, as if trying to burn a hole through me.
The three-legged race was an intimate event.
It was perfect for provoking Sheng Yan.
The whistle blew. Sheng Yichuan hooked his arm around my shoulder.
Near the finish line, I tripped.
Sheng Yichuan reacted quickly and cushioned me with his own body.
In the end, I was completely fine.
Sheng Yichuan, however, grimaced in pain for a long time.
“Chen Songhe,” he said somewhat pitifully, “I’m actually really good to you too. Can we not cancel the Marriage Agreement?”
