Chapter 14 Jealousy in the Car

After the sports meet ended, I left through the school’s back gate.

Sheng Yan’s car was parked in a deserted spot.

He was silent, the air pressure low.

I deliberately said, “Good thing Sheng Yichuan was there today, or I would have fallen hard.”

“You didn’t tell me your partner was him.”

“Oh, he filled in at the last minute. My original partner got sick.”

“Why not forfeit?”

“Because I wanted to participate.”

I said firmly, “No one can stop me from doing what I want.”

Sheng Yan paused, his presence softening.

“I’m not trying to stop you… It’s just, Sheng Yichuan he…”

“He likes me, right?”

“You already knew.”

“Yes. He even begged me not to call off the Marriage Agreement today.”

Sheng Yan’s face stiffened.

“What about you? What do you think?”

The atmosphere grew heavier.

I burst out laughing.

“Don’t worry. I’m definitely calling off the Marriage Agreement with him.”

I leaned closer and whispered in his ear,

“Because I like you more.”

Sheng Yan’s expression relaxed.

He grabbed the back of my head and kissed me roughly.

The car was sealed tight.

Moist air slowly thickened.

I moved from the passenger seat onto Sheng Yan’s lap.

His gunmetal-gray suit grew damp in patches.

When our breathing steadied,

Sheng Yan still lingered, kissing my earlobe.

“Sheng Yan,” I said suddenly, “there’s something I don’t understand.”

“Tell me.”

“Were you jealous just now?”

I ran my fingers through his short hair and sighed.

“But we’re not in a relationship where jealousy is allowed.”

If Sheng Yan lifted his head now,

he would see the calm in my eyes.

Only ten days remained until the election ended.
