Chapter 8 Su Qi Strikes Back

But Su Qi was still Su Qi after all.

Old ginger is still the spiciest.

Unlike my nervousness and awkwardness, Su Qi only panicked for three seconds before snapping back.

“What’s there to panic about?” He patted me. “Watch me.”

He struck first, looking up at Gu Shang arrogantly. “Ohhh, isn’t this the super busy guy who’s about to get engaged?”

Gu Shang’s expression flickered between dark and darker, but Su Qi remained calm. “What are you doing here? Go get engaged! Why are you following me!”

Gu Shang’s voice was low. “Su Qi.”

“What!” Su Qi glared back. “What’s with that attitude? You still dare raise your voice at me? If you’re not sure then hurry up and leave! I don’t want to see you right now!”

After scolding Gu Shang, Su Qi secretly shot me a look: See that?

Then he stormed off, muttering curses, and threw one last line over his shoulder at Gu Shang: “Don’t you dare follow me! Whoever follows me is a little dog!”

One minute after Su Qi left, Gu Shang silently stood up, face cold, and walked out the door.

I watched them both leave in stunned silence, mentally clapping inside.

I could never learn to be that bold in this lifetime.

Those kinds of ruthless lines—I could never say them to Chi Wen.

I slowly turned around and met Chi Wen’s eyes. He was still sitting on the sofa.

Chi Wen patted the empty spot beside him.

I obeyed instantly, walked over, and sat down next to him.

I asked, “How did you come here?”

Chi Wen spread his hands. “I got inexplicably blocked. Of course I had to chase after you and find out why.”

I: “Huh?”

Chi Wen took out his phone, opened our chat, and showed me several messages he’d sent—all followed by red exclamation marks.

Below them were the small words: 【Message sent, but rejected by the recipient.】

I stared blankly for a few seconds, then hurriedly pulled out my own phone and opened his profile.

I hadn’t noticed before, but at the very bottom was a line: 【Added to blacklist. You will no longer receive messages from this contact.】

After several minutes of stunned silence, I remembered.

Before the trip, Su Qi had borrowed my phone, saying he couldn’t find his, and used mine to make a call.

It must have been him!

“I didn’t know…” I rushed to explain to Chi Wen. “It was my brother…”

“I figured.” Chi Wen nodded like he already knew, then continued.

“So… do you know about you and your brother doing the Incest Joke thing?”

I: “?”

What the hell is he even talking about?

Chi Wen found Su Qi’s profile, opened his Moments, and scrolled to a post from a few days ago.

It was posted right before we boarded the plane to come here.

Su Qi: 【My sister and I went off to do the Incest Joke. Bye bye to you two!】

I: “…”

I: “…………”
