Chapter 9 Showing You My Photos

When Su Qi came back, I was showing Chi Wen my photo album, introducing him to all the different sea creatures I'd captured these past few days.

It started because Chi Wen said he wanted to see my album and what beautiful scenery I'd photographed.

He asked politely, "May I? It won't be inconvenient?"

"No, not at all," I answered.

There wasn't anything special in the album anyway—Chi Wen's photos had long been hidden in my private folder.

I was worried he'd get bored, so I kept sneaking glances at him while explaining. But Chi Wen looked very seriously.

The photos weren't many. We finished quickly.

Chi Wen seemed satisfied. He reached over and patted my head. "Very good. You weren't corrupted by Su Qi."

It took me a second to react. Then I remembered Su Qi's album was full of handsome guys.

Speak of the devil.

The moment Su Qi returned, he saw Chi Wen patting my head.

"What are you two doing!" Su Qi roared out of nowhere. He rushed over, yanked me off the sofa to the side, and looked at me like I was hopeless. "You just forgave him like that? You're letting this guy off way too easily!"

I blinked slowly. "But… I never blamed him in the first place…"

Su Qi: "..."

Because all this time I'd been the one-sided one liking Chi Wen.

Su Qi wore the classic "your brain is completely in love" expression. "But he got engaged!"

I said, "He explained it. It was a misunderstanding."

I'd finally gathered every ounce of courage earlier and asked Chi Wen about the engagement.

"Engagement?" Chi Wen thought for a moment before it clicked. "Oh, I see. It must have been my mom joking with her friends at a banquet about arranging one for me. She mentioned it when she got back, but I refused. Somehow the rumor spread and turned into me actually getting engaged."

I never expected something that had tormented me for so long to be this simple. "Ah…"

"So that's why you ran off with your brother?" Chi Wen looked both amused and helpless. "Next time, come ask me first, okay?"

I nodded.

Then another thought hit me. If Chi Wen's engagement was fake, maybe Gu Shang's was a rumor too?

But Chi Wen said, "Gu Shang's is real. Pure business marriage, zero feelings. They've only met a few times. They agreed to live their own lives and not interfere."

I didn't know what to say. I just sighed.

After hearing Chi Wen's engagement was fake, Su Qi asked the same question I had. "Then Gu Shang…"

I answered immediately, "It's real."

The faint hope that had appeared on his face instantly collapsed. "I knew it. Heh, that bastard!"

I glanced around him but didn't see Gu Shang. "Where's Gu Shang?"

"I cursed him out until he ran off!" Su Qi gritted his teeth. He shot a look at Chi Wen, then at me, and got even angrier. "Can't you learn from me? You can't spoil men like this, you know!"

"You dare lecture me?" I shot back. "Who deleted my contact? Who posted on Moments that we're doing an Incest Joke? I'm telling Mom and Dad."

The arrogant Su Qi just now dropped to his knees with a thud. "I was wrong, sis! My cutest little sister ever! Please don't tell Mom and Dad! That post was only visible to Chi Wen and Gu Shang—I was scared someone else would see it and tell them!"

"If they find out, they'll beat me half to death, boy and girl tag-team style!"

"Then I'd really need to see a bone doctor!"

Me: "..."
