Next morning

The doctor came to check up on Shivansh.

Rajveer,"Doctor, Bhai thik hai?"

Doctor,"Thik hai woh. Stable hai. Hosh aane ki der hai."

Rajveer nodded and Doctor left.

Soon Aarav came with Ruhanika's clothes and breakfast and Rajveer went home.

Aarav,"Bhabhi, aap fresh ho jaiye phir nashta kar lijiye."

Ruhanika nodded and went to freshen up in the washroom present in the room Shivansh was in.

After that Ruhanika came and sat besides Shivansh and held his hand.

Aarav,"Bhabhi, nashta kar lijiye. Dekhiye Pari Bhabhi ne Pohe bheje hai."

Ruhanika did not say anything and went to the couch.

Aarav served her a plate of Poha and some juice.

The day passed by in the blur with Ruhanika waiting for Shivansh to wake up.

In the evening, when Ruhanika was alone in the room, she sat on the bed and took Shivansh's hand and placed it on her abdomen.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, hum dono aapka intezaar kar rahe hai. Jaldi se uth jaiye na, do din hone ko aaye hai."

Ruhanika got no response.

Next day.

No change at all.

Ruhanika's POV

It was so hard for me to see my strong Shiv laying there motionless on the bed attached to wires. The person who was my strength, my support was in need of my strength today. But how do I give that strength to him when he is the only souce of strength in my life.

Hey Mahadev, aapne humesha mere liye achha hi socha hai, aaj bhi achha hi sochenge lekin thoda jaldi kijiye. Shiv ko mere pass bhej dijiye please.

Shiv, main aapki hasi, aapki baatein, aapka pyaar, aapki kisses sab bohot miss kar rahi hu.

Kaha main aapko good news dene wali thi ki hum mummy-papa banne wale hai aur kaha yeh sab ho gaya.

End of Ruhanika's POV

In the evening of 3rd day of accident.

The room was quite. Ruhanika was sitting on the couch laying down, trying to rest as instructed by Aarav who was sitting besides Shivansh.

Ruhanika who was staring at Shivansh, laying on the couch caught the flutter ofhis eyelids. She hurridly got up from the couch and came besides him.

Aarav,"Bhabhi, kya hua?"

Ruhanika,"Aarav, Shiv ki palke hili thi abhi."

As Ruhanika said this, Shivansh's eyes fluttered open but he quickly shut them due to lights. After a couple of minutes, he opened his eyes.

Aarav dashed out to call the doctor and call the family.

Before Shivansh or Ruhanika could actually see each other, the doctor rushed in.

Ruhanika went to the couch and was waiting for doctors to complete the checkup. Aarav went to call Rajveer that Shivansh had gained consciousness.

Doctor checked Shivansh and found his left hand paralyzed.

Doctor,"Mr. Shivansh kya aap bilkul movement nahi kar pa rahe."

Shivansh shook his head.

Doctor,"Kya aap haath feel kar sakte hai?"

Shivansh nodded.

Then doctor pinched him on the hand and asked,"Kya yeh feel hua?"

Shivansh again nodded.

Doctor,"Aapka left hand paralyze ho gaya hai Mr. Shivansh."

Shivansh's eyes roamed around the room and stopped at Ruhanika who was staring at him.

Doctor,"Mrs. Ruhanika, iska karan unke haath mein lage woh kaach k tukde hai. Nerve damage hui thi jo humnein repair karne ki koshish ki thi. Lekin nerve recovery k baad physio karvane se shayad haath ka paralysis khul sakta hai."

Aarav,"Shayad matlab doctor?"

Doctor,"75% cases mein recovery aa jaati hai but kabhi kabhi woh damage repair nahi ho pata. 1 mahine k baad inhe physio start karva na hoga."

Aarav nodded at doctor and he left.

Aarav turned to Shivansh and spoke,"Bhai aap bilkul chinta mat kijiye. Aapka haath jaldi thik ho jaayega."

Shivansh nodded looking at him. After that, Aarav left, giving Shivansh and Ruhanika privacy.

Ruhanika,"Shiv.....!" She went near him and spoke further,"Aap thik hai? Aapko pata hain, main kitni gabhra gai thi." Tears started flowing freely from her eyes.

Shivansh,"Ruhh, dekho rote nahi hai. Main thik ho jaunga."

Ruhanika,"Haa, aap bilkul thik ho jayenge. Aapka haath bhi thik ho jaayega Shiv, mujhe Mahadev pe pura bharosa hai."

Shivansh nodded and stretched out his right hand to her and took her in a hug. He kissed her forehead. Ruhanika savoured the moment with closed eyes and slowely opened them and kissed him all over the face.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, mujhe aapko kuch batana hai.!!"

Shivansh,"Bolo Ruhh?"

Ruhanika,"Shiv, aap Papa banne wale hai."

Before Shivansh could react further, the door to his room burst open and Rajveer, Aarohi, Aarav and Parinidhi entered inside with balloons amd flowers.

Rajveer, Parinidhi, Aarav and Aarohi,"Congratulations Bhai...!!!!"

Shivansh looked at them and then turned to Ruhanika, who smiled at him and blinked her eyes.

Shivansh's POV

Main Papa banne wala hu. Ruhh Mumma banne wali hai.

Par.... Mera bedrest, jis time mujhe Ruhh ka dhyaan rakhna chahiye us time main uska dhyaan nahi rakh paunga aur upar se use mera dhyaan rakhna padega. Sach mein burden hu ab main Ruhh pe.

Pregnancy ki news milne se use khush hona chahiye the lekin us time woh mere liye roti rahi.

Shayad sach hi hai, main sirf khushiyan kharab karne k hi kabil hu. Main khusiyan deserve nahi karta.

Author's POV

While thinking this, a tear slipped his eye, which Ruhanika wiped.

Ruhanika,"Kya hua Shiv?"

Shivansh,"Maaf kardo Ruhh."

Ruhanika,"Kis baat k liye Shiv?"

Shivansh,"Maine tumhe pregnancy ki news bhi puri khushi se celebrate nahi karne di. Jaha mujhe tumhare saath hona chahiye tha pregnancy news milte time tab main hospital mein tha aur tum khush bhi nahi ho saki aur mere liye ro rahi thi. Jaha mujhe pregnancy mein tumhara khayal rakhna chahiye, main ab is paralysed hath k saath tum pe bojh ban gaya hu."

Ruhanika quickly pulled Shivansh in a hug, her hands found their way to his hair and his right hand went around her waist. Everyone else had left the room to give them space.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, aisa mat kahiye. Aap jaldi hi thik ho jaayenge. Aur aap bojh nahi hai, toh agar wapis aapne apne baare mein aisa kaha toh main naraz ho jaaungi, aur humne Pari k saath dekha hi hai ki pregnant ladki ko manana bohot mushkil hota hai."

When Shivansh did not respond, sge held his face in her hands and asked,"Kya aapki jagah main hoti aur yeh kehti toh?"

When Shivansh still did not reply, she spoke,"Thik hai. Aapko jitna waqt chahiye aap le lijiye, main yahi hu aapke pass."

After 5 days.

Today Shivansh is getting discharge. The doctors have told a bedrest for 1 month starting from discharge after which physio can be started.

In this 5 days, Ruhanika was there for Shivansh all the time but Shivansh is still in his guilt. Ruhanika has given him time but now it has started to affect her that Shivansh is indifferent towards her.

Rajveer and Aarav came to pick up Shivansh and Ruhanika. Both of them helped Shivansh walk to the car and helped him settle in the backseat. Ruhanika sat beside him. Aarav started driving the car.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, aap comfortable toh haina?" Only to get a nod in return.

They soon reached Rajvansh Mansion.

Aarav and Rajveer helped him into the mansion and made him sit on the sofa. A staff brought out water for them. As all the youngsters were talking, Mrs. Rajvansh came to the living room and settled on one of the sofa.

Mrs. Rajvansh,"Kaise ho tum ab?"

Rajveer,"Maa please aaj nahi. Bhai thik nahi hai."

Before Mrs. Rajvansh could reply, Shivansh spoke,"Main thik hu."

Mrs. Rajvansh nodded at him and turned to Rajveer and spoke,"Raj, aaj k baad main chah k bhi Sh-Shivansh se nafrat nahi kar sakti. Anjaane mein hi sahi lekin iski wajah se tumhari jaan bachi hai. Thank you Shivansh." She spoke the last lines to Shivansh.

Shivansh nodded looking at her.

Then Mrs. Rajvansh turned her attention towards Shivansh and Ruhanika and spoke,"Maine aaj tak jo kiya uski safai nahi dungi, lekin aaj k baad woh nahi hoga. Tumhari wajah se aaj mera bachha sahi salamat hai."

Ruhanika and Shivansh, both nodded at her.

Then, ease up the mood, Aarohi spoke up,"Toh jaise ki ab Ansh bhaiya bilkul thik hai, aur humare ghar mein do-do babies bhi aane wale hai toh ek party toh banti hai guys."

Mrs. Rajvansh,"Ruhanika tum pregnant ho?"

Ruhanika,"Ji."

Mrs. Rajvansh,"Congratulations, dono ko."

Ruhanika,"Thank you Aunty."

Aarav,"Ha toh party ka kya plan hai Bhaiyas?"

Before anyone could speak up, Shivansh spoke,"Main room mein ja raha hu."

With that, he stood up with his crutch followed by Ruhanika supporting him.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, aapko dard ho raha hai kya?"

Shivansh,"Nahi main thik hu. Tum baitho niche sabke saath, main chala jaunga."

Ruhanika,"Kaisi baatein kar rahe hai Shiv. Ho kya gaya hai aapko?"

Shivansh did not reply to her and kept going towards his room.

At 8 pm.

Shivansh had dosed off due to being tired of car journey and he needed rest for recovery.

Ruhanika shook him to wake him up for dinner.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, uthiye. Dinner karna hai aapko."

After a couple of minutes, he woke up groggily.

Ruhanika,"Chaliye pehle fresh ho jaate hain, phir main dinner le aati hu."

Ruhanika helped him get up from the bed and took him to the washroom. She helped him freshen up, washed his face.

Then, Ruhanika made Shivansh sit comfortably on the bed with the support of pillow and went to bring food.

When she was going downstairs, Shivansh called out and spoke,"Kisi staff se keh do woh le aayega."

Ruhanika did not say anything and went downstairs.

Ruhanika,'Ho kya gaya hai aapko? Main aur nahi seh paungi aapka yeh behaviour Shiv. Aap toh jaise mujhse bohot dur chale gaye hai. Ab aapke accident k time hi humari pregnancy ka pata chala usmein meri kya galati hai. Saath rehne ki bajay aap toh dur jaa rahe hai aur mujhe bhi khud se dur kar rahe hai.'

She came downstairs in the kitchen. Seeing her, Parinidhi who was sitting on the sofa came there.

Parinidhi,"Bhabhi? Yeh?" She wiped a drop of tear that slipped from Ruhanika's eye.

Parinidhi,"Kya baat hai Bhabhi? Bhai toh ab thik hai toh? Kuch baat hui hai kya aapke beech?"

Ruhanika,"Nahi toh Pari. Sab thik hai. Aur tumne khana khaya?"

Parinidhi did not push as she knew if it was meant Ruhanika would have told her.

Parinidhi,"Ji Bhabhi, sabne kha liya hai."

Ruhanika nodded and served a plate for both her and Shivansh.

In the room.

Ruhanika sat beside Shivansh and brought a bite to his lips.

Shivansh,"Mujhe nahi khana, tum kha lo."

Ruhanika,"Aapko dawai bhi leni hai. Please kha lijiye Shiv thoda sa."

Shivansh did not say anything just ate the bite held in Ruhanika's hands.

Soon Ruhanika finished feeding both of them. She gave a glass of water to Shivansh with his medicines.

Then, Ruhanika got up from the bed with their plate. She went to keep the plate in the kitchen.

After returning in the room, Ruhanika saw Shivansh busy in his phone.

Ruhanika,"Shiv, aapko kuch chahiye."

Shivansh,"Nahi."

Ruhanika,"Aap, aap abhi kya karenge?"

Shivansh,"Kuch nahi. Tumhe kuch kaam hai?"

Ruhanika shook her head and went to her side of bed and started reading a book.

Shivansh saw her getting affected with his indifferent behaviour but he was too drowned in his own guilt to mend things at the moment. He laid down on his side of bed and soon sleep engulfed him due to medicines.

Ruhanika also slept soon as she was also tired from the whole day.
