Two Months later.
Parinidhi is in her last month of pregnancy. Her god bharai (baby shower) took place 2 weeks back.
Shivansh is now completely fine except his paralysis. The physiotherapy is going on but still Shivansh cannot move his hand on its own.
Ruhanika is in her 4th month now. Shivansh has started taking care of cafe and his business, giving Ruhanika maximum care and rest. Ruhanika still goes to her cafe daily, but with utter care.
Evening.
Ruhanika was in her room after returning from the cafe. After taking a rest and freshening up, she was standing in front of the mirror.
A small, very delicate, unnoticeable baby bump was visible. She had kept her hands on the baby bump and was talking to the baby.
Ruhanika,"Hi Babu. Aapko pata hai, aapki Pari chachi bohot jaldi mumma banne wali hai. Ha, aapka bada bhai ya behen aane wala hai. Aap kab aaoge? Aapko pata hai, Mumma aapka bohot intezaar kar rahi hai. Aur Papa bhi. Papa toh abhi office gaye hai Babu. Aate hi honge woh bhi. Phir hum khana khayenge. Aur uske baad Mumma aaj cafe se desserts layi hai, sab saath baith k khayenge."
(Hi babu, you know, your Pari aunty is going to be mumma real soon. Yeah, your elder brother or sister is coming soon. When will you come? You know, mumma is waiting for you. And Papa also. Papa has gone to office Babu. He will be here soon. Then we will have dinner. Then mumma has brought desserts from the cafe, we all will have that together.)
Ruhanika was talking to the baby, when Shivansh entered the room carefully, not wanting to make a sound thinking Ruhanika might be sleeping or resting.
But the scene in front of him made Shivansh's heart flutter, Ruhanika talking to their baby in her stomach still gives goosebumps to Shivansh.
Shivansh went towards her and backhugged her and put his chin on her shoulder.
Shivansh,"Kya baatein chal rahi hai Mumma Baby mein?"
(What are mumma and baby talking about?)
Ruhanika sighed dramatically and spoke,"Main bus apne babu ko bata rahi thi ki uske Papa uski Mumma ko pyaar nai karte."
(I was just telling my babu that their Papa doesn't love their mumma.)
Shivansh made a thinking face and spoke,"Achha, par maine toh darwaze pe khade hoke kuch aur hi suna tha?"
(Really, But I heard something else while standing at the gate.)
Ruhanika quickly turned around in his arms and spoke,"Hawww, aapko sharam nahi aati apni Wife aur Babu ki baatein sunte hue."
(Hawww, you are listening to your wufe and baby talking. Aren't you ashamed?)
Shivansh,"Ek toh pehli baat, yeh mere bachhe ko Babu kehna band karo aur dusri baat, nahi aati sharam. Biwi bhi meri hai aur bachha bhi mera hi hai isiliye."
(Firstly, stop calling my baby babu. Amd secondly, I am not embarrased. Wife and baby, both are mine.)
Ruhanika,"Main toh Babu hi bulaungi. Aapko jo karna hai kar lijiye."
(I will call baby Babu only. Do whatever you want to do.)
Shivansh,"Kya yaar Ruhh. Kitna ajeeb lagta hai babu kehna. Kuch achha sa cute sa naam rakhte hai na."
(Ruhh! It is such a wierd name. Think of a cute name na.)
Ruhanika looked at him, passed a glare and came out of his arms.
Ruhanika,"Ab toh meri baatein ajeeb lagne lagi hai aapko. Mujhe baat hi nahi karni aapse. Jaiye yaha se."
(Now you find my talks weird. I don't want to talk to you. Go away.)
Shivansh,"Arey Ruhh suno toh.."
(But Ruhh, listen to...)
Ruhanika,"Main hi chali jaati hu yaha se. Baat hi karna behaar hai aapse. Ajeeb ho gai hu na ab toh."
(I don't want to stay here. Talking to you is useless. I am weird now.)
With that, Ruhanika left the room and went to the living room.
Shivansh,'Uff, Ruhh k mood swings.'
(Ruhh's mood swings.)
Shivansh quickly ran behind her and held her wrist but Ruhanika jerked it off and went away, followed by Shivansh.
In the living room, the whole family was seated. Ruhanika went and sat besides Aarav.
Shivansh came and saw the situation, but the attention of family didn't matter as his Ruhh was upset and he had to soothe her.
Shivansh started going towards Ruhanika's side which she noticed.
Ruhanika,"Aarav, tumhare bhaiya mere aas pass nahi aane chahiye. Yeh tumhari responsibility hai. Warna main tumse bhi baat karna chhod dungi."
(Aarav, your brother should not come near me. Its your responsibility. Otherwise, I won't talk to you.)
Aarav, ever the dramatic one, bowed down in front of her as a knight and spoke,"Bhabhi Maa ka hukum, sar aakhon par. Yes captian."
(Your order is utmost. Yes captain.)
Aarav stood up in front of Ruhanika, turned to Shivansh and spoke,"Bhai, aap Bhabhi k pass nahi ja sakte."
(Brother, you cannot go near sister-in-law.)
Shivansh,"Aaravvv...." And Aarav recieved a terrifying glare.
Aarav,"Bh-Bhabhi, Bhai, d-dara rahe hai."
(Sister-in-law, brother is scaring me.)
Ruhanika,"Sharam nahi aati, apne chote bhai aur mere devar ko darate hue. Kyun hi aayegi ab kisi bhi baat ki sharam. Biwi ajeeb lagti hai, khud ki naak pe gussa baitha hai woh nahi dikhta."
(Don't you have any shame. You are scolding your brother and my brother in law. Why would you feel ashamed? Wife is weird. You yourself are always angry, why would you see that.)
Shivansh,'Meri Ruhh pregnancy mein puri pagal ho gai hai.'
(Ruhh has gone crazy in pregnancy.)
Parinidhi,"Bhabhi, par hua kya hai?"
(Sister-in-law, but what happened.)
Shivansh shut his eyes tightly, already regretting Parinidhi asking the question.
Ruhanika,"Pari, inhone mujhe ajeeb bola."
(Pari, he called me weird.)
Parinidhi and Aarohi, not the ones to be left out of teasing spoke,"Hawww, Bhai. So mean. Aap humari cute si Bhabhi ko ajeeb kaise keh sakte hai."
(Haww, brother. So mean. How can you call our cute sister-in-law weird.)
With that, Aarohi stood up and went besides Ruhanika and faked giving her sympathy.
Aarohi,"Its OK Bhabhi. Humein aap abhi bhi utne hi cute aur pyaare lagte ho. We still love you Bhabhi."
(Its ok sister-in-law. We still find you cute and lovely. We still love you.)
Ruhanika,"Sirf tum log hi mujhse pyaar karte ho."
(Only you guys love me.)
Shivansh once again tried coming near her and spoke,"Ruhh, baba suno toh meri baat. Mere kehne ka woh matlab nahi tha...."
(Ruhh, baba, listen to me. I did not mean that..)
Aarav, his Bhabhi's obedient lovely dever , spoke up in between.
Aarav,"Aa aa bhai. Dur rahiye aap."
(Aa aa brother. Stay away.)
Shivansh,"Aarav agar pitna nahi hai toh hatt ja."
(Aarav, if you don't want to get beaten, then move away.)
Rajveer, his brother's only supporter, spoke,"Aarav. Rehne de varna aaj Bhai k haatho pit jaayega aur main bhi haath saaf kar lunga."
(Aarav, stay away if you don't want to get beaten up by brother. I will also help brother in beating you)
Aarav,"Kya hai aapko Raj bhai. Khud toh Bhabhi ka saath nahi de rahe ho aur mujhe bhi mana kar rahe ho."
(What is it with you Raj brother. You are not taking sister-in-law's side and are refusing me too.)
Shivansh,"Ruhh dekho tum meri baat samjho. Main tumhe ajeeb nahi keh raha tha. Maine bas woh naam ajeeb kaha tha baby."
(Ruhh, try to understand me. I was not calling you weird. I was saying that name is weird.)
Ruhanika, who was on the verge of crying, let her tears free.
And with those tears falling freely from her eyes spoke,"Aap mere baby ka naam ajeeb keh rahe hai. Aap ab mujhse pyaar hi nahi karte ab. Aapko main ab pasand hi nahi hu."
(You are calling my baby's name weird. You don't even love me. You don't even like me now.)
Shivansh, not able to see the tears falling off his wife's eyes, pushed pass Aarav and went near his wife.
Shivansh,"Ruhh, meri jaan. Please rona band karo. Dekho main tumhe aise rote hue nahi dekh sakta. Meri pyaari Ruhh hona tum, dekho rona band kardo. Mujhe dard hota hai Ruhh, mat ro."
(Ruhh, my love. Please stop crying. I can't see you crying. You are my lovely Ruhh na, stop crying. I cannot bear it Ruhh.)
Ruhanika,"Toh aap mujhe baby ko babu keh k bulane denge? Please."
(Will you let me call the baby Babu?)
Shivansh,"Thik hai Ruhh. Bula lena baby ko babu, but ab rona band karo. Mere dil mein dard ho raha hai."
(Okay Ruhh. Call the baby Babu but please stop crying. My heart can't bear it.)
Ruhanika nodded and stopped crying and snuggled her face in Shivansh's chest. Shivansh wiped her tears with his hand and kissed her forehead.
Just then, they heard a click sound.
Aarohi, admiring the picture she just clicked spoke,"Hayeee....mujhe bhi pyaar karna hai. Mummaaaa, meri bhi shaadi kara do.."
(Ohhhh....I also want to fall in love. Mummaaaa, get me married as well.)
Surya, her father spoke,"Kya jaldi hai beta. Humare pass hi reh tu."
(What's the rush dear. Stay with us.)
Aarav,"Arey Papa, jaane do na shaadi kara k. Humne itne saal jhela hai ab iska pati dhundho aur bhejo ise."
(Oh Dad, let her get married. We have tolerated her for so many years, let her husband handle her.
Surekha,"Teri shaadi pehle hogi beta baad mein Aaru ki. Kara du teri shaadi?"
(You will get married before her son. Shall I get you married?)
Everyone knew that, Aarav was not interested in getting married.
Aarav,"Arey, koi baat nahi. Padi hui hai ghar mein, pade rehne do. Mujhe bilkul nahi nad rahi. Reh ha meri behen, tu yahi reh ghar mein hi reh."
(Its ok. Let her be in the house. I don' t have any problem. Stay here only ha sister. Stay in this house only.)
Everyone laughed out loud.
Mrs. Rajvansh,"Chalo sab khana kha lete hai."
(Lets have dinner everyone.)
Everyone sat at their places on the dining table.
Seeing the variety of dishes placed in front of her, Ruhanika made a thinking face.
Shivansh,"Ruhh, kya khaogi? Bolo kya rakhu plate mein?"
(Ruhh, what will you have? What should I serve you?)
Ruhanika,"Shiv, mujhe bas chawal aur achar hi dijiye. Woh khatti aam ka achar."
(Shiv, I only want to eat Rice, lentils and pickles. That sour mango pickle.)
Shivansh,"Ruhh, woh achar toh teekhe k saath saath khatta bhi bohot hai. Kha logi?"
(Ruhh, that pickle is spicy and sour. Will you be able to eat it?)
Ruhanika nodded her head and Shivansh served in her plate.
Parinidhi,"Bhai, mujhe bhi chahiye. Pass kijiye na."
(Brother, I also want it. Please pass it.)
Shivansh nodded and passed the bottle.
Shivansh smiled watching Ruhanika eat rice with achar.
Shivansh,'Meri Ruhh. Pregnancy mein kitni change ho gayi hai. Kabhi bhi rona kabhi bhi gussa. Jo cheeze nahi pasand thi woh sab khane lagi hai. Aaj tak, pure 2 saal mein kabhi achaar nahi khaya, aur aaj dekho. Mahadev, Ruhh bohot manti hai aapko, uska dhyaan rakhna aur uski saari ichha puri karna.'
(My Ruhh. She has changed a lot in the pregnancy. Sonetime crying and suddenly angry. She has started eating things she did not like. She has not eaten pickle in whole 2 years of us being together. God, Ruhh believes a lot in you. Please take care of her and fulfil all her wishes.)
1 month later.
Ruhanika,"Shiv, konsi dress pehnu?"
(Shiv, which dress should I wear?)
Shivansh,"Ruhh, saari pehenne wali thi na tum?"
(Ruhh, you were going to wear a saree no?)
Ruhanika,"Nahi Shiv, phir usmein tummy dikhta hai. Nazar lagti hai."
(No Shiv, then my tummy will be visible. Evil eye can be seen.)
Shivansh nodded,"Yeh sea green wala pehen lo."
(Wear this sea green one.)
Ruhanika nodded and went to get ready.
After getting ready, both of them came downstairs.
Ruhanika went towards the sofa where Aarohi and Aarav were sitting with a baby.
Aarohi,"Bhabhi aap bohot sundar lag rahe ho."
(sister-in-law, you are looking very pretty.)
Ruhanika,"Thank you Aaru. Lekin pata hai, tum bohot zyada pyaari lag rahi ho."
(Thank you Aaru. But you know, you are looking very lovely.)
Aarohi ,"Aww bhabhi thanku."
Aarav,"Bhabhi, mujhe bhi dekh lijiye."
(sister-in-law, how am I looking?)
Ruhanika,"Tum bhi bohot handsome lag rahe ho Aarav."
(You are also looking very handsome Aarav.)
Aarav ran a hand through his hair and winked at Ruhanika.
Just then Aarav and Aarohi were called for some work so they gave the baby to Ruhanika and left.
Ruhanika kissed the baby's cheek and started talking to baby. Shivansh came and sat beside her.
Ruhanika,"Hi Laddu. Aaj mere Kishan Kanaiya ko uska naam milega. Par chachi ka toh tu laddo hi rahega."
(Hi Laddu. Today my baby will get his name. But aunty will call you sweety only.)
(Laddu is an Indian sweet dish. Many times used to address babies with love.)
When Ruhanika said the last line, Rajveer and Parinidhi came from behind.
Rajveer,"Chachi nahi Bhabhi, Badi Mumma."
(Not aunty sister-in-law. Big mother)
(Indian way of saying addresing aunty but with position of mother.)
Yes guys, the baby is Rajveer and Parinidhi's baby boy. Parinidhi gave birth 1 week ago.
Ruhanika stared at Shivansh.
Shivansh,"Raj, hum kaise? Tum aur mai toh..."
(Raj, how can we? We both are not...)
Rajveer,"Aap aur mai kya bhai? Sage bhai nahi hai isililye? Bhai maine humesha aapko bada bhai mana hai aur isi haq se aap dono humare bete k Bade Papa aur Badi Mumma hai."
(You amd I what brother. We are not real brothers? Brother, I always considered you my elder brother and with this, I want you guys to be my child's badi mumma and bade papa.)
(Parents equal)
Parinidhi nodded at them and sat beside Ruhanika. The baby who was staring at his surroundings saw his mother and smiled.
Parinidhi smiled and tried to take the baby from Ruhanika but baby turned his face away and snuggled more into Ruhanika's embrace.
Parinidhi,"Thik hai phir. Apni badi mumma k pass hi rehna."
(Fine then, stay with your badi mumma.)
Ruhanika,"Ale mela laddu..."
(Are mera laddu.)
(Aww my Laddu.)
Soon, all four of them went for the baby naming ceremony.
Rajveer and Parinidhi sat with the baby for Puja. After puja, panditji choose the letter 'K' or 'S' for the name of baby.
Everyone told Aarohi to tell the name, she selected.
Aarohi,"Pari Bhabhi, Raj Bhai, maine baby ka naam nahi socha. Aur main chahti hu ki baby ka naam aap rakhe. Pari Bhabhi, 9 mahine aapne baby ko apne pet mein rakha hai. Aapko apne baby ka naam rakhna ka haq toh milna chahiye na. Isiliye main chahti hu ki is chotu ka naam iske mumma papa rakhe."
(Pari sister-in-law, Raj brother, I have not thought the baby's name. Amd I want you guys to name the baby. Pari bhabhi, you carried the baby for 9 months. You should get the right to name the baby. So I want this little one to get his name from his parents.)
Parinidhi,"Thank you Aaru."
Aarohi smiled reassuringly.
Aarav,"Tu itni samajhdar kaise ho gai. Subah tak toh baby ka naam baby ka naam kar rahi thi? Aur woh paper bhi chupa rahi thi."
(How did you become so smart. Till now you were going around hiding a paper saying baby's name is there.)
Aarohi,"Woh toh tumhe pareshaan karne k liye. Aur ye lo paper, khali hai."
(I just wanted to tease you. Paper was blank.)
Before their banter could continue further, Mrs. Rajvansh stopped them and asked Rajveer and Parinidhi to decide the name.
Parinidhi,"Hum Kartik naam soch rahe hai. Kaisa hai?"
(We want to name him Kartik. How is it?)
Mrs. Rajvansh,"Bohot sundar hai."
(Beautiful.)
Aarohi,"Aur hum ghar pe ise pyaar se Kittu bulayenge."
(And we will call him Kittu at home.)
Panditji,"Ab bachhe ki Maa bachhe k kaan mein uska naam boliye aur phir is thaal mein likh dijiye."
(Now the baby's mother should say the name in baby's ear and then write the name on this plate with vermillion.)
Parinidhi did as asked and the baby was named Kartik.
Doctor came for Shivansh's physio.
Shivansh,"Doctor, aaj se ab aapko aane ki zaroorat nahi hai. Hum treatment yahi khatam karte hai. Thank you aapne itni help ki uske liya."
(Doctor, no need to come from today. We will end the treatment here. Thank you for your help.)
Doctor,"Lekin abhi bhi treatment ki zaroorat hai. Aap aise kaise band kar sakte hai?"
(But you still need trearment. You can't stop it midway.)
Ruhanika,"Shiv, kya baat hai?"
(Shiv, what's wrong?)
Shivansh,"Maine keh diya na Ruhh, mujhe ab aur treatment nahi karvana."
(Ruhh, I said what I said. I don't want this treatment anymore.)
Ruhanika understood what Shivansh was feeling. It has been almost 4 months of physiotherapy yet there was no improvement. He was losing confidence in treatment.
Ruhanika asked Doctor for a minute to talk with her.
Ruhanika,"Doctor, aaj rehne dijiye. Main baat karke samjhati hu Shiv ko. Woh thode se niraash ho gaye hai kyunki result nahi aa raha."
(Doctor, let it be for today. I will make him understand. He is disappointed because we are not getting any result.)
Doctor,"Lekin Ruhanika, aise treatment band karne se kya matlab. Paralysis hai, time toh lagega thik hone mein."
(But Ruhanika, we cannot stop the treatment. Its paralysis, it will take time for recovery.)
Ruhanika,"Main samajhti hu doctor. Aaj rehne dijiye, main unse baat karti hu. Phir main aapko phone karke bula lungi."
(I understand doctor. Leave for today, I will talk to him. I will call you.)
Doctor nodded and left from there.
As Ruhanika came near Shivansh, he spoke,"Ruhh mujhe samjhane ki koshish mat karna. Mujhe nahi karvani ab koi treatment."
(Ruhh, dont try to pester me. I dont want treatment.)
Ruhanika sat beside him and held his hand. While playing with his hand, she spoke,"Main toh yeh kehne aayi thi ki kya hum aaj saath mein rahe? Aap chutti le lijiye na. Mujhe aapke saath rehna hai. Achha nahi lag raha."
(I was going to stay that can we spend the day together? You take a leave. I want to spend time with you. I am not feeling good.)
Shivansh,"Achha nahi lag raha? Thik ho tum? Doctor k pass chale?"
(Not feeling good? Are you ok? Shall we go to the doctor?)
Ruhanika,"Arey, waise nahi. Mujhe bas aapke vitamin Shiv ki kami hai. Aapke pass rehna hai."
(Oh, not like that. I have vitamin Shiv deficiency. I want to stay with you.)
Shivansh,"Tum pagal ho Ruhh. Thik hai. Main office phone kar deta hu ki main nahi aa raha."
(You are crazy Ruhh. Okay. I will inform in office.)
Ruhanika nodded her head.
Ruhanika,"Aap woh kar lijiye, main Laddu se mil k aati hu."
(You do that, I will just meet Laddu and come.)
