Chapter 11

Zac

Ican’t even describe how I feel after my morning with Leland.

Do we still have things to talk about? Yes.

But what he revealed doesn’t change a damn thing I feel for him.

It just makes me want to kill whoever hurt him, if Vince doesn’t get to them first. Kris sent the list of known associates, but we refused to look at it.

It felt like a breach of trust, and Vince made that decision in the heat of the moment.

We want Leland to feel comfortable enough to tell us.

Vince came home some time after I fell asleep and gently woke me up to tell me that he wanted to take Leland out for the day since he felt better.

I was still buried inside of Leland and he was sound asleep against my chest. Vince’s smile was so bright when he saw us together.

It finally felt like things were where they’re supposed to be.

I let Leland take a shower first after kissing him awake and I walk to the living room to tell Vince what happened. By the time I’m done, I swear the man is about to fucking bust.

“So, he’s okay with us calling this a relationship?” Vince asks after almost kissing my lips off.

“Not just okay with us calling it that. He’s okay with this being a relationship.”

Vince lays his forehead against mine and sighs. “He’s ours?”

“Yes.” That answer doesn’t come from me, and we both turn to look at Leland. I have to laugh when I notice he’s wearing my hoodie again. I can act mad all I want, but it makes my chest swell knowing that he wants to feel close to me all the time by wearing my clothes.

“Come here,” Vince says gruffly, holding his arms out. Leland walks over and buries himself between us. “Do you know how happy you made us?”

“I can guess,” Leland jokes, his voice coming out muffled where his face is against Vince’s chest. “But I’m happy too.”

“That’s our goal, babydoll. Are you ready to go?

” Leland nods and tilts his face up to Vince.

Vince kisses him so deep that even I can feel it.

Vince pulls back and kisses his chin, cheeks and nose, making Leland fucking giggle.

“After Zac is ready, I thought we could go for a late lunch and then I want to spoil my boy.”

“That sounds fun, Daddy.” I didn’t think the Daddy/boy dynamic would extend past the bedroom with them, but it works for them, and they both love it.

“Perfect,” Vince declares, kissing him one last time.

I shower, get dressed, and we all get our shoes on.

I climb into the car with Leland in the front with Vince.

Vince grabs Leland’s hand to kiss his knuckles and then pulls onto the main road.

We talk the whole way, and I realize this is the most I’ve ever heard Leland freely laugh.

It just shows how much he tried to cover it with humor, but I see his real personality start coming out when he starts giving Vince shit.

“I think my asshole is ruined by Zac’s cock.” Vince splutters a laugh and his head whips to Leland before looking back at the road. “I mean, the man is huge, and his ass is thick and juicy.”

“I’m aware,” Vince says dryly.

“When do I get to watch you fuck him?”

“Goddamn it, baby doll.” Vince shifts his hips in the seat and I cover a laugh with a cough. “I don’t have the right pants on to get hard right now.”

“You didn’t answer my question.”

“I can arrange it. You want to watch me destroy Zac?”

“Oh, please, Daddy? I want to watch his ass bounce as you fuck him.”

“Holy shit,” I groan and have to adjust myself in my jeans. “People are going to get a show.”

Leland turns around in the seat and a slow grin spreads across his face. “You like when people watch you fuck.”

“People who consent to it. Not random people on the street,” I clarify, making Leland laugh.

“Are you saying you don’t want to take me in a random bathroom and fuck my brains out? Or let me suck your dick?”

“Enough,” Vince says, throwing that authority into his voice that drives us both wild. Leland shivers and turns in his seat. “The only thing you’re going to get is a spanking if you keep it up.”

“Well, now I’m hard,” Leland announces.

Vince pulls into a parking spot so we can walk around the shops. “Stay put and I’ll get your door.”

“Yes, Daddy.”

As soon as Vince is out and his door is shut, Leland turns to me. “How mad will he be if I get out before he can do it?”

“Stop poking the bear,” I chuckle. “He will one hundred percent find a secluded place, turn your ass red, and then walk you around with tears streaking down your face.”

“Hmmm. I kind of like that.”

Vince pops Leland’s door open and holds his hand out for him.

Leland hesitates for a split second before sliding his hand into Vince’s.

Vince opens my door and I climb out with them.

Leland chews on his lip for a few seconds when we start walking and then slides his arm through mine.

Leland is tense at first but the more we walk, the more I notice he doesn’t seem to care about the looks that we’re getting.

He’s talking animatedly about the things he sees in windows, dragging us into stores that he finds interesting and smiles while blushing each time Vince or I buy anything that he touches.

We finally make it to a small cafe to eat and conversation continues.

He tells us more about the job and boss that he hates.

“He’s a dick,” Leland says, snatching a fry off Vince’s plate with a grin. He pops it into his mouth, but his smile slips as he chews. “I’ve missed a lot of work lately between my…episode and being sick. I might get fired.”

Vince wipes ranch off Leland’s face with a napkin, making Leland turn a deep crimson red, but he doesn’t pull away. “And we’ll figure it out if he does. It doesn’t sound like the best work environment anyway.”

Leland shrugs. “It’s not, but I need the money or I’ll lose my apartment and car.”

Vince looks at me, and I nod, already knowing what’s coming next. “Come work for us.”

Leland’s brows hit his hairline. “Um, I’m not a lawyer and know nothing about the law except that I shouldn’t break it.”

I chuckle and grab his hand. “Our assistant, Claire, is moving to be closer to her family in a few weeks. Vince and I opened that practice together so we could be close, and we’d like to include you in that.” Leland’s brows furrow and Vince smoothes them out with his thumb.

“This isn’t a kept man situation, baby doll. We would pay you well, and it’s a legit job. It’s not our way of keeping an eye on you.”

“How did you know what I was thinking?” Leland asks.

“Because I’ve learned to read you. We don’t want you in a situation where you’re unhappy, and your job makes you that way. We’re just offering you a better solution.”

“Can I think about it?”

“Of course,” I answer.

We move back to safer topics while Vince pays for the check. By the time we make it back to our shopping, Leland is back to a ball of energy. I notice him casting glances at a shop without stopping and look closer only to notice that it’s a lingerie shop, and there’s a male mannequin in the window.

I gently tug us to a stop. “Do you want to go in there?” Vince looks at me, and then I watch as he realizes what it is.

“Is that weird? I really liked how those panties felt.”

“It’s not weird at all baby doll, and you looked amazing in them.”

“I kind of want to try some more,” Leland practically whispers, and we’re already leading him inside.

The shop is elegant with every piece you can imagine. The guy behind the counter smiles when we walk in. “Welcome. Is there anything I can help you with?”

“We’re just going to browse if that’s okay,” Vince answers.

“Absolutely. I’ll be right here if you need me.”

Leland looks shell shocked as we look around, but touches anything silky and soft.

I make mental notes and I know Vince is too because everything he touches is something that he likes.

Leland is equal parts masculine and feminine.

I’m just glad Vince picked up on the feminine part.

We’ll help him explore anything that he wants to as long as it makes him happy.

When Leland stops to stare at a white outfit with a lacy corset, boy shorts and a garter belt, I almost swallow my tongue imagining him in it.

“Do you like that?” I ask when he doesn’t move.

“It’s gorgeous.”

“And you’d look gorgeous in it,” Vince assures him. Vince waves the guy over and points to it. “I’ll take this in a medium and several other pieces.” They walk off and Leland turns to me with wide eyes.

“He’s going to buy out the store, isn’t he?”

I laugh and pull him against my side by his waist. “Probably. We’ve been watching you this whole time. Wanting these things isn’t bad.”

“I don’t want you to think I’m weird.”

“We’d never think that, and Vince put you in them first so have fun with it. Go tell him what you want.”

“Fine,” Leland sighs. “Daddy!” Leland’s eyes bug out of his head when he realizes what he said, but Vince doesn’t bat an eye.

“Yes, babydoll?”

“I, uh, want to help.”

“Perfect. Come tell him the ones you like.”

Leland is shy at first, but the sales guy, Brett, immediately makes him feel at ease.

They go around the store like two lost friends, gushing at all the pieces.

Some things that Leland picks up I can envision him in.

Vince has to tell him several times to stop looking at the prices and just put them in the pile, which makes me love Leland even more.

A lot of lingerie and a lot of money later, we’re back on the street.

Leland has a hold of both our hands, swinging them as he walks.

We drop the bags off at the car and continue shopping.

We’re laughing about something Leland said when we turn a corner and he comes to a dead stop.

His face goes pale and his palms start sweating.

“Leland,” the man says and I immediately see the resemblance even with this guy’s gray hair and gut.

“Dad,” Leland croaks.

His dad’s eyes shoot to our locked hands and his face reddens with anger. “What are you doing?”

“We’re, uh…” All the confidence Leland had earlier has evaporated and he drops our hands.

“Shopping,” Vince finishes for him with a hard edge to his voice. “Vince Porter.” Vince holds his hand out for Leland’s dad to shake, and I don’t miss the disgust on his face when he does. I also don’t miss that Vince squeezes a little too hard. “I didn’t catch your name?”

“Bruce Monroe.”

“Zac Ross.” I shake his hand but his eyes are locked on his son’s face.

“You haven’t been by, Leland,” Bruce says.

Leland’s brows furrow. “Yeah. For five years. You just noticed?”

“That was your decision. Not ours. We won’t beg you to come see us.” This fucking prick. This is his son.

“You made it very clear when I turned eighteen that I wasn’t allowed in your home anymore.”

“Yes, because I found out you were lying with men. I see nothing has changed.”

Leland’s face goes red with anger, and he takes a step toward his dad. “Lying with men?” Leland hisses. “I told you what he did to me, and you told me to never come back.”

Bruce rolls his eyes and my anger surges to the surface. “You’re still telling that story? If anything did happen, you seduced him to get ahead—”

“That’s enough,” Vince barks, making Leland and his dad jump. “You will not speak to him that way. I don’t give a fuck who you are. If you can’t have a respectful conversation with your son, we can leave.”

I watch emotion after emotion pass over Leland’s face. His face smooths out and he grabs our hands in a death grip. “There’s nothing left to say. Let’s just go. Have a nice life, Dad.”

Leland shoves us past a stunned Bruce and we lead him back to the car. He climbs into the back, pulls his hood up and stares out the window.

It looks like this conversation is happening sooner than we thought.
