Harper really had no idea why the two of them were shocked,it wasn't like the world was ending or something. "I've done what you asked me to, can I get the money now?"
"Sure thing". Catherine opened a cheque book,tore off a page and handed it to Harper. She was about to take it when Catherine pulled her hand back "What's wrong?"
"How can I be sure that you aren't lying to me?" Harper immediately brought out her marriage certificate and they were stunned "Ok,I believe you now. Here you go"
"Thank you"
"Whatever. You can get going now"
Chloe watched as Harper left then she stood up and stumped her feet in anger "Mom, how could you give the money to Harper? I know it's just a drop in the bucket for you but did you really have to give it to her?!"
"Relax baby. I may have given her the money but that doesn't mean her mother will get the surgery"
"You mean-"
"Shh,we can't let anyone hear us"
"Oh mom, you're so smart!"
"Of course I am. You just watch my dear as we trample those two underfoot!"
"What do you mean there's no need to pay anymore? Is the hospital going to kick my mom out? Please don't I have the mo-"
"No Miss Carson, we're not kicking your mom out, someone already paid $1,000,000 for your mom's surgery and her follow-up treatment"
"$1,000,000?! But that's way too much! Did the person leave a name?"
"I'm afraid not. But you don't need to worry about the money okay? We'll send the rest of the money to you"
"O- okay"
Harper was about to leave her mother's ward when she saw the dean of the hospital,he was also the one who was going to operate on her mother. "Good afternoon Mr Martin"
"Afternoon Harper. May I have a word with you? It's about your mother"
"Yes sir is anything the matter?"
"Well I'm sorry but, I won't be able to operate on her anymore"
"What?!"
