Chapter 5

"What do you mean you can't operate on my mother? Is there something else that's wrong with her?"

"No no there's nothing wrong with your mother that can delay the surgery it's just-" The hospital dean put a hand on Harper's shoulder and heaved a long sigh "Listen here Harper, I would love to help but you see, I'll lose my job if I do so and I have a family to take care of.

You understand don't you?"

Harper left the hospital and kept walking dejectedly on the road but she didn't notice the fancy car following close behind her.

Harrison watched as Harper walked with a furrowed brow.

What was wrong with this woman? Why was she walking in the rain without so much as an umbrella? And most importantly, where was she going looking like that?

Harrison was about to tell the driver to move the car closer to Harper so she could get in but he remembered his 'identity' and changed his mind, ordered his driver to go back and got down from the car with an umbrella instead.

He tapped Harper by the shoulder and she flinched before turning around.

When she did so, Harrison was stunned by what he saw.

How could she have cried so much that he could tell the rain droplets apart from her tears?

But then again it hadn't been raining cats and dogs.

"Harrison" The way Harper had called his name made him feel heartbroken for some reason.

He shifted the umbrella towards her and held her hand, something he would have never done in his lifetime.

He also said "Come on, let's go home" and started to lead her in the direction of his 'house'.

Harrison's driver and his assistant Clyde turned to look at each other with shock.

Their boss had actually held out an umbrella for a lady and held her hand?! You see their boss only ever held his mother and little sister by the hand but that itself was on very few occasions.

Boss, please blink twice if you need help!
