"Harper,who is this?" "Well, I-" "It's nice to meet you ma'am, I'm Harrison, Harper's husband" "So you're the one who's been taking care of my little darling uh?" "Yes ma'am" "So how'd you guys meet?" "Mom!" Just then,there was a knock on the door and Tina's head popped in "Tina! What are you doing here" "Harper,is that how you speak to your friend?!" "Mum,she-" "That's enough. If it weren't for Tina here I wouldn't even know that my daughter's gotten married. You know what? You go out with Tina. I'ld like to have a little chat with Harrison" "But mom!" "It's okay Harper I'll stay with mom, you can go with Tina" "Mom?!"
"What? Is there something wrong with your husband calling me mom?" Harrison stood up and held Harper's hand "It's okay, I'll stay with your mom. You can rest assured" "Uh ok". Harper was in a daze due to Harrison's gentle actions and she walked out of the room,not coming back to her senses until Tina shook her "What is it!" "Um, I'm not the one who was walking like someone under a spell just now, am I?" "Well, that's because- It's all your fault!" "How is it my fault?" "I was planning to tell mom about it but you did it first" "Well-" Harper started walking away and Tina followed after her while calling out for her "Harper, Harper!" "Shh,this is a hospital you're disturbing the patients!" Tina scratched her head as she looked at the angry nurse and gave a nervous smile "Sorry, sorry" She started speed walking, trying to keep up with her friend who seemed to be walking at the speed of light "Harper"
A few minutes later, Harrison walked out of the ward and saw Harper standing in front of the door "What are you doing here? Where's Tina?" "Oh her? The manager called her over for something" "You don't want to see your mother?" "Nah she's probably mad at me now. I'll come see her some other time" "Ok" "What did she talk to you about?" "Harrison paused for a moment and looked at Harper as Bethany's words echoed in his mind "Harper doesn't say much but she's suffered a lot in the past few years. She's been bearing a lot of things on her own and I'm glad she finally met someone who can take care of her. Harrison, promise me that you'll be good to her?"
"Nothing much" "I see-" "Miss Carson!" Harper turned around and saw a young man in a white coat running towards her "Is there something wrong?" The man noticed Harrison and was about to say something when he shook his head, causing him to change his words. "It's nice to meet you, my name's Jordan Kent and I'm a surgeon" "Nice to meet you doctor. Is there something you need to tell me?" "I'm the one who's going to be in charge of your mother's surgery" "What?!"
Harper walked out of the hospital with Harrison and she turned to look at him with happiness "What is it?" "Didn't you hear what the doctor said? He's going to be in charge of my mom's surgery! I've never met him before but he decided to help. Isn't that amazing?" "I guess it is"
In fact, Harrison was the one who had arranged for the doctor. He had made a promise to always help Harper and he was going to keep that promise, at least until he divorces her.
