Chapter 43
~A few weeks later~
"Harrison, what are you doing?" "Nothing" "Don't lie to me, you were on the phone just now with someone and you seem mad. What's going on?" "Nothing babe I promise" Harrison's and Harper's wounds had finally healed completely and they were discharged from the hospital. They had just arrived home and Harper planned to make dinner.
She was about to ask Harrison
what he wanted for dinner when she saw him on the phone with someone and he seemed mad, saying something about him not wanting to see someone again after tomorrow. But she asked him about it and he denied seriously, was she having auditory hallucinations? Harper watched as her husband walked away with furrowed brows before she suddenly remembered what she wanted to ask him in the first place. "Harrison, wait up!"
Harper slipped and was just about falling down when she felt an arm around her waist. She looked up to see Harrison who was looking at her with worry filled eyes. "Easy there baby girl, what's the matter?" "I just wanted to ask you what you want for dinner" "There's no need to make dinner tonight" "Uh?" "We're going out for dinner" "Okay!" Harrison held Harper's hand and together they went to a nearby restaurant where they had a nice time together. They went home holding hands and fell asleep in each other's arms.
The next day...
"Chloe's gone? What do you mean Chloe's gone?" "She's not working at the company anymore" "No freaking way! Do you know what happened?" "Not really but I heard it was your dad who made her stop coming to work" Lily moved closer and whispered in Harper's ear "I heard that Chloe did something unspeakable" "Do you know what it is?" "Nope but it's probably something really serious otherwise why would the CEO stop her from coming to the company?" "I guess you're right"
Harper couldn't help but get lost in thought for a moment. Harrison was on a phone call last night saying that he didn't want to see a certain someone at work anymore. Could he have... No way! But the same thing happened a few months ago and Lauren had also gotten fired so what was going on?

"Chloe Lana Carson! How could you do such a thing?!" Chloe was on her knees and in front of her was William who had a terrifying look on his face. Turns out Chloe had actually told Mr Martin to kidnap Harper. He understood why she may have wanted to do so but going as far as asking him to sleep with Harper and send the recording to Harrison just so she could ruin the relationship between them?! That was simply outrageous!
There were several rich men who wanted to marry Chloe so why was she so hellbent on having a relationship with Harrison? He's just a bodyguard! There's no way he's going to give his daughter to someone of such lowly status!
"Dad I love Harrison! He's the man I want! Why won't you let me have him?!" "He's just a simple bodyguard! There's no way I'm letting you have a relationship with someone like him,he doesn't deserve it!" "I don't care what you say dad, Harrison's the one I want and I-" William suddenly slapped Chloe, which caused both her and Catherine to be stunned.
William had always referred to Chloe as his beloved daughter and he'd never raised his voice at her, talkless of slapping her. What was wrong with him?
Chloe ran upstairs crying and Catherine went after her. William watched as his wife and daughter went upstairs with clenched fists. He'd never wanted to slap Chloe, she was the apple of his eye. He wanted to go after Chloe but he remembered the phone call he'd received a few hours ago.
The person who had called him told him to fire Chloe so she wouldn't appear at the company and that she would be sent to jail if he didn't do so. "I'm sorry Chloe but what I'm doing is simply for your own good"
It was closing time at the company and Harper was on her way home with Harrison. He was about to say something to her but a call interrupted him. He answered immediately upon seeing the caller id but what he heard the person on the other side say left him stunned. "What did you say?!"
