Chapter 53
"Harper,are you crying?!" "Y-you- stay away from me!" "Babe,what's the matter?" "Did you really think I haven't seen your behavior these days?" "What? What did I do?" "Y-you've been paying quite a lot of attention to Ruby these days. I know your job is to protect her, but it's becoming way too much!" "Babe I-" "Don't you babe me! You know what? It's over, I'm going out of this house tonight so you can enjoy your love story with Ruby!"
Ruby may be Harper's stepsister,but she didn't hate her one bit. If anything,she liked her a lot, even Bethany did so too. But Harrison was her man! That's when she remembered some nightmare she had a few days ago about someone coming in between them to ruin their relationship. Even if that happens,does it really have to be Ruby?!
Harrison looked at his wife who was lost in thought and heaved a huge sigh. He held her by the shoulders and when she finally looked up at him, he said something that was quite shocking "Babe, Ruby's my sister!" "Well,yeah. I mean she's my sister so technically she's your sister-in-la-" Harrison heaved yet another sigh as he released his grip on Harper's shoulders and held her hands instead. "Ruby's my biological sister,we share the same parents" "Wait,what?!" "Remember the time I told you about my childhood?" Harper remembered that day clearly,it was the day after they came back home from the hospital after Gertrude had been discharged. He sat her down and told her what had happened to him in his childhood and she felt very heartbroken. He'd lost his mother at the tender age of seven, his sister who was only four at the time also got kidnapped a few days later. Unfortunately his father didn't pay him any attention at all,he was even the one who married the woman that caused his mother's death and sister's disappearance. If it weren't for his grandparents especially Gertrude, he could have died years ago.
"So... Ruby's your sister who went missing all those years ago?" "Yes" "But how did she get into the Carson family?" "That's what I don't know. But, there's another problem" "What is it?" "I've been trying to get Ruby to come back,I even got someone to tell her about her real family over the phone but she doesn't want to listen at all" "Oh? You don't need to worry about that okay? I'll try talking to her, ladies feel more comfortable with other ladies like themselves" Harrison leaned down and kissed Harper on the cheek "Thanks babe, what would I ever do without you?" "No need to thank me, you're my husband. I can tell you've been trying really hard to get Ruby to come back so why shouldn't I be able to help?"
Harrison glanced at his wife who was a full head shorter than him "So tell me, were you jealous?" "Jealous? Me? Of course not! Well maybe I'm a little bit jealous of Ruby, she has a big brother to take care of her. I almost can't believe you became a bodyguard just to find her!" Harrison kissed Harper on the cheek again "There's no need to envy anyone, cause I'm now yours" "Harrison, are you always like this?" "Of course not, only for you babe" "Oh please,I don't believe you" "Oh, then what can I do to show you that I'm not lying?" "H-Harrison- what are you doing?"
He kept moving closer to her and she kept moving backwards in an attempt to escape. She soon found herself with her back against the wall. Harrison cornered her and he placed his hands at either side of her body "What do you mean love? I'm simply trying to show you something" Harrison lowered his head, about to kiss Harper when her phone suddenly started ringing. He moved back and ran his hand through his hair in frustration. Who dared disturb his intimate moment with his wife?
Harper ended the call and looked up at Harrison with worry filled eyes "What's the matter love?" "Ruby's in trouble,we need to go save her now!"
