Chapter 54
Ruby sat down on the sofa, dressed in slightly revealing clothes with some makeup. A hand suddenly came and held her thigh, and she gave a look of disgust before lifting it away. Mal looked at her with a sly smile "Come on now, there's no need to be shy. We'll get married soon, won't we? And doesn't your dad need some money for the company? If you behave, I'll give you the money" "S-s-sorry but,I don't think I can do this"
Ruby got up from the sofa and she was just about to leave when Mal suddenly grabbed her by the arm and forcefully pulled her down. "Where do you think you're going?" "I'm not letting you leave if I don't have you tonight!" Ruby struggled hard but women were of course no match for men. Mal simply held her hands above her head and proceeded to remove his belt, not caring one bit about the tears swirling around in Ruby's eyes. He was about to rip off her skirt when the door was suddenly kicked open and a bunch of burly men dressed in nothing but pure black came in.
"Who dares to --" Mal hadn't completed his statement before a burlap bag was thrown over his head and he was dragged out of the room. Harper immediately came in with Harrison and she gently pulled Ruby up, taking Harrison's jacket and drapping it over her. Tina had called her a while ago, saying that Ruby was at the bar and seemed to be in trouble. When the call ended, she told Harrison what had happened and told him to bring some bodyguards along, just in case and it seems she had made the right decision.
Harrison left Harper to take care of Ruby and went into the next room, he was going to make sure to teach Mal Fletcher a lesson. How dare he lay hands on his sister? Malcolm layed there in front of Harrison's feet like a dog while breathing heavily, he had been beaten severely before Harrison came in. One of the bodyguards removed the burlap bag from Mal's head and kicked him hard, forcing him to look up at Harrison. "Excuse me sir,but may I ask what I've done wrong?" Mal didn't recognize Harrison and this was because he had a pair of sunglasses on. Otherwise who knows what he would have done? The bodyguard kicked him again "How dare you talk to him like that? Do you know who he is? He's the CEO of Whitney Corp!" "What?!" The CEO of Whitney Corp? The largest company in the entire country? The CEO of that company was on a level he could only dream of reaching. Mal had always wanted to meet him,but he most definitely didn't think it was going to be like this!
"You dared to touch Ruby Carson, that's your offense" "Sir, I'm so sorry,I didn't know Ruby was your woman,if I did--" "Shut up!" The bodyguard kicked him again and placed the burlap bag over his head. The sound of kicks and blows soon filled the room. Harrison's phone rang and he answered the call "What's up?"
On the other end of the phone was a man who looked so much like Harrison, he could be mistaken for his twin. If Harper saw him now, she would remember him as the man she'd seen at the hotel on the day she thought Harrison was cheating on her with Ivy Miller. "Big bro,I can hear someone screaming there. Are you torturing someone?" "What is it Jason?" "I just called to tell you that grandpa says he wants to see you" "Tell him I'll be home in a few days" "Ok, What about sis--" Harrison cut the call, not letting him finish his statement. He signalled to the bodyguards and they carried Mal out of the room. He then picked his phone and sent a text to Clyde "I want the entire Fletcher family to crumble in the next three minutes" He received a reply instantly but didn't bother to check it, he knows how capable Clyde is, otherwise he wouldn't have hired him as his assistant.
Harrison went back to the room where his wife and sister were chatting. Harper got up and left to go see Tina. Harrison sat down beside Ruby on the sofa and she instinctively shifted to the other end. "Take it easy, I'm not gonna hurt you. I have something really important to tell you and I hope you'll listen"
A few minutes later, Ruby stood up from the sofa in shock "I'm the heiress of the Whitney family?!"
