"Hey bestie!" "Harper! What are you doing here?" "Hey, don't be like that. Can't I just come see you whenever I feel like?" "Of course you can, it's just that..." "I know,I know, it's been a long time since I've last seen you. But didn't we see each other like last week?" "Look at you. Last week uh? There was a time you used to see me everyday!" "Well yeah we used to work together so of course I could see you everyday but I've been really busy lately with stuff in the company" "Oh I see, you're showing off now that you've gotten a job in a big company uh" "Oh come on bestie, you know it's not like that. In fact there's been a lot of problems with the company nowadays" "Really?" "Yup" "Tell me about it then!" Harper looked around before looking back at Tina "Aren't you on your shift?" "Nope, my shift was over ten minutes ago. I'm just helping the next person man the counter. Oh look here he is! Hi Mason" "Hey thanks for helping me out" "No p! See you tomorrow?" "Sure bye!"
The two friends left the bar hand-in-hand and went to Tina's house. It was a small rented apartment,but the environment was good and the rent was cheap. "Make yourself at home" Harper shook the can of cola that she had just taken out of the mini fridge "Right ahead of ya". Tina came out of the bathroom a few minutes later while drying her hair with a towel. "Hey Harper" "Yeah?" "The pizza isn't here yet?" "Nope. You ordered pizza?" 'Ding!' "Oh look there it is" "I'll go get it"
A few minutes later the two besties sat on the sofa while eating pizza and drinking cola. "So what did you say is wrong with the company?" "Oh right. Remember what happened last week?" "You mean with Lauren and Mr Carson? Yeah I do" "So you know that Mr Whitney got mad and said he wasn't going to have anything to do with the Carson family anymore?" "Yes..." "Well it's affected the company a lot lately. Many big companies who decided to sign contracts with us because of the Whitney family have backed out,and they refused to pay for the breach of contract" "Really?" "Hmm. I have a feeling the company's gonna go bankrupt soon" "You're not worried about it? It's your mother's company, isn't it?" "Yeah but it doesn't really matter anymore. What I'm really worried about are the people who've been working there for years like sister Kaylie. Their only source of livelihood is about to go bankrupt" "But they have good skills right? Don't worry,I bet they'll be able to find better jobs in bigger companies" "Hopefully, they will"
Harper looked at the slice of pizza and cola in front of her before scrunching up her nose and shaking her head. "What's wrong?" "Nothing,I was just thinking about Harrison. He'd probably nag at me if he saw what I was eating right now. That guy is such a worrywart!" Tina leaned forward with a sly smile "Speaking of your silver eyes and handsome husband, how are things going between you two?" "We're doing well" "So you two haven't--" "Tina!" "What? I was just asking" "Well don't ask anymore" "Ok, ok I won't. But damn girl your man has a lot of patience" "Uh?" "You two have been married for almost a year now. Some men can't wait that long" "Well I just guess I'm lucky" "Yeah yeah lucky you" "So about Mason..." "What about him?" "You don't like him?" "Well he's cute but he's not my type" "Seriously Tina?" "What?" "Nothing. Guess I'll just have to keep praying for you to find your type soon. You're 24 Tina! You should atleast have a boyfriend by now!"
"Oh yeah, speaking of boyfriends, there's something I have to tell you" "What is it?" "You know Mal Fletcher, your stepsister's fiance?" "Yeah? What about him?" Harper knew Mal Fletcher yeah, he was Ruby's ex fiance. But Ruby wasn't her stepsister, she was her sister-in-law. She couldn't tell Tina of course, there were some things that you can't tell your bestie no matter how close you are "I heard that he and his entire family are doomed!" "When did that happen?" A few minutes later, Harper arrived at home. She saw Harrison who immediately rushed towards her. He wanted to hold her hand but she pulled it out of his hold. "Babe, what's wrong?" Harper looked at him for a few seconds, before suddenly lifting her arm and slapping him!
