Chapter 62
Harrison turned to look at his wife with a furrowed brow. Did she just slap him? What in the world was going on? "Harper what ha--" "Don't you dare say one more word y-you-liar!" "Liar? What did I do?" "Oh please. Don't tell me you weren't hiding your true identity from me all along!" Harrison paused at her words. How did she know?
Harper looked at Harrison's reaction and stumbled backwards as tears started to drop from her eyes. On her way home, she saw Chloe. Surprisingly she didn't harm her like she'd expected. She simply said she had something to show her. What was it that she wanted to show her? It was evidence. Proof that showed Harrison was the heir of the Whitney family! Harper didn't want to believe it, but it all seemed so real. She decided to go home and confront Harrison about it and unfortunately, what Chloe had shown her was the truth. Harrison had been lying to her all this time! Harper felt really heartbroken. The person she loved the most apart from her mother had been lying to her all this time?!
"Harper,--" "Don't you dare touch me! It all adds up now. The dean ending up in jail, Lauren and Chloe disappearing from the company after they harmed me, what happened to the Fletcher family, it all makes sense now" "Harper--" "Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me!" "Harper I really did want to tell you but--I never got the chance" "You didn't have a chance? Harrison, did you just say you didn't have a chance?! There were several chances you had to tell me! When the dean got arrested or when that doctor told me he'd perform surgery on mom. You could have told me the time Lauren and Chloe were stopped from working in the company! You could have told me the time we went to Willowbrook to take care of your grandmother! You could have told me last week! Harrison,there were many chances for you to tell me the truth but you didn't tell me. Why?!" "Harper--" "Is it because you think I'd be after your family's wealth? You know what, I don't even care anymore" Harper went inside the room and soon came out with a small suitcase.
She stood in front of Harrison and removed the wedding ring he had given her and placed it on the table. She also put down the card he had given her a few days after they had gotten married. "I can't bear the title of the prestigious Mrs Whitney, it'll be too much of a burden for a person like me" "Harper--" "That's the card you gave me. I spent some money out of it, I'll make sure to return it when I have the chance. Goodbye Mr Whitney. I'll make sure to send the divorce papers when they're ready". Harper reached the door and was just about opening it when Harrison grabbed her by the arm "Mr Whitney, do you mind letting go of me?" Harrison looked at his wife whose eyes had slowly began to turn red and felt heartbroken. "I'm not letting you leave!" "Mr Whitney, you've behaved quite rationally since I've known you, you really wouldn't want to lose the little respect I have left for you, would you now?" Harper's words stunned Harrison and he slowly let go of her sleeve, watching her as she left with extreme heartache. She called him Mr Whitney just now, was their relationship really doomed?
"Who is it..." Bethany looked at her daughter with confusion. Why was she crying? And why was there a suitcase with her? Did she have another argument with Harrison? "Harper dear, what's wrong?" Harper didn't say a word, she simply hugged her mother and broke down in tears.
A few hours later..
Harper sat on the ground with her head on Bethany's laps as she gently stroked her soft black hair. "Harper?" Harper sniffled before raising her head to look at Bethany "Yes mom?" "There's something important I have to tell you"

"Miss, there's someone here to see you" "Who is it?" "That girl from the Carson family" "Let her in". The door opened and as soon as Chloe walked in, Jade dropped the glass of wine on the table and crossed her legs in a ladylike manner before smiling. "How was it?" "It all went well" "I see...why do you look so scared?" "Nothing"
Chloe had tried really hard,but she couldn't forgot the look on Harper's face as she told her Harrison's secret. She suddenly burst into laughter with tears coming out from her eyes "It all makes sense now! It makes total sense!" Harper suddenly turned to look at Chloe and the look in her eyes petrified her. She looked like a crazy woman! Harper grabbed her by the shoulders and she tried to break free but her hold was too tight... Her nails seemed to dig into her skin too. "Thank you so much Chloe, you helped me clear so many things I've had on my mind for months! Thank you sis!" Shivers went down Chloe's spine, Harper had never called her sis before! What was going on? Had Harper gone crazy?
"Miss Carson?" "Y-yes?" Chloe looked at Jade who arched a brow "Oh right. I told Harper everything and showed her what you asked me to. By the look on her face, I can guarantee she's asked him for a divorce!" "Oh? But Harrison's rich. Harper knows that now, so how can you be so sure that she'll want to leave him?" " I know Harper well, she hates deception the most! Now that she knows Harrison had been lying to her, she won't forgive him even if he were the world's richest man!" Chloe cautiously looked at Jade "I-I did what you asked me to, can I go now?" "Yeah yeah whatever"
Jade's assistant spoke watched as Chloe left before speaking. "Miss Bell, Harper may not want Mr Whitney anymore but how about Chloe? Can you be sure she won't try to hook up with him?" "Oh trust me. She knows Harrison's my man, she wouldn't dare cross paths with me unless she wants to die!"
Jade was about to leave when the door was kicked open and someone came in "Harrison?" Jade didn't get to say what she wanted to before Harrison walked up to her and held her tightly by the neck!
