Chapter 20

CHAPTER 20

The team watched Chief Blackfoot for his reaction to the news they had just delivered. They knew right away that he was unaware of Alberty’s background by the look on his face and the set of his mouth.

That told them that the senior Alberty lied to the Blackfoot’s about his ancestry all these years and it was never verified. All hell was about to break loose in the office.

“You lying bitches!” Gabriel Alberty screamed at the women.

“What proof do you have of your accusations?” Chief Blackfoot silenced the man.

“Alberty’s family name is Cabrera. His grandfather did wet work for the Perez Cartel years ago. His father was sent to the US to open a network in the US for the cartel. They changed their last names to Alberty. The cartel decided they wanted to put their hands into the casino business, so they told Gabe to make it happen,” Pratt started the information sharing.

“Thing is, ole Gabe knew what his daddy did. He knew about the lies. That’s why he went and forced one of your women to marry him and knocked her up. You were led to believe that ole Gabe here was the target when his wife and daughter were blown to smithereens that day. He wasn’t. She was on her way to tell you everything she found out, so, to protect his secret, Citali’s secret, and a few other things, Gabe over there blew his wife’s car up with shit that the cartel sent him,” Raso continued, blowing a bubble with the gum Diesel had given her.

“Citali did go with family out west. But as soon as his ass made it to California, he was sent to Mexico to be trained by his cousin’s to be a part of the family business with the cartel. The Cartel also rewarded Gabe and Citali for taking out your son and pushing you to marry your daughter to Iyei to get their foot into the casino’s.” York sat in one of the chairs and crossed her feet at the ankles.

“See, chief, the Alberty’s have, well had, probably still do in some way shape or form, this plan to put Iyei in your place when they took you out. Once Iyei was in place, either daddy or one of his brothers would take the leadership spot and then the cartel would have a foothold in Montana since they know that non-reservation law enforcement can’t touch anyone while on the reservation. They could and would take out those in the Tribal Police Department that opposed them and place people in their place that they could control.” Diesel finished with a bow of her head to Gabe and Iyei with a smirk.

Gabriel started clapping and laughing at the same time. “Big problem with your insane bullshit theory, ladies. No one can be appointed outside of the Blackfoot family tree.”

“Technically, no. See, Catori would be next in line since your first born took out the chief’s first born. But, her daddy-o here only wants a male appointed to the seat, so, that means her husband could have a shot at being the next in line to hold the position for her son, Jace. Hence, you knew that, so you pushed for the chief to sign a contract that one of your boys would marry Catori to make up for what your other son took away from him. But Iyei fucked that up for you when he got caught by the cops on a business trip for the chief that was less than honorable. So, you’ve been pushing for him to tie Aiyannei to marry Anam, that way Anam would be the one to take the over the business for you. Only, even if you took out the chief and married Aiyannei to Anam, there’s still one tiny obstacle in your way.”

“I’ll play along with your ridiculous theory. Pray tell what that obstacle would be?” Gabe sneered at the women.

“Jace!” All four women said at the same time.”

“Jace isn’t as gullible as you and your family wants to think he is.He won’t agree to marry Aiyannei to Anam. You would have to admit that you knew all this time that Jace, Aiyannei and Enola weren’t your biological grandchildren. So, the next obstacle in your plan was Warcloud. Yet, you, Iyei and Citali already had a plan to take him out. The missing girls. You were going to use that as a way to take him and Jace out of the picture. With Jace gone, that was your clear path to the chief’s seat.”

“Then Warcloud fucked up that plan for you by calling Hank for help. You were planning to pin the missing girls on Warcloud. But, then ole Hank fucked it up further for you by bringing us in.” Diesel finished up for Pratt and York.

“You’re still missing a vital piece of information on this so-called theory of yours. I can’t make a move no matter what happens.” Gabe laughed as he shook his head at the women.

“Oh, you mean the elders? Nah. We weren’t done. We know you have a couple of them in your pocket using fear. Maybe one or two with promises of money, power and young pussy from the human trafficking ring you’re trying to bring into the casino under the chief’s nose. Chief Blackfoot is just slowing down your progress in making that happen since he doesn’t approve of it.” Raso quipped with a shrug.

“While he may not want his daughter in control of the reservation, he does love her and his granddaughters. Which is why you and your boys made sure they never told him about the physical, mental and emotional abuse they were enduring at yours and your boys’ hands.” Pratt glared at the man, daring him to speak.

“Not only that, but you were also the one who took Aiyannei out of school to have an abortion when she wound up pregnant with Anam’s child. You didn’t want the cat out of the bag yet.” Diesel announced the biggest secret of all.
