Chapter 29
I couldn’t help myself.
Blaze had already pissed me off.
Then this fine specimen of a man, whose name by the way is Knox, came up to me and asked my name.
Any other time I probably would have scoffed at him, told him to get lost, but Blaze created this monster in me or maybe he’s unleashed one that goes irrationally feral and doesn’t think before she acts.
I almost did, not wanting to hurt Aaron.
But I can make it up to him later.
Tonight, Blaze needs to break.
Knox is telling me about his next gig as I watch an auburn hair woman make her way toward Blaze.
I don’t pay her any mind because Blaze’s eyes steadily focus on me.
Clearly not thinking again, stumble into Knox’s.
His arms opening quickly, allowing me snuggle in deeper as I stare Blaze down.
Knowing I have his attention, I close my eyes, pretending to soak in the moment, acting like I’m very much into this.
I wish I could enjoy it, but unfortunately it sends no sparks through me and I keep wanting to look back at Blaze to see if he’s watching.
Silently hoping Aaron isn’t.
I take the chance to peek at them and I instantly freeze.
Knox must notice the change in me because he pulls back, giving me room to ask if I’m okay.
I don’t say anything though.
I can’t.
My brain is running a thousand miles a minute, thinking of every way I can tear that bitch’s hands off my man.
Her hand slowly inches its way closer to his groin and my breath hitches when she leans in to say something, her lips brushing his neck, leaving a red lip stain.
I lose it, it feels like everything goes black in my head, except for the spotlight plastered right over Blaze and this skank. I can feel myself shove Knox away, angrily heading toward Blaze.
His head turns to face me finally as I approach, but I don’t even give a fuck about his attention right now. I have my eyes set on someone else and she’s about to wish she’d never set foot in this bar.
I snatch her by the back of her head, my hand fisting her hair. I barely registering the scream coming from her mouth, Daren yelling my name trying to get my attention
“I’ll handle it,”
Blaze sighs.
Handle what exactly? I don’t know, but it sure as hell won’t be me. I’m behind the back of the bar, head toward the storage room where the back exit is. I see my metal Louisville sitting by the storage room door and grab it.
“Hell yeah, get them gorgeous,”
I hear Harold shout as he laughs.
An evil smirk covers my face, “Oh, I’m going to get them.”
The woman is still kicking and screaming when we make it outside to the back alleyway.
I throw her to the ground, hair still stuck between my fingers from how hard I had a grip on her.
She lands on her hands and knees, hitting the concrete hard. Her face is red from all the screaming, tears pouring down her face.
“Oh look, you dropped into your perfect position,” I snarl.
“What is your problem bitch?”
the girl screams, glaring up at me.
“My problem is you,”
I spit, circling her. “But don’t worry…I’m going to fix it.”
Taking the bat, I swing, catching her right in the jaw. I hear the beautiful sound of her bones cracking, sending a thrill through me.
“You know…I always wanted to play baseball…I guess I can practice on you.”
My cackle fills the air as I swing again, hitting her in the shoulder. She falls flat to the ground, crying louder than she was when I dragged her by the hair.
I see her left hand laying flat out beside her face and don’t miss the opportunity, hitting across her knuckles as hard as I can. She screams bloody murder, instantly grabbing her hand to cradle it to her chest as she rolls on her side.
“You know, you really shouldn’t touch things that don’t belong to you,”
I taunt, squatting down so I’m closer to her.
“I didn’t know, I swear. He didn’t mention you or any other woman.”
Her eyes plead for mercy. Unfortunately, I have none left to give.
“Tsk…tsk…anyone with a brain could see the way he was eye fucking me all night. The way he was leaning into Aaron. You just chose to not give a fuck and slut yourself out. Which, don’t get me wrong. I don’t like to slut shame. Do your thing girl, but you decide to try on the wrong man, not caring that he clearly wanted someone else. Talk about the lack of self-respect. Oh well, you won’t need it where you’re going.”
Her eyes go wide in fright. “What do you—”
Swinging the bat again, I hit her in the middle of the stomach, she grunts, holding her broken hand and stomach with the only hand still intact. Kicking her onto her back, I gaze down at her.
“Time to say bye bye birdy,”
my voice comes out sweet, as I give her a small wave.
Her mouth opens and I move, instantly placing the heel of my stiletto boot in her mouth, making sure I reach the very back of her throat.
She starts gagging, blood pouring out the sides of her mouth. Weighing the bat in my hand, I raise it above my head then swiftly bringing it down hard and fast into the middle of her cranium. The shatter of her skull echoes in the alley, but I don’t stop hitting. I keep swinging until her skin busts open, the bat tearing her apart, cracking more of her skull, eventually revealing brain matter.
After a few more swings, I finally calm down. Heavy breaths leave me, the bottom of my legs and shoes are covered in her. I feel frozen in place, the high and rush of the kill finally settling. I don’t move until I hear a footstep behind me. I remove my boot from the girl's mouth, then turn around to find Blaze staring at me.
“I guess it’s time we also have it out,” I say.
“I guess it is.”
